Good Morning Thursday 1st June 2023
(53 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its light but grey with a easterly wind here in brackley today so far .
with the weather as it is , I am going to have to wear a winter jacket ,and not a lighter fleece.
The wind chill makes it uncomfortable.
My usual trip to Bicester this morning , the last few days of the current bus service number next week onwards it will be different .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning from a sunny menorca. Slight thunderstorm yesterday then it got hot again! Lovely !hubbys birthday tomorrow got special outing planned got to make the most of life !
Good morning all and the weather is as GG said - grey and chilly here in Essex.
Dd came home from hospital yesterday. She’s not much better but they can’t put their finger on anything really. Just the withdrawal symptoms. It has to be that! She’s just got to ride it out. 😤😥.
Might go to bowls club this morning. I’ll wait to hear from Dd.
Enjoy your lunches GG and Cornergran. 🍾.
Baubles good news.
GM once you get to know everyone a bit more, you’ll probably find some like-minded people. The lady upstairs seemed nice ☕️☕️. didnt she?.
Have a good day all 🌸
Morning from an overcast S Hants at 12, due to warm up later, sorry🙂.
At least you’re not boring gMattie.
MrJ has just left for work, I’ve got phone calls to make and some bizzy lizzies to put in tubs, seeds to sow for more veg.
Thinking of those struggling today.
🦩🦩
Good morning from an overcast Colchester. It was chilly here yesterday so I'm back in sweatshirt and jeans.
DH is taking DGS1 fishing for the day. I will change the bed and get to the bottom of the laundry and ironing baskets. I also need to start planning and we are off to visit family in USA on Monday. It's warm there so the Summer clothes will get worn.
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning from a chilly W Kent. Off to art this morning and hoping to see DD later
Happy birthday MrOops
All the best
Good morning from a sunny start to June in Cornwall. At my favourite charity shop cafe yesterday I met a man who remembered my painter father (long ago deceased) and his steam train paintings, which was lovely. Meeting my arty daughter-in-law in Wetherspoons at lunchtime, for much nattering knowing us. The photo is my 5 year old grandson last evening, at our local reservoir.
Good morning from a chilly and dull Black Country. Same as yesterday.
Lunch out yesterday with Mum and her younger sister.
This morning I have an eye test, then gym which is almost next door. Then admin at home.
I read about that Doctors Practice on the local Midlands new Monk, shocking really!
Enjoy your day everyone.
Good morning from the east coast of Fife where the suns already shining
I’m off today to meet an old chum of mine we’re going to have a nice lunch at a local farm shop where I’ll have their macaroni and cheese. I had it last time I was there and it was delicious. My carer will take me. Look at the beautiful weather we’re having in Fife
Good morning all. A gloomy & chilly start to the day here in Sefton tho' sunshine is forecast for this afternoon. Hmmm. Maybe. It certainly doesn't look promising right now.
Zumba class this morning. The Latin vibe will cheer me up. Then a visit to the fish man - he had red mullet last week. Such a rare treat - hang the cost!! A quick food shop & that's it for the day. Then 🤞for a sunny afternoon in the garden or a walk along the beach.
Take care.
Good morning all from the Black country cold here again the heating has come on.
Happy birthday MrOops🍺.
Yesterday we learnt that 3 drs from our practice have been suspended for patient safety and the practice put in special measures very worrying.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning. No sun yet but we are forecast a good sunny afternoon. Let’s hope the chilly wind is not around .
No plans for today but maybe games and relaxing at base before the long drive home tomorrow.
Wishing all a pleasant day.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve a cloudy start to the day but the sun is due out later
So pleased to hear all is ok baubles take care
We’ve got DGS here just now as he stayed for a sleepover last night so we’ll drop him at school and then I’ll have a browse around in town for a bit
Hoping all the birthday celebrations go well corner and GG13 - enjoy the parties!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and grey again. It didn't lift yesterday until quite late on. Grandmattie some people are very loud and make it all about them. I'm sure that things will settle down soon. Baubles that's good news indeed. Cornergran I would hope that your friend would appreciate the effort you have gone to. Have a nice time.
Yesterday I enjoyed pottering about. However my outside tap got stuck fully on with water cascading everywhere, especially on me. Nothing would budge it. I eventually had to go to my next door neighbour and ask if he had a tool for turning it off. Within minutes he had it sorted. It's happened twice recently and I think I'm turning it too far and it sticks. I shall be very cautious watering the garden in future. I visited mum at night and she was very tired, however the nurse said she had been sitting in her chair for a couple of hours so that would explain her tiredness. My dd arrived as I left.
Today I have the last art class of the session, then I'm looking after the boys this afternoon then back to visit mum. Roast chicken for dinner. Have a good day all
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very grey, very cool South Yorkshire. The weather is saying “Reight, tha’s ‘ad thi Summer - get thi big coat aaht!” Writers group yesterday was a hoot and not much writing was done. I did my homework on the bus going over! “Must do better”!
Should be walking today but am giving it a miss. Too much to do in the house.
Corner it will all be fine! Enjoy!
Have the best day you can folks!
Good morning all from a chilly and grey North Leicestershire- again.
Off to a Memory Cafe this morning and then I have an ultrasound this afternoon.
Have the best day possible all.
Good morning all from bright and sunny South Lanarkshire.
I spent yesterday morning at my local hospital having had a call the previous day to say that my recent CT scan had picked up ‘something’ in my breast. Thankfully a mammogram followed by an ultrasound showed that it was a harmless lump which I’ve apparently had for years and is no bigger than it was four years ago at my last screening. Our NHS at its best.
I was able to get the shop covered and went in at lunchtime. I expect I will be busy today and for the next week as many of our volunteers are taking time off.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Morning Mick and all
Yep, you’ve guessed it’s grey and breezy here, please spring come out to play, is it June after all…
I am out for a dear friends “0” birthday lunch today, I think that there will be 12 of us, I forecast much laughter and chatting 🎂🥂🎉
Have a good day folks 🐇🐇🐇
good morning, sun all day in s somerset but a cold NE wind will take the shine off and I will stay in as I have plenty to do
I was tired yesterday, I think from the covid spring booster some days previously, I was expecting that so have not physically pushed myself.
Horrible to think that people have been gossiping GM, particularly those you have already met. You will be fine, once you find your new chosen groups with a common interest. Leaving your other home was as though you were ripping a plaster off. It will get better over time, you just cannot rush these things and it is much harder by yourself. Now, more than ever, you will need all that strength of character that is within you
I hope you all have a nice day
Morning Mick, morning All. Light cloud over our corner of Somerset. Should be sunny in an hour or two. No rain in the forecast for the next week.
Balloons collected yesterday to add to other decorations we’re off over the bridge via two motorways to celebrate our friend’s 80th birthday. She’s booked a table at her favourite lunch spot and will meet us there. Our son is acting as chauffeur allowing us to go ahead and decorate the table with the usual suspects. What can go wrong? Other than traffic delays, the cake arriving in crumbs and our friend hating it all not a lot. Can you tell I’m starting to question the wisdom of this?
Thinking of all with worries of any kind. Hope Thursday is kind to us all.
Good morning from (I hate to say) a sunny but breezy (N.Easterly) Torbay. I wish I could share it with the cooler areas about which I’m reading.
It occurred to me that having your hair cut didn’t help with the chilly feeling yesterday, BlueBalou!
Your reputation goes before you, grandMattie. They do say that the time to worry is when people stop talking about you!
Kind thoughts for MissOops, Oopsadaisy1, also for Urmstongran’s DH and all who are facing pain or distress.
Last night, I attended a rehearsal for our summer production: Dad’s Army. I only have a minor role but it’s good to be involved. A couple of ex members have been persuaded to return as the cast requires several men, as you can imagine!
Today we’ve decided to make the most of the sunshine by going to stay at my holiday static on the edge of Dartmoor for a few nights.
Make the most of the day! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
Good morning from an overcast Angus.
I stayed put yesterday while the family did a strenuous walk, I read my novel and had a lovely afternoon nap.
Maybe a trip to Dundee today.
I have been awake since 4.30, I am going to be tired later.
Thoughts are with poorly people.
Good morning from a chilly, blustery Oxfordshire, where has the warm weather gone?
MissOops went home last night, she is sure she can cope, so fingers crossed, but she will be back this morning as it’s MrOops birthday so she might want to stay again, she is still taking anti sickness pills from the hospital and was warned that she wouldn’t feel well for a few days, they were right! Nephew isn’t coping on his own though so she thought it best to go home.
Apart from sorting beds out today and a trip to the chemist I have nothing planned. The garden needs sorting out but I’m not good in the wind, so that will have to wait, I’ll just water the pots and run back indoors in the warm ( heating is on).
Have a good day everyone.
Pinch and a punch……
White rabbits 🐇🐇🐇
Good morning from a grey, chilly Bristol day. The sun will be out this afternoon.
I went to the first “estate” coffee morning since covid, I think. As I walked in, a loud voice said “are you the girl (!) from Mauritius?” A lot of gossip must have been going on, since I have only met about 5 of the inmates. It was the usual depressing affair, but held in one of the bigger hallways. There is no dedicated room, which is a shame. I’m sure, particularly in the winter, that people would meet if feeling lonely.
DS came to take me to dinner at a local pub. He went a very long way round, he walks very fast, I was scuttling behind him, puffing away…. Dinner was very pleasant and the route home was mercifully more direct!
Today, he’s taking me to the walk-in covid vaccination centre, then staying for dinner.
I’m going to call a local charity to take away my enormous furniture, trying to coordinate a delivery from IKEA as the car is too small for the stuff I want.
I hope everyone has a good day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️🦩
