Have you spoken to your local Age UK branch, which is in Abingdon www.ageuk.org.uk/oxfordshire/ They offer a number of befriending services. I live in this area, but cannot help as I have other commitments that do not work well with keeping up regular contact with someone.

However Age Uk do run a telephone befriending service locally www.ageuk.org.uk/oxfordshire/our-services/phone-friends/ and if you contact them, they should be able to help you. One of my friends gets calls from someone on this service and really enjoys her conversations.

You would have been better to put the location in the title, as not everyone will read a generic heading.

I am looking after a 63 year old man in Didcot who would like some company. He had a stroke in 2020 but can hold a good conversation & is desperate for some interaction. He loves history & archaeology. Please get in touch if you are local.
