I found Rick Astley - DD used to love his music, I used to hear his voice wafting downstairs and I must say his voice is still very strong, unlike some other performers.

Loved Rick Astley. Very polished performance.

Lewis Capaldi writes the most beautiful songs but felt he was struggling tonight.

Yes his Tourette’s seemed particularly challenging during his performance. Good set but I wish he’d kept his shirt on.

Watching right ow.
Obviously, don’t want to watch end to end.
Only watch interesting artists.

Quite entertaining, actually.
Looking forward to Elton John.

Just to mention - Kingsley Ward has (at last!) been awarded an MBE in the King's Honours List.

Loving Lewis Capaldi. Also enjoyed Chrissie Hynde with Johnny Marr and Rick Astley and The Blossoms

I live in Gosport now and could hear Robbie Williams in my garden! The sound really carried across the Solent.

Preferred to watch him on the telly though. grin

Same here with Tom Jones. Such a powerful voice!!

Always try to catch some of it. Just watching Chrissie Hynde. Fabulous. But never been. Never wanted to. Have done Isle of Wight glamping in a yurt to see Queen and Adam Lambert. Breathtaking!! Go to Hyde Park every year to their British Summer Time festivals Saw Stones and Eagles on consecutive nights last year. This year we have the mighty Springsteen, then Billy Joel then 2nd Springsteen night. Cannot wait!!

I went to Glastonbury in 1970 with my friend Elaine. We took the train to Bath from Oxford were we were picked up by my Mums friend who lived nearby dropped us at Pilton Farm. We were carrying metal framed canvas rucksacks and it was pouring with rain. The festival site was pretty rudimentary with just 1 stage ( the Pyramid I guess) which from memory was made from scaffold poles and had a corrugated roof. It was terribly muddy, we stayed for a bit , then decided the rain was so bad that we would walk back to my Mums friends house ( who was Dutch) for a hot bath and comfy bed-ohhh the folly of youth! Earlier in the summer I driven in Mums Mini traveller to the Bath & West Blues Festival at Shepton Mallett with a crowd of friends , the weather was glorious and the 'line up' amazing! My Mum was so trusting and in her word must have 'had kittens' . I didn't let her down and the Bath & West Festival was unforgettable - sadly my dear tolerant Mum died this January aged 98.

I was at The Isle of Wight Festival last week Glamping. Had a great weekend. Debbie Harry was really good. Enjoyed the whole event even Robbie Williams (not a fan) he knows how to play a festival Taken me all week to recover though!

My daughter, her wife and their daughter have been at Glastonbury with their camper van since Thursday. Looks like they're having a wonderful time. Can't say I envy them - iffy loos, camping, crowds: not my thing. Went to the first Isle of Wight festival in 1968 when the Doors were playing. It was the year before their first huge one and wasn't too enormous, though the loos were woefully awful. Also, saw the Who and the Yardbirds at the Richmond jazz festival in '65. My dad thought I shouldn't go - he worried I'd Go To The Bad. I'll just say, I did my best..

The Doors were part of the 1970 line up.

We're away at the moment but watched quite a bit last night on tv. Will catch up with the rest when we get home. Can't say I've ever fancied going, not keen on big crowds, mud or camping! The year before Covid, my cousin was lucky to be invited to go by an old school friend who'd made a lot of money. They flew in by helicopter, stayed in a really plush caravan and had VIP tickets to everything & everywhere - now, I'm sure I could manage that!!

I don't think you necessarily have to be an avid fan of a particular band or artist to appreciate that their music does have merit. I've got quite eclectic taste in music and while there are some very popular artists I might not like from a personal point of view, I can appreciate the talent involved. I was just a bit too young for The Beatles, but there are some of their tracks which are timeless classics.

Some of the best live acts I’ve seen have been people whose music I wouldn’t necessarily listen to eg Rory Gallagher, The Waterboys. And have been disappointed seeing bands whose music I listen to all the time eg Kasabian (too loud).

I think a camper van would be preferable to a tent
