Good morning Mick and all who follow. It's cool and sunny on the Angus coast but rain is forecast from mid morning onwards. This intermittent rain does save having to water the garden, so a blessing.
Mick your impatience is palpable, but don't try to cut corners - just let everything take its slow and healing course. And enjoy the cycling.
Your day was very varied and busy yesterday Ash, but no wonder you were tired!
In fact what busy days you all are having now that that heat has abated a little.
Little to report from here. Tai chi this morning, which is always lovely, then home for a visit from the mouse catcher (!) followed by the usual relaxing afternoon.
Enjoy your days everyone x

Good Morning Tuesday 27th June 2023
(46 Posts)Good morning.
Just a few bits and bobs to load and then will will be off on holiday. We will stop somewhere near Weston Super Mere tonight and travel on to our friends in Brixham tomorrow., meeting up wit another couple of friends there. We have all know each other for over 40 years and our families grew up together. So, lots of chat and reminiscing ahead.
Wishing all a good day with special thoughts for those with health or other problems .
Granny Gravy re Olympic Park, I go with a couple of friends and we always end up at the same place ‘Cafe Concerto’. It’s just outside of the Mall.
Good morning everyone from Severnside. It’s overcast here and cooler which feels better.
Take things steady Mick and you will get there.
I’ve a job to do today for my brother so have decided not to go swimming. I’ll probably go tomorrow once I’ve checked the timetable.
Have a good day all 🌺
Good morning all from a very wet Glasgow, where its only 13°C.
Mick, I know it is difficult to accept, but it will take ages for things to settle down.
There are a few on this thread, who have been through similar and I'm sure they will reiterate this and be able to reassure you.
Ash, we used to have fire extinguisher training, when I was teaching, I was always the first to volunteer to try them out and remember once soaking our janitor, who was at the other end of the playground, I didn't realise how far the range was. 🤒
It was even more fun, when the fire service 🚒 came. Oh those uniforms! 😉
Today is Mr MD's birthday. Normally, we would be out and about on trip doon the watter or into Glasgow for lunch, but I'm still really struggling. Instead DD and SIL will come for takeaway and DH has asked if we could go and visit Babydoll, depending on how I am. We will of course get a video call from his our beloved Dollie, who is having a ball in Villamoura. 💚
The children have all clubbed together to buy him a beer dispenser, complete with mini kegs. I will now need to rearrange my kitchen to accommodate it, for it will obviously take pride of place and my Kitchen Aid will literally be knocked off its place on the shelf. 😔
I had to hide it in the spare room, under a pile of charity bags.
I have wakened with the most horrendous cough and no amount of chest physio is clearing it, so we will play it by ear.
I have convinced myself that this is in fact a good sign and my medication is starting to clear my lungs. # Hope springs ever eternal! 😉
Enjoy your cycling.
I spoke too soon about my new heart meds, my BP has shot up again and there were a few heart episodes yesterday. C'est la vie! However, there are no side effects as yet from the biologics, that's a first!🤞
Yesterday the Ebay Queen phoned me as soon as the golfers left, ( her DH and mine play together).
She had noticed I hadn't been about and that my car hadn't moved. She was shocked at my news, as DH had said nothing to her DH! I wondered why my friends were so quiet. Men!
While we were chatting, I said I wasn't feeling too good and would need to cut the call short. At that point the phone went dead. I tried to phone her back, but couldn't get through. Then the landline rang, it was her, thinking I had collapsed, because she couldn't get through me on my mobile. There were a few @#x*s, she had got such a fright.
It was my other friend across the road's birthday yesterday, but I had to send DH across with her gift, I was too dizzy. I then got a really sad text from her. Her SIL, who has a poorly baby and a daughter in Dollie's class has been recently diagnosed with MND, has deteriorated so dramatically he is not expected to live beyond Christmas. 😪
Our families ( including EB queen) have all been friends for forty years and I have taught some of the children and their friends.) Life is so cruel.
For those of you who have faith, please keep this family in your prayers.
For those on holiday, enjoy and thoughts and prayers for all the poorlies. I got a PM from a poster, I don't know, yesterday, what a lovely lady. Thank you.
P.S. grandMattie, I too love shocking pink and can wear it, now that my hair is no longer carrot orange!
Good morning from a cool and cloudy Suffolk. Off for my annual blood test this morning and then the last, until September, of the Arts Society lectures in Aldeburgh. It is about the paintings and wit of Winston Churchill and Noel Coward. The 2 friends I go with and I usually follow the session with lunch by the sea.
Are you taking orders,GrandMattie for dresses? I’m going to India in October and shocking pink seersucker sounds just right for coolness and to blend in with vibrant coloured saris!
I hope today is a restful one in body and mind especially for those with ill health and worries. I hope too that Mick is continuing to get help and support from health professionals with his recovery.
Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is shining but it is noticeably cooler.
DH is away for a few days until Saturday so I have a few empties.
A few things planned for the next few days.
Enjoy your day xx
Good morning from an overcast Colchester. Low twenties forecast.
I've swapped my charity shop day this week as I've got a lunch meeting with the local council residents panel. I'll be putting in my four pennyworth on various local plans.
I usually buy a picnic lunch from Waitrose to eat in the Olympic Park GG13. We also like the middle eastern food from the outlets near the Waitrose entrance.
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton, but the sun keeps trying to peek through. A morning of potteting, then health walk after lunch.
Busy day yesterday; yoga first thing, then home where I removed a.few weeks of dust from the sitting room furniture and even cleaned the windows.
After lunch I spent an hour removing weeds from the block paving on the dtive, and then cut the front grass, and trimmed the edges. Had had enough after that so I retired indoors where a reviving small glass of sherry did the trick!
Looks to be dry today, so will just go and round up a load of washing for the machine.
Take it easy Mick, relax and enjoy your cycling on tv!
Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Visitors left early afternoon yesterday, now need to get back to some sort of normal.
DH has appointment for his ICD check up then he wants to go look for some new trainers.
Mick enjoy your cycling.
Marydoll I hope your new drugs are working and you are feeling a bit chirpier.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning from a cooler South Downs.
Planning to tackle the front garden today and rake the little zen garden back to how it should look after the foxes have been playing fast and loose on the gravel.
Then vax the hall runner and clean and polish the parquet.
gg13 Olympic park - we used to take the GC to Jamie’s but that has closed. Can’t say there is much to impress tbh, although we haven’t been for a couple of years, and things change. Lots of usual fast food outlets. The usual stuff to avoid in our case.
mike healing takes much longer than you want it to, so relax and go with the flow.
Roasted ratatouille pasta today
Enjoy your day everyone.
Morning all from a slightly cooler West Oxfordshire. I may be meeting my friend who sometimes behaves badly in restaurants. I couldn’t book a table until after 10 pm and they haven’t got back to confirm yet. I am expecting a telephone call this evening from the lady whose house in North Wales we are renting for a week from Friday. It’s in Cardigan Bay about five miles from Aberystwyth. Have a good day. Thinking of the Urms and others who are suffering.
Good morning all from a cooler and cloudy North Leicestershire.
Early start to take DH to collect his car and then to pick up DS1 to take him for his botox injection at a hospital the other side of Leicester.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning all and I seem to be getting up earlier every day. Just can’t lie there once I’m awake. It’s very still out there and cooler, thank goodness.
We travelled back from Suffolk yesterday and our patio was finished and everything cleared away and tidy. Very pleased with it. Our neighbour did a great job. Another neighbour has been watering our plants and putting out dustbins for us. I must buy him something as appreciation.
Lots of niggles in the family at the moment which is annoying and needless. I’m lying low! 🤔.
I have Bridge club this afternoon so I’ll catch up with everyone’s news over tea and cake in the interval.
Hoping Mick , Marydoll and other poorlies feel a little better today.
Thoughts go to Urms and Kalu. 💐💐
Enjoy the day as much as you can. 🌸
Morning all
Mick you cannot hurry your body’s healing process, frustrated as you must feel, patience and rest is needed. Enjoy the cycling.
I was another busy bee yesterday, today it’s just bed changing and pottering.
Any recommendations for a nice lunch venue at The Olympic Park please?
Have a great day folks 🙋♀️🦩
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and wet. Mick I hope things settle down soon for you. Ash you lead a very varied and busy life! GrandMattie I'm a big fan of shocking pink!
Yesterday was busy with children. Swings, a blether to a neighbour then the garden. Dgs1 was excited to eat the first strawberry from my basket. It was a whopper. He wasn't keen on gooseberries though. Too sour but at the tried them.
Today will be a rerun of yesterday only wetter. Swings then garden I suppose. We will go puddle splashing. Dgs2 hasn't quite got the hang of it yet. Salad for dinner. I'm living on salads at the moment. I can't get enough of them. Very boring 😄. I won't visit mum tonight as I need a break. Have a good day all
Good morning from an overcast Bristol.
I’m glad Marydoll’s new drugs seem to be doing the trick.
I finished my dress yesterday. I’ll probably make another one, in shocking pink cheesecloth, today.
Empty again today.
Hope today brings peace to all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from a cloudy, cooler and dry s somerset
Enjoy the tour Mick and the scenery along the route
Yesterday was very satisfying, loads of washing and housework done without effort and then some knitting and some reading too. First thing today is juice making, carrot, celery and lemon.
I am going out later, a car ride to Wells. The bus takes an hour, is a lovely journey and will be my transport next time. This is lovely for me, more choice of what to do, comes with cooler weather
Have a lovely day
Good morning, it’s a cool, cloudy Cotswolds morning here, hopefully it’s going to be a cooler day too.
Yesterday I achieved little 🤷🏼♀️, doesn’t matter really as I enjoy the quiet life 😊
Today more weeding and enjoying the garden 🌹
Good morning from a warm but cloudy Torbay.
That must be tough for you, Mick, especially if you’re beginning to fancy normal food. I hope your system will gradually settle.
Yesterday, I did rather too much what with a Lidl shop, exercise class and a rehearsal. Prior to the rehearsal, I was at the theatre early to make gas mask boxes. (Dad’s Army) By 9.00 pm, I was visibly wilting and came home with a headache.
Today is lighter as I’ve been excused from Props to attend fire hydrant training at church this morning! I thought I should show willing now I’m on the PCC, although I doubt I could even lift one!
Enjoy whatever the day brings! 🦩🥰😎💐🦩
