Good morning Mick, Annie and all. After a late, lazy breakfast, I answered a couple of emails, then stripped our bed and put in a wash load.
Things take a lot longer these days, but then I showered and washed my hair. Am now exhausted. So DH has made me a cup of reviving coffee.
I am still having trouble with my eyes. I think it is the pollen, but until this year I have never had hay fever, or been allergic to pollen. Strange. So eyes have had lubricating drops and I have taken an anti-histamine. Think I need to sit here with dark glasses on 😎.
Now to go back and read all the previous posts.
Have a good day one and all.

Good morning all from a cloudy and damp Angus coast. Yesterday the sun put in an appearance just as it was setting!
Not much to say from here. I twisted my knee on Saturday morning which put a stop to all activity. However it feels much better today so the washing's in the machine and will be hung out - more in hope than expectation that it will dry mind you!
Grandmattie you've achieved so much in the past month! My friend phoned me last week to tell me how much she hates her new place, but I hope she allows herself to come to terms with it and settles soon. She's not mobile as you are, which doesn't help. Enjoy your trip to Specsavers today - and no doubt some surrounding shops!
Grandmabatty I follow Windy Wilson too - he's amazingly accurate. He used to run sometimes in the group my daughter ran with a couple of years ago. I remember, because of his "flowery" language (!), I asked her what he was really like and she said he was 'alright' - whatever that means. I hope GDS2 is at his cuddly best for you today.
Best holiday wishes Pittcity. And safe journeys to all on the move today. Enjoy all your idyllic weather!
Yes Marydoll I saw that hosepipe ban warning, but I shall be a touch disgruntled if it applies to here where the sky leaks copiously over us! I just wonder if it's the 'meeja' trying to stir things up again.
Now I must move before my knee siezes up again - it's certainly going to keep me fit!

Good morning from sunny Siberia. I have been madly busy running round government offices to get my registration sorted. It is 37°C so it is unpleasant on overcrowded buses. But I am having a late afternoon cup of tea here with a lovely cottage cheese and apple cake.
Sorry to hear about the low reservoirs.
Keep busy, positive and active!

Good morning all from overcast Harrogate you are all so industrious you make me feel lazy!! I did go got church and I did do more baking. Within the last 5 years my BIL had a liver transplant, at the moment he’s inthe Edinburgh Royal Hospital his body is rejecting the liver and he’s being pumped full with steroids hopefully to reverse the rejection. The latest news is it seems to be working. We were supposed to be staying with them in two weeks, but I have booked a hotel instead. DSIS Will have enough on her hands.
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

Glad you’re settling in well Grandmattie, I admire your strength and resilience. Good luck with the insurance Cornergran, not my favourite task and MrB is hopeless at admin.

Hope the childminding is better today Grandmabatty. Enjoy your empty Marydoll, I can’t remember when I last had one of those!

I’ve been getting out as much as possible while the good weather lasts, but l also have to protect my eyes from UV light so it’s the sun hat and dark glasses, even when hanging the washing out. I’m another Sabbath breaker, I’m not wasting such perfect drying weather!

Safe journey to any travellers and healing thoughts to any poorlies.

Have a good day all 🌻🌻🌻

Morning from still cloudy S Lanarkshire. I have been waiting for a chap to arrive to look at the possibility of having a retractable canopy fitted over my patio, however just received a message from him asking to rearrange. He’s a nice man so clearly unavailable and there’s no rush.

DD and youngest grandchildren here yesterday to join in rehearsals for their participation in our Lanimer procession and concert later this week. H is baulking about wearing the circus ringmaster’s hat but we’ll worry about that on Thursday!

Home yesterday from my visit to the farm with enough rhubarb to feed the street, I asked son in law for ‘a few stalks’! I better organise some sharing.

Glad you sound a bit more settled grandMattie, it has been a huge challenge for you recently, I hope things continue to go well for you.

Best wishes everyone

Good morning all from a grey W Kent. Lovely day yesterday with DS and DIL and DGD1, enjoyed our roast beef and sat in the garden in hot sun with a light breeze. Looking at their diary I can see why we don't see an awful lot of them at present, every day GCSE's and work, holidays and a DGS coming and going, felt quite breathless reading it.
Cleaner coming this morning, I think I am getting used to the house looking like a hotel! I shall do the ironing.
Best wishes to all.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
And so the long, hot sunny days continue!
Put some begonias in pots yesterday and sorted songs for Tuesday, but a quiet day.
Today into town for lunchtime concert, which includes coffee and cake. Once a month and very popular. Return a top to Primarni and a few other bits and pieces. Must get my roots done soon, I’m putting the brown spray in, very effective, but can’t go on with that for ever…

Take care Mick and thoughts to anyone with troubles.
Pic taken through a window in Chester on Saturday.

Good Morning from S Yorks, where its over cast and I hope will lift to sun.

yesterday I did a lot of decluttering of old art stuff: cabin fever as didn't get out and missed Quakers.
Today is physio at 10am so I'd better get a move on.

Bests for poorlies and all outings and treats.

harrigran Mon 05-Jun-23 08:52:39

Good morning from Tyne &Wear where it is cloudy.
Yesterday the sun did not appear until about 3pm.
I watered my patio plants, poor things really suffered while I was on holiday, most unusual to have a whole week without rain here.
Think I will do some housework today, hoovering is exercise, kills two birds with one stone.
Take care Mick, I isolated myself for ten days before my operation as you need to be as well as possible to aid recovery.

EkwaNimitee Mon 05-Jun-23 08:52:27

Good morning Mick and everyone from warm sunny Carlisle.
There's a downside to it, I'm having to get the hosepipe out on my new plantings! Mustn't complain....
I got little useful done yesterday except for said hosepipe. Having puzzled over how to put the bits together, I found the seller had instructions online and then the thing worked.
It's been too warm and glarey for me to be out in the garden long, upsets my migraines so I enjoy sitting inside the open french windows looking at the garden. Last year's plantings are really taking off and making up for some winter losses.

Mizuna, I envy you those echiums. I found I could get them from seed very easily and grew a lot of sturdy young plants but they would never survive a West Cumbrian winter. Probably it was too wet and windy for them. Perhaps I should try again here where it's not so wet and windy and the garden is much more sheltered.

This morning I am out into town for a coffee get together and one or two errands. Then a spot of housework I expect.

Enjoy the day if you are able and best wishes to all who can't.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Another sunny day.

Water shortages are predicted so
I am glad that no mow may has left me with a beautiful meadow.

I lost a tooth at the weekend so an urgent call to the Dentist.

I've heard many a tale like your DM's from people from the Western Isles Liberty and quite recently too.
The church ruled. The playgrounds were locked in Stornoway on a Sunday.

Have a lovely day everyone.

hulahoop Mon 05-Jun-23 08:40:22

Sar53 Mon 05-Jun-23 08:34:52

Good morning from a grey sky in Essex by the sea.
A good turnout for the BBQ yesterday afternoon, the sun shining made all the difference.
This morning we are going to finalise the details for my birthday meal in just over two weeks.
Housework and washing when I get back.
Have a great day everyone xxx

ginny Mon 05-Jun-23 08:23:52

Good morning. Rather dull weather here at the moment, not sure what the forecast is.
Lots of house jobs to be done today and some weeding and dead heading in the garden. I also have to pop to my friend who runs the craft club with me to sort out the bank account. No doubt coffee and chat will also be included.

Healing thoughts for all with illness or worries to deal with.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Liberty Mon 05-Jun-23 08:11:27

Good morning from a cloudy Suffolk where we are promised sun later.

After 2 loads of washing yesterday I have plenty of ironing to do today. Doing laundry on Sunday reminded me of the story my mother used to tell us when we were children. She would never do any on Sunday and told us that in the village of Saltaire, quite close to where I was brought up,there was( and still is) a terraced house with a tower with a balcony where the man living there was charged with the task of keeping watch every Sunday for anyone in the village hanging out washing on the Sabbath. We never heard whether there were any culprits!

Thinking of those feeling unwell or stressed and hoping that there is a little sunshine for all today.

Greyduster Mon 05-Jun-23 08:10:22

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from an overcast South Yorkshire. No doubt it will clear later. Our family curry lunch was a great success yesterday, and then we went for a walk along the river. It’s three mile round walk which is a long way for me at the moment and I enjoyed it but had terrible cramps in my legs last night. I’m meeting a friend for coffee this afternoon and greatly looking forward to it.
Have a good journey, Pitt. Sounds exciting!
Enjoy your day, folks.

Georgesgran Mon 05-Jun-23 08:09:26

Good morning from Durham where blue sky is barely visible through the grey. Such a disappointing day yesterday, when it wasn’t sunny or warm until after 3pm.
DGS2 is 2 today - such a shame that DH didn’t live long enough to see him. He’s a little star. No party as such, but I’m meeting the family later at a local petting farm. I expect Nursery will have a little celebration for him tomorrow, where he’s graduated to the Toddler Room.
Have booked a few days in Malaga with DD2 - makes me think of Urms and himself - I hope he gets some benefit from his treatment.
Have a good day. X

brook2704 Mon 05-Jun-23 08:03:14

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a cloudy start but like yesterday is forecast to be a warm and sunny
Safe travels Ash, Pittcity, Oops and everyone else on the move today
The schools here didn’t have a half term last week, but they have today as an in service day so we’ll have the DGC to look after. . I hope they’re good and don’t start bickering and teasing each other 😳
Good to be busy GG13!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 05-Jun-23 08:00:51

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I seem to have overslept! The boiler is being serviced today. While the guy is here I will pop out and do a Waitrose shop. OH has his U3A croquet group this afternoon. I think it will be a good day for it. Have a good day.

Grandmachrisy47 Mon 05-Jun-23 07:57:22

Back to normal for us this week. DD2 and hubby arrived safely home from their sunshine break so dh and I returned home yesterday afternoon. Another first on Saturday. Dgd wanted a pizza, so she cleverly used my phone to est up an account with a local pizza company, chose our pizzas etc, and arranged delivery. Presenting me with said phone to authorise payment. I now feel ancient! She’s 8 and did in 5 minutes what would take me 30 minutes 😂😂😂 the pizzas were delicious.
Just waiting for arrival of said dgd for breakfast and walk to school.
Thinking of those with illnesses and worries.

monk08 Mon 05-Jun-23 07:45:38

Good morning all from an overcast Black country, have put the towels in the wash in anticipation the sun will break through later.
Not a lot planned for today I have some cards to post, 11 birthdays this month.
GM that month has flown by and you seem to be feeling your way around nicely.
Mick I'm another saying please take care this week as Oops has said perhaps wear a mask.
Ash safe journey home.
Virtual hugs to Urms and her DH and anybody else who needs them.
Enjoy your Monday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️

BlueSapphire Mon 05-Jun-23 07:45:10

Good morning everyone from an overcast and very grey Northampton. May get some sunny spells this afternoon.

Didn't do a lot yesterday except read in the garden, but it was difficult to find anywhere comfortable to sit - it was either too hot outside the summerhouse or too chilly in the wind under the pergola. I seemed to spend a lot of time moving from one to the other! Still, I got well over 100 more pages read of my book, read the Sunday paper and did the puzzle pages.

Yoga first thing this morning, so I must go and get my shower and get dressed.
Will probably just sit and read again after lunch.

Have a good Monday everyone.

Pittcity Mon 05-Jun-23 07:41:55

Good morning from an overcast Colchester.
We are having breakfast and then are off to pick up DH sister. We are spending today in airports and flying to Chicago to visit their cousin who lives next to Lake Michigan. I'll try to post some photos.
Sending virtual hugs and love to all 🦩 x
