On putting a large-ish, empty mayonnaise jar in the dishwasher, I told dh not to put it in the recycling later but keep it - ditto any similar - since it won’t be too long before I’m making C-word mincemeat again. 😱

I detest Christmas. I will not be preparing till last minute. Last year I fell out with everyone, my car was off the road due to needing repairs and the supplier was shut till new year. I couldn’t go far, busses were unreliable, Apart from burying my head in a book I just wanted to hibernate. So The C word not my favourite

I feel sorry for anyone who detests or dreads it - it must make the last 3 months of the year a serious PITA. Personally I love the run up - and the week after - more than the actual day.

I'm a bit like you Witzend, the excitement of all the craft and decorating, then the looking forward to putting it all away for another year. Do love seeing the house back to normal.

I love these long light days and evenings. and the sun and not having to heat the house or tackle snow or the people complications of C mas - no thanks, (shudder) will avoid till unavoidable.
As for food well that what M n S is for, as far as I'm concerned.
