I’m in the leftie group of posters but have friends on here who sit the other side of the fence. Humanity humour humility add to the joys in life
Me too, in ‘real life’ and online. I don’t think that friends have to agree about everything, and I definitely don’t think that just because someone has a ‘left wing’ point of view about one thing they are letting the side down if they don’t on another. People (well most of us!) are far more complex than that. I also think that it’s not always their political beliefs that attract me to someone (or otherwise) - it is the way they want to see them enacted. I have ‘decent’ and kindly Tory friends and I know some doctrinaire lefties who show no understanding of human nature and cannot conceive of the idea that they might just possibly be wrong. I might share the basic views of the latter group but prefer the company of the former.

. I don't really know why it works like that, but it does seem to happen that new people get a hard time on here - maybe it's a territorial thing?
