Anyone else fed up with North Easterly wind flow?

I realise this will just be a comment that affects those of us who live in the East of England but is anyone else fed up and worn out with this constant north easterly wind. I’m putting the fire on every evening and still feeling I need to dress like winter during the day in spite of the sunshine! It’s starting to make me feel a bit depressed and I know if the wind changes direction and it gets too hot I’ll be complaining about that too 😂 but I’m just so cold all of the time! Anyone else fed up with it?

Mid Norfolk, and cant get warm at all, have put it down to blood thinners after THR.
Hot water bottle and throws over me,from early evening.
Wind is gusting outside and we might get to 15°later if we are lucky.

We seem to have had this wind since Christmas. We have just returned from a trip to France, Normandy. and it has been consistently colder and the wind even stronger there - again since Christmas.

We went to Normandy for a week, I arrived in summer clothes and a light jacket and as soon as I got there I got back into my winter clothes.

Here in South Wales we've been having beautiful weather, up to 23°. There is a breeze blowing through the trees this morning but the sun is lovely and warm.

MrsKen33 Mon 29-May-23 09:12:01

No, it doesn’t get as far as SW Wales. Lovely here

For once living in the North west is paying off sunny days bit of a cool breeze and fantastic views instead of the constant stream of cold and cloudy/wet weather .
I've even taken my vest off, though the poor plants except the lavender are all suffering.
Many years ago I left the area for the North East I was the only student who arrived with a pair of wellies we lived in them, everyone else had good leather boots.smile

Honestly, some people just look for something to complain about!
It's actually very pleasant at the moment....sunshine but not too hot. The Easterly breeze helps to keep the air fresh and blows my washing nicely.

Oh heck bluebelle. What a shame. They’re closer to Suffolk, I’ve photos of them back in April enjoying warm sunshine when we had persistent cloud and frightening torrential rain, floods too close for comfort. Totally dry there. Today apparently they have cloud and it’s chilly, 18 degrees and rising in bright sun here. It is windy but close to the coast as we are it always is, often with the heavy cloud I so dislike. We live in a varied land for sure.

You're not alone Nannysprout, I get fed up with it too especially when I see the temperatures else where in the UKhmm.

I never complain about it being too hot; love it when it happens.

I am not sure anyone is complaining. Just describing the weather they are having, which has been exceptional this year.

It's a chilly day here (Oxfordshire) this morning. But the sun is shining.
The past three days have been extremely hot. I've had to come indoors mid afternoon. Far too hot, even under the sun shade.

henetha Mon 29-May-23 11:27:35

It was too hot for me here in Devon yesterday. But today there is a slight breeze, from the east I think, and it's better. The nights are still a bit chilly too.

Windier here in S Hampshire today, it has a keen edge to it.

I also live in Oxfordshire, and agree it has been too hot. My patio is sheltered and the maximum temperature has been around 29C in the shade every day recently. Factor 50 has been put to good use and short sleeves and cropped trousers unearthed, although have changed into warmer clothes for the evenings.
Much more comfortable today, got lots of gardening done.

Here in North Bucks it is cloudy with a really cold easterly wind. No sitting in the garden today. The last week has been dry and sunny but icy in the shade. My poor plants are all sulking with the extremes in temperature, most unusual.

henetha Mon 29-May-23 11:43:07

We have a hosepipe ban here, which means watering cans for the new plants. Blooming nuisance. .. excuse the pun.

Having watched This Morning out of curiosity to see what all the fuss is about
Managed about hour's worth of viewing before I turned it off. Of course, Philip Schofield and Holly W weren't presenting, but I can't see why viewers are so enamoured with the programme.
Probably, me not being able to get involved with presenters after an hour

Pittcity Mon 29-May-23 16:25:05

It's playing havoc with my hay fever as it's dry too and blowing the allergens around.
I've also lost the heads off my poppies as soon as they bloom.
I'm not complaing about the temperature though as I don't like heat.

Pittcity Mon 29-May-23 16:26:29

Lovely for drying washing though!

AreWeThereYet Mon 29-May-23 18:13:00

Yes I'm getting a bit bored now with the NE wind - it can be beautifully warm in the sun and as soon as you are in the shade a gust of chilly wind hits you. Still, it's an immense improvement on all the rain, and as someone else pointed out at least it dries the washing.

BlueBelle Mon 29-May-23 18:32:38

Livey are you on the right thread ?? I know there’s a lot of hot air on Tv but never a cold north easterly

I live in the North East and the weather is miserable just now.
Sunny in the mornings but cold after about 1pm.
having to wear a woollen jumper in the evening.
One consolation is the fact that my NDN are prevented from having their constant garden parties which usually go on all day this time of the year. The noise and mess they create is not missed at all.

Oldbat1 Mon 29-May-23 21:46:08

I live in NE England about 3miles from the coast and i think weather is just right - not cold and not hot. Rain isnt an issue as i would have 12 dog legs to dry after each walk so i would definitely notice. Ive sat in the garden quite a bit even finding some shade and walked the dogs without wearing a jacket. I wish it would remain like this all year round. There is a slight breeze but not what i would define as windy. Im happy!
