Good morning everyone, another glorious start to the day albeit probably another too warm one for me and others 😊
Yesterday’s drive to my short break was good, it’s nice to see new countryside in lovely weather and I was very thankful for air conditioning in the car, 29° is a tad too hot.
Today is using mixed materials and mediums, being totally free to create a watercolour with texture which sounds fun (and is probably messy!)
The group is lovely, very friendly so I’m sure it’ll be a great break.
Have a lovely day 🌹

Good morning from a breathless, Mediterranean-feeling Cornwall. Thinking of you Mick. Today coffee with a friend before the start of our annual Sea Shanty Festival at lunchtime, where for three days the sound of singing echoes throughout the town. People flock to hear the Fishermen's Friends but my favourite is a Breton group. I'll hear it all even from my patio.
A five-hour session at my allotment yesterday, started very early to beat the heat - the first bus there is at 7am. Saw the first dragonfly at my new pond and mulched my globe artichokes to make watering easier. (Re sewing machines, mine is tangling so a friend is coming next week to help sort it.)
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It feels warm already. I was woken at just after 4 am by a very loud aeroplane! We are fairly near to Benson, Brize Norton and Fairford, so who knows! I am taking Ripley the cat to the Vet this morning for her post-op check. She seems ok and the loss of a tooth doesn’t seem to be bothering her. I will get on with preparing a hanging basket, which I should have done the other day but it was too hot. The new picture frame arrived yesterday and I have messed up! Because it is custom made I can’t change it - it is too big. I have found several pictures which would fit and will pop into a picture framer in the next town for a frame for the print I bought on Sunday. I have form for this type of thing! There is an enormous picture frame in storage where I got my inches and centimetres muddled. Have a good day - special thoughts for Mick and of course the Urms.

Morning grandmattie. Morning All. Looks hazy out there, our last morning in Berkshire.
Thoroughly enjoyed a day at Blenheim Palace yesterday. Enough shade and breeze to keep cool. Our two nights away have been just right, good food, a large very comfortable room and delightful grounds to wander
A stop at Avebury and a visit to our son on the way home There will be time for another wander in the garden and coffee on the terrace before we leave here.
Hope mick is comfortable. My thoughts go to all who are finding life tough. Hope Friday is kind to us all.
Good morning, Mattie and Michael in absentia. I’m another who was awake at some ungodly hour listening to the dawn chorus! Had a good walk yesterday morning and then took my grandson out for lunch which was a huge pleasure for us both - me because I enjoy the company of a handsome young man, and him because he knows he can indulge himself from the menu! It was a chance for a good chat. Then I came home and washed my very mucky car. Too much dust on the roads with all this dry weather.
I have a day at home with nothing much to do today so I will bake chocolate brownies, potter in the garden and read.
Hope you’re doing okay Mick.
Have the best day you can folks.
karma, you are wonderful! I shall order them in a moment…. I shall have duplicates when the other sewing machine bits resurface, but, hey! At least, I’ll have something to do!
Good morning, another hot day coming up.
I finished all my jobs yesterday, by 8am and the jam turned out beautifully. Green to brown to red when it was ready to pot. I am going to make another batch in a few days. It was very helpful to prepare everything the day before
I am missing my cycling sessions, starting to feel like a blob. My hip/back is mended and I have decided that today is the day I get back to it. I need to be home by 9 to escape high uv and heat
GM I found a pedal for my vintage bernina, on ebay. This person might be worth asking

Have a lovely day
Good morning from Bristol in loco MickI hope he’s feeling better.
It is daylight, cloudless, clear and warm. I’m getting fed up with this…. Give me some rain!
Yesterday was quiet. I had a T’ai Chi class just before lunch. Apparently, the tutor is new. He is very sweet, but not always audible - he doesn’t explain what we are supposed to do, just copy him. I tend to get my limbs tangled and my eyes crossed trying to follow! Boy, he does exercise us, very gently, but we do get a good workout.
I did a little sewing with DD’s borrowed sewing machine. It was so nice. I tried to buy a pedal and power cable, but it seems my own machine is too old (some 18 years) for anyone to keep spares. I’m half minded to buy another, newer model.
Had dinner at DD’s with the family, came home and fell into bed - just after 9. Rotten night, I don’t know why. Probably the heat.
Today, I think I have a meeting with my financial advisor. Not sure. In the mail he said “Friday”, but it could be next week!
I’m baking for a church clothes exchange tomorrow. Coffee and walnut sandwich, Biscoff fairy cakes.
May today bring contentment to all for the forthcoming weekend.
