Just an occasional poster but wanted to say- glad to see you are home*Mick*,hope your recovery is trouble free. Just back from our Friday treat of cake and coffee at the garden centre and as usual couldn’t resist a tray of plants. Hope everyone has a nice day.

Thank you monk08
And hello to you

Taichinan Fri 23-Jun-23 09:57:54

Good morning all from an Angus coast many of you will envy by the sounds of it - cool, still, damp but with signs of brightening.
Mick lovely to have you opening for us again, and I hope your recouperation goes well.
Oops what a nightmare! As others are saying, take a day to get your strength back - washing can wait, and your health is important.
What lovely garden photos today! My kind of gardens, both.
My Dil's 50th birthday is racing towards me at a great rate of knots and I have absolutely no idea what to get her. Any ideas, anyone? I've asked DS, but his reply was a groan and "Don't ask!"
This afternoon we have a meeting with all the tai chi instructors just to make sure we're all 'together' in what we're teaching, so that when all the classes get together for a workshop, as we do twice a year, we're not too far apart. Actually, if anyone's a bit off track it's likely to be me, so I'm a bit "trepidacious"!
Then tomorrow we're going to the beach to do a few sets in the open air. It's open to all classes, so no idea how many will turn up - the last one pre-covid had nearly 50 turn up, but numbers have been down (but increasing) since then. We'll see.
So off I go - first a wee wander round the garden, then the usual daily tasks. Have a lovely day everyone and thoughts to the sick and worried. flowers Enjoy your day with your DD, Marydoll.

👋 hello and welcome Lilymae

Lilymae Fri 23-Jun-23 09:41:58

Good morning everyone from the Quantock hills it’s cloudy here today
I’m a lurker but wanted to wish mick well and pleased to read he’s back home .
Also hope Marydoll soon feels a little better too , and anyone else that’s feeling under the weather

Blossoming Fri 23-Jun-23 09:34:15

Good morning everyone from a dull and overcast Lancashire. It’s drizzling and a bit cooler at 17°C.

You are wise and have a quiet day Mick, hope you’re not in too much pain.

What a nightmare Oops, you should rest today if you can.

What beautiful pictures of gardens today, nature is so soothing.

My weak shoulder and arm were giving me grief yesterday. I forget sometimes that I can’t just do what I want when it’s feeling good. Today’s exercises will concentrate on the rotator cuff and triceps.

Thinking of Kalu, Urms and all who are dealing with illness right now. 🌹

Anniebach Fri 23-Jun-23 09:34:12

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Georgesgran Fri 23-Jun-23 09:32:12

Good morning from a heavily overcast, muggy Durham.
I’m expecting DD1 to call soon to do a couple of little jobs - easy for her as she’s 6ft tall and I’m not!
Gardeners came yesterday and there are some bare patches in the borders, so a visit to a garden centre later. I’ve one near me, but it’s more cafe than plants, so must go further afield.
Dog walk later, which I’m quite enjoying - saw a deer and the barn owl last night.
I too hope you haven’t just been discharged and dumped Mick and you have some local support. BIL spent hours talking to Macmillan - they might be worth a call.
Another week over - I know it’s an age thing, but doesn’t time fly!
Best wishes to all. X

hollysteers Fri 23-Jun-23 09:29:21

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast.
Good to hear from you again Mick and your journey home sounds a nightmare Oops
Yesterday a recital and meet up with friend. He found the classical concert heavy going (“Where’s the candelabra for the piano?”) he joked) but I liked it. Then we had lunch and talked for over three hours, both blaming each other for being gasbags…
Night before I sang a lot at a folk club and found more clubs I coukd go to. It could become a way of life, although this one isn’t particularly friendly, people rather introverted, but it doesn’t bother me.
Off to art now and thoughts as always, to those with troubles.

Auntieflo Fri 23-Jun-23 09:17:16

Good morning Mick, lovely to have you back and opening up, Annie and all.
Many thanks to GrandMattie for doing a sterling job in the meantime.
I have a haircut this morning, so mustn't dawdle. It was supposed to be yesterday, but I missed it.
I blame the call I was expecting from a neurologist. The call eventually came through, but so late. Meanwhile, everywhere I went, I took the phone with me. Loo, shower, garden etc. He concluded that I haven't had a TIA / stroke, and had never heard of symptoms like mine before. I am a one off. I always knew it 😳
Sorry to hear that you were so unwell on your journey home Oops, as others have said, just rest today, and blow the laundry.
The garden pictures are beautiful, and I so enjoyed just sitting in ours, reading, snoozing and generally soaking up the shaded sun and the gentle sounds from other gardens. We have a rose that has 'woken ' itself up this year, and the perfume is wonderful.
Marydoll, best of luck with your new meds brave lady.
Have a good day one and all.

GrannySomerset Fri 23-Jun-23 08:46:51

My sympathies to Oops - I developed food poisoning at the start of a rail journey home from Athens and remember well how awful it was, some sixty years ago. Hope today is better for her. Good to see Mick back and recovering at home, though I hope he has some support. Sorry Marydoll is having such a rotten week.

Feels much cooler this morning though not for long, I suspect. Oldies coffee morning, a supper gathering this evening so a social day. Hope we all have a good enough one.

EkwaNimitee Fri 23-Jun-23 08:39:42

Good morning everyone, good to see you back Mick and I hope you are soon back on form. It's nearly time for the Tour de France so a good excuse to put your feet up and watch others exerting themselves!

Yesterday I just pottered through various little jobs that had accumulated. Today I have a few more to finish off including booking hotels and trains for each end of a holiday. Yesterday I was relieved to find the next wave of train strikes did not coincide with trains booked for another trip.
I am still reading my book about the navigator Barents explorations of the NE passage, it is definitely not a book to be reading in the winter, it's making me feel rather cool in the summer heat here!

Oops, I feel for you...what a hideous journey, do take it easy today.

How lovely to have your friend back Ash and lucky for her to be able to get her old home back.

Do have a good day, all.

Sar53 Fri 23-Jun-23 08:34:04

Good morning from a sunny Essex by the sea.
I had my hair cut yesterday afternoon. It's very thick so it feels good to have it thinned out.
DH and I ended up eating out last night. Two days in a row.
I'm having some pampering at lunchtime ready for tomorrow.
It looks like it will be a scorcher so I am pleased that the room we have booked has air con.
Sorry to hear of your travel problems Oops, I hope you feel better today.
Take it easy Mick and hopefully you will soon be back on your feet.
Have a lovely Friday everyone xxx

Ziplok Fri 23-Jun-23 08:33:57

Good morning,

Very overcast here, but still warm. Gave in and got up early as it was too warm in bed.

Glad you are taking things gradually, mick and I imagine you are glad to be back home.

Oh dear, oops, how unpleasant for you. I agree with other posters - leave the washing today and spend the day relaxing, rehydrating and getting your strength back.

Beautiful garden pictures, they really cheer the soul.

Hope all of you under the weather/recovering soon feel better.

Greyduster Fri 23-Jun-23 08:33:21

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from an overcast South Yorkshire. Mick don’t overdo it now you’re home! The gardener did a grand job of cutting the hedges yesterday. They will now be more manageable going forward. Not a lot on the cards today - a drive over to the garden centre I think, and cut the front lawn later.
Have a good day folks.

Wyllow3 Fri 23-Jun-23 08:31:51

Good Morning from a currently overcast S Yorks. I hope the sun comes out for a meet up at the botanical Gardens around lunchtime.

Im the meantime I have the dreaded chemists' weekly visit - only dreaded because you can get queues of 10 or 12 people so will go early.

Good to see you back in Mick.

May poorlies be as well as you can and enjoy any outings or family.

Very nice garden pix.

Gala Fri 23-Jun-23 08:30:50

Good morning from a dull & overcast Sefton. It is still very warm with rain forecast. Hot & sticky - lovely, can't wait. 🥵
Another late start for me this morning. I was woken at 8 with a cup of tea. I must be getting the hang of sleeping past dawn.
2 Zoom exercise classes this morning, first an 'old fashioned' aerobics class then a lovely gentle stretch one called Flo. Oops I mean Flow. Later on I'll join a Zoom class on plant based foods & nutrition. This will be daily for a week. We eat lots of veg but I seem to have got stuck in a rut of buying & cooking the same veg in the same way. So I'm hoping for inspiration & motivation.
Will return (a lot) later to catch up with you all. Must get cracking right now.
Good to see Mick back with us & hopefully well on the road to recovery. Take care Mick, don't overdo it.

Marydoll Fri 23-Jun-23 08:20:42

Grandmabatty, its pouring here, so I will have a utility room full of abandoned, wet golf gear to look forward too which will probably remain there until Monday, the next golfing day. 🤬.
I am exceedingly grumpy today, as you may have gathered! 😉

ginny Fri 23-Jun-23 08:10:08

Good morning everyone.
Hope your recovery goes well Mick and also others who are feeling under par today.
I have a hair appointment in an hour so must get going.
Lunch out with a couple of friends later. Other jobs to be done on my return.
Wishing all a good day.

Grandmabatty Fri 23-Jun-23 08:08:52

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and very cloudy. Showers are forecast. Didn't you know, Marydoll, it never rains on a golf course? 😂 My dad used to tell me that as he was heading out. Ash that's wonderful that your friend is back beside you. Oops how awful for you. A restful day ahead is what's needed. Mick good to have you back.
Yesterday I had a quiet day pottering around. It was what I needed. Some dead heading of flowers, sweeping up leaves in the garden and general tidying in the house.
Today I might go food shopping and then more doing very little. Have a good day all

brook2704 Fri 23-Jun-23 08:01:34

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve some light grey cloud but another warm day is forecast and maybe some rain later
Good to see you back mick, take it easy and hope your recovery goes well
What an awful journey Oops, take it easy today
I’m off to the gym first thing then a trip to Tesco, nothing much else planned except someone is calling later to quote for repairing our steps from the back door don’t down to the garden, I noticed the other day that they’d dropped quite a bit.
What a gorgeous garden and view Gingster, so relaxing and glammagran a gorgeous garden too, hope your back is better soon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

RosesandLilac Fri 23-Jun-23 07:54:41

Good morning from the cool Cotswolds, weather-wise 😊
Oh how I can empathise Oops, I’m a lousy traveller, I don’t need food poisoning or anything else to end up wishing myself elsewhere!
Yesterday I cleaned and tidied all morning, I was wiped out by the afternoon! Washing dried beautifully, all put away.
Today I’m meeting a dear friend for coffee at a garden centre, I will struggle to not by something I know!
Have a lovely day 🌹

BlueSapphire Fri 23-Jun-23 07:50:59

Good morning everyone from a rather overcast Northampton,.but sun forecast later.

My.usual Friday of getting the bus to the shops, coffee and a snack in M&S,.and a top-up shop.
Then sit and read this afternoon, or if it's not to hot, cut the front grass. Decided against it yesterday as it was so uncomfortably hot when I got back from ballet.

Glad that your recovery is going well Mick, and wishing all feeling poorly well.

kittylester Fri 23-Jun-23 07:49:21

Morning all! North Leicestershire is muggy and dull. We had no rain yesterday so dh had to water the new planting. It appears that the rest of Leicestershire had Biblical rain yesterday as the school where one son in law works is closed due to roof damage.

I need to nip to the butcher's this morning and then we are meeting DS1 for lunch. After that, we are picking up Bertie, Persie and Wondrous Wolfie from nursery and school as DD has a meeting.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Grammaretto Fri 23-Jun-23 07:44:58

Good morning Mick and all from the Scottish Borders where it looks to be about to rain.

I'm working at my volunteer job this morning. Tonight I have a hot ticket for DGS school musical in Edinburgh. I'm to get there early to get a good seat! Yesterday he was performing at the Highland Show in a brass band. #proudgran

Oops do take it easy today. Your journey home must have been awful.

I hope Mick's recovery continues well. Great to hear gMattie is settling in.

The climbing rose is stunning glammagran

Have a happy day everyone.
We still miss our Friday girl and Urms and Kalu .
Haste ye back
