Has anyone been to a pop concert on their own.
Last year booked tickets for a concert with my daughter, for this weekend ,but she is unable to go.
Asked 2 or 3 friends but they genuinely have other plans.
Train, hotel, tickets, been booked for a while.
I'm going to brave it , and go by myself , just wondered if anyone has done this ?

I'm considering going to Iceland alone to see the Northern lights if my sons dont fancy it too.

Of course go alone! I often choose to go alone.

I go to most places alone, including concerts. I can usually chat to people there and the event sort of unites you as you have a shared interest. Best one I ever went to was at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton which was a tribute to the late Marc Bolan and T Rex. It was a play about his life illustrated by his music. Having been a HUGE fan when I was young, I adored it and was singing along and bopping in the aisles with people I’d only just met. Do go, you’ll have such a fun time!

Yes me twice now. It’s really not as daunting as you make out in your head. No one knows you’re on your own as your friends could be queuing for the drinks. Go you’ll have great time.

Went to an outdoor Tom Jones concert by myself. Ive gone to local Theatre and Cinema numerous times by myself it doesnt worry me as you dont go to chat but to watch. I do chat to others in intervals.

Definitely go! I went to see Rod Stewart at a stadium in my then home town. You forget you are on your own once it starts. Didn't have travel, hotel etc but would still have gone!

Yes - been to several festivals alone and also large concerts - usually staying in hotels - no one I know likes my sort of music. It's getting there now that stops me as I can't drive in the dark and we're much further from the motorway now. Go for it - you'll enjoy it!

I will be going to a concert on my own tomorrow in the city centre to see Grimethorpe Colliery Band (think Brassed Off). I’ve been to concerts on my own before when DH and I didn’t have a shared in the music, but we both loved the Grimethorpe.
Do go to your pop concert and enjoy it!👏🏻

I was going to a live concert with my friend but she wasn’t well and I also didn’t know what to do but in the end I went on my own and got chatting to two other people in the hotel and they asked me to join them so in the end I wasn’t on my own I didn’t miss out. I’ve even gone to cinema on my own no one thinks anything about it nowadays

I often go to concerts (and the theatre & cinema) on my own - the advantages are that I don't need to think or worry about someone else, and you can more often get a 'single' good ticket.
Have never been to a 'pop' concert - even when young - but assume they're no different to any other!

Nannan2 I went to Iceland on my own and loved it. Just go for it!

I haven't been to one on my own but would be prepared to - not much choice if I ever want to see a concert again now I am a widow. I have over £100 worthof theatre tokens so thinking of starting with that to dip my toe into solitary excursions. I have no problem going to a pub on my own so see no reason why a concert or the theatre would be different, there are always people to talk to.

Went to Brighton on my own to see Leonard Cohen. Stayed overnight. Fabulous time. Go for it!

Just before covid I got an email advertising a concert for Billy Ocean at my town hall. I looked up the seats and there was one solitary seat left at the end of row 3! Didn't hesitate! Had a great night up dancing in the aisle! Not bad going for in my 70's! A couple of months later I went to Australia (alone) to see my daughter and she said she had booked tickets to see ? Billy Ocean! Another great night! I can't say I am a great fan but I do like his music and any excuse for a boogie! Go for it and have a great time.

Oh I do envy you. I wanted to go and see him in Edinburgh, but the tickets were very expensive and I felt I couldn't really justify the cost. If only I'd known I'd never get the chance again.

You'll have a great time! No one else will notice you're there alone if that's what you're worried about. Just do it!

Used to take my 4 kids to festivals most weekends Or doesn’t that count?
Youngest ones claim to fame is that I lost her for 3 days. She was 3 and went off to sleep with a new best friend. The parents asked me if I was going on to the xxxxx festival and I said I’d see them there. In the morning they’d gone, taking my youngest with them. And I couldn’t remember which festival they’d said. Spent nearly 3 days driving around the countryside searching for the right one. Youngest was happy enough and hadn’t missed me or her brothers and sister

What a shame Bllondiescot. I saw him 3 times in Ireland. Wonderful memories. But lots on YouTube.

Yes, lots of times, including Paul McCartney, Coldplay, Take That in London / Wembley, Macca In Birmingham, loads of concerts at my local venue, and the old V Festival a couple of times on s day ticket (camped at festivals with three kids under 12, but not alone).

I like going to the cinema alone too. Actually I like most things alone!

Yes I have. Paul Simon’s farewell concert in Hyde Park 2018. Tickets, train and hotel booked to go with friend who had to cancel 3 days before we were due to go. I still went having sold my friend’s ticket for her via the Paul Simon Facebook page. Met up with the purchaser and his friend in London to exchange ticket/money. Went to the concert with them and had a blast! They escorted me back to my hotel and I arrived home unscathed!
