Good morning all from South Lanarkshire. We’ve had some overnight rain but the sun is peeping through the clouds again.

We stayed over at DS’s on Friday night to look after the children so that their tired parents could have a break. They stayed at a hotel close by where they were able to relax and enjoy an uninterrupted night’s sleep and have a bit of a lie in. We enjoyed our time with the children although I’m now tired and sore but that will pass.

Going to collect the daft dug this afternoon from DD’s where she’s been since Thursday.

How good of Urms and Kalu to post yesterday, they are both in my thoughts.

Nothing planned other than roast chicken this evening. No doubt the AC and GC will be popping in and out to see DH.

Patio pots are planted thanks to BIL.
DS and GDs were here all afternoon and evening but they are lovely company.
Elder sister is coming this afternoon, I will hear all about her outings with old friends, she always has a full itinerary when she visits the UK.
My thoughts are with Urmston and Kalu.

Good morning everyone from sunny warm Carlisle.
It was mostly rather cloudy yesterday and a bit cooler so I worked for a while in a shady part of the garden and got something else planted. There's a growing queue of plants awaiting this as my visit to the garden centre resulted in the purchase of more 'must haves', though not the plant I was actually hoping to find.
I'm going to get out there again shortly as we have rain forecast for the afternoon. The only other planned activity is reading as it threatens another very warm day.

I saw your posts yesterday Urms and Kalu, best wishes to you both and your loved ones.
And to you Marydoll, I hope you feel better as the day goes on.

Good morning from a bright but cloudy morning in Essex by the sea. We did have some rain during the night and sounds of distant thunder. It feels fresher this morning.
We are meeting up with DH's girls this morning at some stage and then will probably go for a drink at the yacht club.
Salmon parcels for dinner later.

Good morning from a cool, overcast Durham. We had a dozen spots of rain yesterday, hardly worth the effort!
Today DD2 and family are off to Majorca and I’m taxi - the only problem is my big car has gone, so it’s going to be a logistical nightmare getting her, her wheelchair, toddler and his pushchair there first, then I’ll return to collect her DH and their luggage, all in her slightly bigger car - then back to her house to get my own car. At least her FinL has hired a more suitable car to help out at the other end.
Might pop into her local garden centre while I’m up there. I’ve a big tub to fill and no idea with what.
I sincerely hope our poorlies and their families are ok. I can empathize with Urms and Kalu. Trusting Mick will be back soon to update his own situation.

Good morning from s somerset and hoping for a thunderstorm, any thunderstorm will do, I`ll take one of yours

I had a heavy day yesterday, strange how days evolve for me but suddenly the mood was upon me and I bought 30 very heavy bags of nice Dorset gravel, two short journeys in my workhorse car and lovely strong men loaded up for me

Then the work started and one by one the digging got harder and the bags much heavier. By the end of the day I had accomplished much and am now almost finished with future proofing the garden paths. I have blisters and aches but such a sense of satisfaction. Walking with one of those bags made me shorter, I know it did and that was far and away the worst part. Anyway I did the last small area almost this morning. I need to buy two more bags tomorrow and that is it, for posterity and a future of reclining under a shade knowing that the paths will never deteriorate

Obviously I am doing nothing else today, shower, feet up and pizza and salad for lunch

An empty day ahead - or should that be a day of endless possibilities? As it seems a little cooler I think it should be the latter, and I have lots of clothes sorting to do as well as the Sunday paper to read.

Sorry so many people are unwell, anxious about someone they love or just plain unhappy. I try to remind myself that this too will pass, but it can be very hard.

I had a tummy upset yesterday evening and a broken night. Fortunately it seems to have settled down but I shall take it easy today.

A fresher day here in Co Durham.
No plans except biking my way through The Archers. It’s been too hot and sticky for my usual routine of biking three times a week, waking three times a week and resting one day. It’s amazing how soon the fat increases in one week. Need to take myself in hand. 😀
Thoughts are with Urms and Kalu, such a difficult times for them and their dear husbands. Marydoll, hope you’re feeling better. Mick, hope you’re home now and improving.

Good morning from a very warm and humid north of Scotland. I have not posted for a long time. Post Covid has knocked my sleeping pattern for six. Church shortly then some gardening.
I have been reading daily however and send my thoughts to Urms and Kalu and also to the ladies whose daughters have such serious health problems.
Marydoll I am going to persuade my DH to come on a road trip to Gourock, Paisley, Troon, Helensburgh, Largs and Rothesay, but after the school holidays. So many happy days there with auntie, uncles and cousins too.

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast where we have had rain. Read into the small hours and finally finished my doorstop of a very enjoyable book. Now to choose another, although I always have a biography or letters to hand to pick up randomly without following a plot.

A friend gave me a photo of her grandmother to draw. I’m not really pleased with it and might have another go. Plus a walk into the sand dunes and a general tidy up.

Feelingmyage55, I think you may be shocked at how Paisley has deteriorated.
It is no longe the vibrant town, where I was brought up.
If you are going to Troon, (where we used to live), go along the road to Prestwick. My favourite destination for a day out, which isn't too far away.

Good morning all - for the second time! A pesky little fly landed on the back of my hand and as I brushed it off I inadvertently deleted my post!! I think I said "Oh dear!"
Anyway I was at my verbose best and there is no way I can go back and repeat that, so your left with this.
My heartfelt admiration to Urms and Kalu as you go through the most awful time of your lives and yet took a moment to be in touch. I want to give you both the biggest hug. 🙏
Mick if you're managing to read the posts you will see that you too are in our collective thoughts. Take your time, get well and strong soon and then come back to us 🙏
I loved watching the Trooping if the Colour yesterday. Once a Forces' Wife and mother, always a Forces' Wife and mother - my heart always swells with pride when I see us at our ceremonial British best. As for the fly past and the Red Arrows ....... I'm a complete wreck. Can you imagine what I was like the year DS1 was on parade at The Troop?!! No words! And when I attended DS2's Passing Out Parade at RAF Cranwell - but that was in part due to how he looked so like his father in that same uniform.
Anyway, today's today and nothing is getting done. So off I must trot. Enjoy your raindrops everyone! The lessening of the heat will be a boon for many x

Once a Forces' Wife and mother, always a Forces' Wife and mother - my heart always swells with pride when I see us at our ceremonial British best. Glad it’s not just me Taichinan! Never miss a Trooping if I can help it. The fly past was wonderful.

DS had the opportunity to fly in one of the Merlins (he is a Merlin mechanic) as he had missed out at the coronation due to the weather. This time he was home on leave. We watched part of the formation fly over Essex from our front window as usual.

It's so ingrained in us, isn't it grey! What a shame your son missed out on his Merlin flight Pittcity. That would have been so memorable for him. My DH did a royal flypast in a Jet Provost when the Queen Mother opened the Tay Road Bridge in 1966, just after we met. So many special memories. This time DS2 texted to say the Red Arrows had just flown over his garden en route for the flypast (he lives near their base). I felt I had a vested interest! Oh, and DS1 was in Trooping the Colour a long. long time ago. That was quite something - though I couldn't pick him out, strangely enough. And before I finish my military brag, DS2 was in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace for the RAF's 100th birthday parade. Sorry!

I was in the Army, my DH was 22 years in the Army and DS was 22 years in the RAF (well someone had to be different!😁).

Wow! Only ever been a camp follower 😉
