Good morning Mick good to see you back and hope that your recovery goes well.
Journey home from Cyprus was eventful, I started being sick as the plane trundled along the runway for take off ( sickbag and a carrier bag were given to me as the loos were locked) and I pretty much continued in that way for the whole flight, thank goodness most of the passengers were asleep, our flight was delayed, so I pretty much could trot along to the loo every 20 minutes ( sometimes, out of the loo and turned around and went straight back in) without having to queue, a nightmare and I felt so ill, I just wanted to lay down and sleep.
However the cabin crew were very kind and gave me a blanket as I was so shivery and plenty of cups of water, I was pretty much in the loo the whole of the way home. Apologies to anyone who tried to use the loo I was in!
Pleased to be home!! But My throat and ribs are so sore that I have a job to move.
Anyway, lots of washing to do today.
Holiday seems a long time ago.
Note to self, avoid mushroom pizza for lunch when you are going to fly that evening.

Hope everyone has a good day, virtual hugs for those who are unwell or stressed.

Gosh Oops! I was once sick all the way back from Paris - on the train, the hovercraft from Boulogne, train back to London. I used almost the whole supply of sick bags and OH was on the verge of calling an ambulance. All due to a ‘poison’ ice cream.
Welcome back Mick. Onwards and upwards.
So morning all from a warm West Oxfordshire. I’ve still quite a bit of admin to do. We may go out for lunch today. Not sure. I’ve also got to keep an eye open for a sort of small wooden bench to go in the hall. I had found and ordered the perfect one. Yesterday I had an email to say the company has had to close. Fortunately I’m getting a full refund. Have a good day.

Good morning from a sunny Bristol. Nice to see you back, Mick.
Yesterday, I had a very vigorous t’ai chi session and the girls to dinner while DSiL went off to Glastonbury. He works there every year.
Today, I’ve got to go to the library, otherwise empty.
Prayers for the poorlies. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a sunny Torbay following a rather warm night which made sleep difficult.

What a horrendous journey for you, Oopsadaisy1! Such a rotten end to your holiday. I would let the washing wait and have a restful, rehydrating day so your body can recover.

It must be lovely to be recuperating at home, Mick! Take good care of yourself.

Yesterday, I had the joy of visiting a friend and neighbour who was forced to move out last August because her landlord was selling her flat. The new owners put it up for rental and my lovely friend was so unhappy in her new flat that she has moved back in! Needless to say, I am delighted! It was like old times to be enjoying a cuppa together.

My car is being serviced today and having (yet another!) rattle investigated! It’s now nearly seven years old so I’m beginning to wonder if it’s time to trade it in. I’ve owned it from new and love it so am reluctant to change.

Have a good day, everyone and keep cool! 🦩💐😎🥰🦩

Good morning from s somerset and it will be a very pleasant warm day

Lovely to see Mick back and taking it steady for now

I had a little thinking time about how much food prices are now, so I finished clearing a small patch of woody flowers and planted leftover courgette and tomato plants. Already today, they look well. Then I noted down and compared a list of 8 of my regular fresh organics and even taking petrol into account, I will save several £ by changing my shopping habit, while still getting similar organics.

I need some exercise today so will get myself out later

Have a lovely day

Good morning Mick and all from an airless Cornwall where I'm using my new neck fan so a lovely breeze is wafting around. A good art session yesterday where my 25-year-old 'student' discovered what happens when you spray diluted washing up liquid on to acrylic paint. She loved it and is back for more next week.

Today I must go and top up my allotment pond and see how my froglets are growing and pick some perennial rocket.

glammagran Fri 23-Jun-23 06:36:38

Good morning to you all.

Not the best week. I had a tummy bug towards the end of last week and in my rush to reach the loo to throw up I have put my back out. Still painful now but has now improved abit. I was terrified my DD2 and family would become ill as they were travelling to Devon last Saturday for a few days and we had a BBQ for them last Thursday but everyone else has been fine. One downer for them was that DD2’s partner’s brother travelled down to Devon to join them. En route their rescue dog, a 2 year old British bull terrier died suddenly in their car. When I first saw it at Christmas I thought I’d never seen a sicker looking dog. I guess it was the inbreeding but have to say I thought it was a hideous looking dog that wheezed, drooled and panted with huge effort constantly and had since developed epilepsy. Owners are blaming themselves unreasonably, but I’ve no idea why they took on such a dog.

Before that, we visited the other GP’s and their most beautiful garden for afternoon tea. They have a rose that has climbed about 30 feet into a tree and looks stunning with hundreds of flowers.

Very best wishes to Mick, Urmstongran, Kalu, Gingster, Marydoll and to anyone else unwell or under the weather.

Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Lovely to see you back Mick take care on your road to recovery.
Oops what a horrendous journey for you I would do as Ash says leave the washing and give yourself time to recover.
Well ours friends should be here by lunchtime depending on the traffic so I'll finish off bits I need to do and catch up with everybody's happenings later.
Enjoy your Friday everyone and may you all find some ☀️.

NotAGran55 Fri 23-Jun-23 06:47:56

Good morning from sunny West Berkshire. It’s great to see you back at the helm at the helm Mick and I hope your recovery will be full and quick.
After doing a bit of office work I will have a trip out to Marlborough today to say goodbye to the lovely owner of the ‘No Packaging Included’ shop. She is moving away and has sold her fantastic business to a customer.
There’s a Mistral shop there with a sale on too and a Waitrose for the grocery shop so killing a few birds with one stone.
A peaceful day and best wishes to all with troubles in their lives.

Marydoll Fri 23-Jun-23 06:50:55

Good morning all from a damp Glasgow, where its 14°C. We have big drama this morning, DH has mislaid his waterproof golf trousers and of course, heavy rain is forecast.

It is good to see you back Mick, I hope you have some support to help your recovery.

Oops, I hope you feel better soon, I once had a migraine the morning I flew back from Rome, with a change at Heathrow. I just wanted to die, so I can empathise..

Ash, I know what you mean about cars. Mine is now out of warranty and starting to make the odd creak. When I mentioned changing my car ( I used to do it every two years), DH not realising how blunt he was, said it would be a waste of money, because I wouldn't be using it for much longer. 😱 Tact is not his strong point and it is a touchy subject just now.

Yesterday was another groundhog day, with very little done. DD has taken the day off, so that we can spend time together. 💕 and my new immunotherapy injections will be delivered. I now need to bite the bullet and start the treatment, but I have become a wimp!

Wishing you all a gentle day and my best wishes to all who are poorly or have worries..

GrannyGravy13 Fri 23-Jun-23 06:57:27

Morning all,

Good to have you back Mick take care and get lots of rest.
Oopsadaisy how horrible for you, rest today and forget the washing.

Whilst we were cheering on my dear friends horse at Ascot yesterday (he won) the news came in of debris found of the submersible Titan, bitter sweet.

Off to the gym first thing, then pick up The Imp from pre-school, lots of playing until
we pick up his 8yr old brother from school. They are here for a sleepover, we asked where they wanted to go for dinner and they chose the Indian, so that’s where we are off to this evening.

(((Hugs))) to those in need

Have a good day 🙋‍♀️🦩

Whitewavemark2 Fri 23-Jun-23 07:03:01

Good morning from a sunny South Downs.

Pacemaker checkup for DH this morning. He is going every 6 months now as apposed to once a year as the battery is getting old.

After we are out to lunch, maybe the marina - overlooking the boats and sea or a pub overlooking the Sussex Weald - decide later.

Yesterday finished vaxing the sitting room rug and blimey what a difference. Shall do the hall runner next week, and then buff up the parquet.

Must try to remember to plant out the salvias today, or at the very least water them!

Support to all in difficulties and everyone have a good day.

luluaugust Fri 23-Jun-23 07:06:40

Good morning from N Wales. Welcome back to Mick and sorry about your journey Oops
Unfortunately similar story here standing in the sun listening to a guide in the hot sun has seen me up half the night. Luckily day to ourselves today so no need to do much. Take care all

baubles Fri 23-Jun-23 07:13:18

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where it feels a bit cooler.

Look after yourself Mick, it will feel good to be back home.

What a horrible experience Oops, I’d be taking it very easy today.

We’re off to Edinburgh although I’m not sure what we will do with ourselves if the weather changes. It’s been ages since we’ve had to stay indoors with the children.

Have the best day possible everyone.

harrigran Fri 23-Jun-23 07:14:27

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Yesterday was a beautiful day with full sun all day.
DS came after work, we had dinner together and then went to the supermarket, sadly a lot of produce missing by that time of day but still ran up a hefty bill.
It is elder sister's last day in the UK, a brief visit this afternoon is all that is planned.
Take care Mick it is early days.
Thoughts are with those who are poorly.

Jaxjacky Fri 23-Jun-23 07:15:11

Morning from sunny S Hants and welcome back Mick gently does it.
You must be shattered Oops washing can wait, get some rest.
Tesco delivery this afternoon, a friend is calling for coffee this morning and pub tonight. The pub will be busy, a real effort has been made by the new tenants and the outside planting is glorious.
Enjoy your day 🦩

Pittcity Fri 23-Jun-23 07:24:41

Good morning from sunny Colchester. I have ordered a couple of small bedside fans as the 2 we have are not enough, so have to wait in for delivery this morning. I shall take the opportunity to tackle the ironing before a cold shower.
I need to pop out for more food later as DS crept in unexpectedly after I'd gone to bed. He'll probably be asleep or with his gf all weekend.
Love to all 🦩 x

Nannagarra Fri 23-Jun-23 07:33:12

Good morning from Sefton. It’s cooler and fresher than of late; yet to come is the blazing sun.
Another here who was once unwell on a flight and feels your pain Oops. Is it possible to ignore the washing for the time being?
What a beautiful, inviting garden, glamma.
It’s good to see you back Mick. Thinking of Urms, Kalu and those who are struggling.
🌻

Gingster Fri 23-Jun-23 07:35:13

Good morning all and another glorious start to the day here at the Suffolk seaside. It’s so peaceful and calm . Me and little pooch were sitting out early this morning , only the sound of the sea lapping, birds singing and bees buzzing. Balm to the soul!

Dh did lots of work in the garden yesterday, clearing and strimming. He even did next doors small patch. He seems to have more energy and motivation while we are here.

My cooker has lots wrong with it and I’m trying to get someone along to have a look. Waited all day for a call back which never came! As bad as trying to get the doc to phone.
I think a new ones is on the cards. Might get an air fryer to tide me over, or I could always bring the one from ‘home’ each time we come.🤔.

Marydoll enjoy your day with your DD. It will lift your spirits.
Mick speedy recovery 🤞.
Oops how awful for you. Nothing worse than being ill while you’re away , especially on the journey. Poor you! Take it easy today and look after yourself.
Ash how lovely for you to have your friend/neighbour back. It was meant to be.
GG congrats on your friends horse winning. How exciting. 🏇🏻.
Enjoy your days 🌸

Beechnut Fri 23-Jun-23 07:35:51

Good morning everyone from Severnside.
Oh dear Oops, mushrooms are the one thing that if I eat too many my tum feels not good. The washing will always be there so rest up for now.

Weekly shop this morning, changing bed and putting on 1 tog quilt as I’m just lying on the bed at night with no covers as it’s so warm.
I might go to a concert tonight. Depends how I feel as I’ve had a few aches after a garden chair broke and I fell on the ground on my dodgy hip side.

Take care all 💐

Marydoll Fri 23-Jun-23 07:39:18

What lovely garden pictures.

Grammaretto Fri 23-Jun-23 07:44:58

Good morning Mick and all from the Scottish Borders where it looks to be about to rain.

I'm working at my volunteer job this morning. Tonight I have a hot ticket for DGS school musical in Edinburgh. I'm to get there early to get a good seat! Yesterday he was performing at the Highland Show in a brass band. #proudgran

Oops do take it easy today. Your journey home must have been awful.

I hope Mick's recovery continues well. Great to hear gMattie is settling in.

The climbing rose is stunning glammagran

Have a happy day everyone.
We still miss our Friday girl and Urms and Kalu .
Haste ye back

kittylester Fri 23-Jun-23 07:49:21

Morning all! North Leicestershire is muggy and dull. We had no rain yesterday so dh had to water the new planting. It appears that the rest of Leicestershire had Biblical rain yesterday as the school where one son in law works is closed due to roof damage.

I need to nip to the butcher's this morning and then we are meeting DS1 for lunch. After that, we are picking up Bertie, Persie and Wondrous Wolfie from nursery and school as DD has a meeting.

Have the best day possible everyone.

BlueSapphire Fri 23-Jun-23 07:50:59

Good morning everyone from a rather overcast Northampton,.but sun forecast later.

My.usual Friday of getting the bus to the shops, coffee and a snack in M&S,.and a top-up shop.
Then sit and read this afternoon, or if it's not to hot, cut the front grass. Decided against it yesterday as it was so uncomfortably hot when I got back from ballet.

Glad that your recovery is going well Mick, and wishing all feeling poorly well.
