Good morning Mick and all, from a sunny Bristol. It is fresh and very pleasant in bed.

Nannagarra Thu 22-Jun-23 07:31:13

Good morning from sunny Sefton. It’s good to see you back Mick.
Some admin and the usual meet up with friends will keep me busy. In the last three days three people I haven’t seen for a long time have reappeared in my life so there’s been a lot of catching up. My DH is amused at the extent of talking which has taken place!
Thinking of Urms and Kalu, and others facing worries. Have the best Thursday possible everyone.
x

Good morning everyone, good to see you back Mick, look after yourself.
Sunny and warm already and I have the air con on, how did we cope without it.
I had a lovely day yesterday, lots of phone calls and messages and so many flowers that I have run out of vases. DH and I enjoyed a relaxing meal at a local pub last night.
We are going to a DGS'S sports day this morning, some tidying up later.
Have a lovely day everyone xx

Stilllearning Thu 22-Jun-23 07:50:59

Good morning from sunny S Lanarkshire and a big welcome back to Mick. Thanks also to grandMattie for keeping things going for us in the meantime.

Very few at our exercise class yesterday but it was still very enjoyable and a meal out afterwards with a friend who has ‘dropped out’ was nice. I think she has allowed her life to contract a bit over the last year or so and it hasn’t done her any favours. Maybe it’s inevitable but it’s a bit sad.

DD in Harris is having a wonderful solo holiday. She is happy as a lark and sending some gorgeous photos, the colours of course are amazing. I’ll try and attach one.

A visit today to my dearest friend’s daughter, she has been so good at keeping in touch since her mum’s death eight years ago.

Wishing everyone the best day possible x

Just a quickie from sunny Bristol to welcome Mick back and say I was pleased to see he feels ready to take up again his role of being the first to greet us all every morning.

DD has taken the day off work so it will be lovely to spend the day with just her,a rare treat. Coffee and cake planned later at her favourite place and then at 6pm youngest DGC’s school play.

I hope there is ☀️for all today and especially for those with worries.

Gingster Thu 22-Jun-23 07:53:39

Good morning all and it’s a beauty here on the Suffolk coast.
We arrived yesterday and it’s so good to be back. At this time of year, I always think I’d like to be here full time.

Last evening was our book club meeting and we sat in the garden of a lovely old pub with a cool drink and good company. The lady who runs it said ‘ I think we might have a new member coming along’ . Does anyone know C ?. Only my neighbour who hasn’t spoken to us since Lockdown.! Oh no!
I told them the situation but was quite ok with her coming along. The others said ‘No, tell her we’re fulL’. . . 😬.

More gardening today - it’s like a jungle and progress with our steps down to the beach has been halted as lovely odd job man has an injury. The ferns have taken over and we can’t even see the steps, so that will be the first job.

Great to see Mick back . Take care.
Thanks to GM for keeping us all together.
I too missed Urms post. Hope things are going ok for her and her Dh.

Marydoll hope your day will be better than of late. 💐.
Wishing you all a gentle day 🌸

Good morning from a bright NE.
Sister had to take BIL back to the hospital because he was at risk of DVT and has to have anticoagulant injections. She was not happy with his treatment, she is going to ring me later and give me the details.
DS didn't come yesterday, he says he will take me shopping after work today. Last time we shopped at 7pm there was very little salad left.
Elder sister wants to visit again before returning to her home in Germany on Saturday.
Thoughts are with Urmston and Kalu.

Marydoll Thu 22-Jun-23 08:01:38

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, we had a shower of torrential rain yesterday, which was over in no time.

Glad to read Mick is home, hoping he is on the mend.

Thank you all for the good wishes and PMs yesterday, they meant a lot to me. I am a bit fragile at the moment, having have had a bit of a wake up call, because things are deteriorating too quickly for me. My GP was quite honest blunt, I have been in denial for ages and I am fighting a strong desire to wallow about my present situation.
One good thing which has come out of all of this, is that the odd (and to me) unrelated symptoms, have been explained. Every cloud and all that!
Yesterday was a very uncomfortable and sometimes scary day. I have nothing to report at all, because I did nothing. I wasn't even interested in my foreign language dramas! 😉
DH means well, but is is stressing me out, by constantly asking if I need to go to A&E (which I am trying to avoid like the plague.)

Babydoll got a clean bill of health after her scan yesterday, one worry over.
DD had to contact her GP, because baby looked as if she had eczema (diagnosed by gran 😉). We all are prone to it and her daddy has suffered badly all his life from it.

It's lovely to hear of all the comings and goings, what a busy lot you are.
As always, those battling worry and ill health are in my thoughts and prayers. I meant to say Jax, that I was pleased your appointment went well, quite a worry for you.

Have a very pleasant day folks.
I shall have a very quiet day (so boring) and put all my energy trying to think of something stressfree for dinner! DH is a terrible cook! 😁

Beechnut Thu 22-Jun-23 08:04:15

Good morning everyone from Severnside. A lovely bright morning.
Good to see you back Mick and hope you take things steady for a while.
I will pop into town to browse in a particular shop this morning and then spend a few hours doing pleasant things. Home for lunch which will be fridge raid clear out.

Have the best day you can all 🌺

GrannyGravy13 Thu 22-Jun-23 08:05:18

Morning all

Good to see you Mick I hope you are feeling ok and back to your normal routine soon. grandMattie has done a sterling job in your absence.

We have The Imp this morning as DD is off for a pamper session, a gift for her birthday from her Godmother.

I shall be glued to one of the races at Ascot this afternoon as my dear friend has a horse running 🏇

Sending (((hugs))) to our friends in need, and strict orders to MaryDoll to rest.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Lomo123 Thu 22-Jun-23 08:07:30

Good Morning Everyone,
Arrived home last night from the Churchill , and came online hoping to start this.
Take Care,
Mick

Mick why don’t you start another thread to let us know how you are and how it went?
You will get lost amongst all the news on here.

GrannySomerset Thu 22-Jun-23 08:17:06

Glad to know that Mick is home and hope for good progress for him. Many thanks to gMattie for keeping us going while
he was in hospital.

Helping a friend who is having a coffee morning for the local hospice so must get myself showered and ready for the hairdresser who is due first thing. Like many of us, I am struggling with the sticky, steamy weather and look forward to a change. Nothing is ever quite right!

baubles Thu 22-Jun-23 08:21:56

Good morning Mick, how lovely to have you back and many thanks to gM for holding the fort.

Morning all from sunny South Lanarkshire.

I have a day off today and will soon start to ring the surgery in hopes of getting an appointment. Other than that I’ll just have a quiet, pottering about day.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re so unwell Marydoll, resting won’t come easily to you.

Beautiful photo Stilllearning, enjoy your day.

Thinking as always about Kalu and Urms and their families.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Taichinan Thu 22-Jun-23 08:22:02

Welcome home Mick. So good to have you home!
And good morning all from a sunny, cloudless Angus coast where a "brisk westerly breeze" is buffeting us.
This year the farmer has planted an experimental crop of peas (which is not doing well at all) and left the area near the house to grow wild, so today I'm looking out over a sea of large white daisies, all nodding their heads to the beat of the wind. It will be interesting to see what comes next! Poppies would be lovely please.
Today I shall pop down and watch my tai chi class do a couple of sets and shall no doubt find a little something on which to base some teaching 😉. My knee still has a couple of weeks more before it's ready to be put through full movement again.
And that's it really. Nothing at all interesting. My new chair is amazingly comfortable and all sciatic twinges have disappeared - definitely no regrets about spending all that money although I may well have to starve in the future 😉
I too noticed Urms as I scrolled through a thread last night before sleep - it was so good to see her, Thoughts and prayers go with her, and Kalu as they tread a path nobody wants to travel 🙏
Marydoll I hope you're feeling 'a little bit more like' after an enforced rest yesterday.
Enjoy your days with all their activities everyone x

Georgesgran Thu 22-Jun-23 08:34:36

Good morning from Durham, where it’s bright and sunny. I’ve booked a return trip to Cyprus with my SisinLaw in September- same place I went to last month. I feel quite confident to not get lost there!
Coffee this morning with (who I’ve now realised is) my oldest friend! We met on our first day at work, she was 18 and I, 20, that was 52 years ago and she’ll be 70 tomorrow. I still have an old school friend who lives in Leicester - known her 61years, but rarely see her.
Good to see Mick back. I hope you’d stocked up with plenty of foodstuffs - it may be some time before you’re able to resume your usual activities? Please feel free to share your health concerns, if it will help you adjust to your diagnosis, but we don’t want to pry.
So sorry to read your post MaryD please take it easy.
Missed Urms post too.
Best wishes to all. X

Ziplok Thu 22-Jun-23 08:37:30

Good morning,
Just wanted to send a special hello and welcome back to mick. Glad you are home, take it easy as you recuperate.
Thank you gM for opening up whilst mick has been in hospital.
Not a lot on todays agenda other than the supermarket after my exercise class. Had a good morning in the garden yesterday, cutting back lots of growth before the rain started mid afternoon. It looks neat once more.
Take care, especially those of you unwell or recovering.

ginny Thu 22-Jun-23 08:40:15

Good morning from sunny N Bucks .
Good to see*Mick *back.
I am having a manicure and pedicure this morning , very relaxing.
Sewing club this afternoon. Also have some cakes to make and start thinking about preparing for going away next week.
Healing thoughts for all who need them. A pleasant day wished for everyone.

EkwaNimitee Thu 22-Jun-23 08:56:08

Good Morning Everyone from sunny Carlisle. And especially good morning to you Mick, I hope you're progressing well.
And thanks to you GM, hope the flooring goes well.

I did some planting in the garden yesterday, the soil being much easier to work. My strawberry plants are loaded. I chose to have white ones, partly because I'm curious about their taste and am happy with the reds I can buy, and partly because I thought I wouldn't have to protect them from the blackbirds. I thought they wouldn't recognise them as being edible. I might be wrong on the last as I see the evil beaks have tried them though they don't seem to have been back for more. I'm not sure I'm keen myself, they're a bit too acid for me so they could be heaved out at the end of the season.
I'm a bit muzzy-headed and out of sorts today so I plan a day of gentle pottering and reading.

Lovely photo, Stillearning, those beaches on Harris are stunning, been there and marvelled.

How frustrating life is for you at the moment, Marydoll, I do hope you get improvements soon.

Wishing you all the best possible day.

Anniebach Thu 22-Jun-23 09:18:00

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

lixy Thu 22-Jun-23 09:20:26

Welcome back Mick. I hope your recovery is swift now you are home and future issues will be dealt with quickly too.
Wishing everyone a calm day.

Blossoming Thu 22-Jun-23 09:59:58

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire, where it’s already 20°C. Heaven knows how hot it will be later.

It’s good to hear from you Mick, hope your recovery is going well.

Good news about Babydoll ❤️ I hope you can get some rest and peace Marydoll, it’s so frustrating to be restricted. I miss being able to go to exhibitions at the museum and art gallery, browse the market and other shops. MrB is a bit of a ‘fusser’ too, you have my sympathy!

Thinking of Kalu, Gingster, Urms and all who are dealing with illness right now. 🌹

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 22-Jun-23 10:13:25

Good Morning all from sunny Prestwick. Welcome back Mick was going to phone you when I get back if we hadn't heard from you. Thank you GrandMattie for keeping us together. Yesterday we took a trip to Ayr, and yes, it is as bad as everyone says. Prestwick, on the other hand, is quite delightful. How the mighty have fallen. As Children Ayr was the place to go, whereas Prestwick was a dump. The beach really needs the Bathing Lake back. Picture (if it materialises shows what's left of the bathing lake (now cycle tracks). Ironically Prestwick's last hotel was demolished last year, whereas there are plenty in Ayr.
Have the best day possible folks!

Marydoll Thu 22-Jun-23 10:51:21

Gwen, I'm trying to work out which end that is. Then again I can't manage the whole prom these days.

Have you discovered my favourite boutiques yet? wink.

Taichinan Thu 22-Jun-23 11:45:46

Oh dear Gwen that does look forlorn and unloved! The demolition of the last hotel says it all.

Marydoll Thu 22-Jun-23 11:49:04

We actually watched the demolition of that hotel. It was quite a sad experience.

There are however, some newer ones remaining.
