Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve a mix of blue and grey sky with some rain forecast for later
I’ll be doing a quick trip to the gym first thing and then home to do some gardening. There’s always lots to do and the grass needs mowing so hope to get that done before the rain comes in!
Hope you feel well enough to get out and about today Marydoll 😀
Take it easy multicoloured and rest up
Enjoy your family catch up Gingster
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Marydoll Fri 30-Jun-23 08:04:25

That's a shame multi, I'm sure you can rearrange your meet up. Your health comes first and it would be foolish to undo the surgeon's good work..

Cool and grey morning - what a change! Oldies coffee morning outdoors means I will have to find a jacket of some sort, but having complained about the heat ought to be pleased. This evening my afternoon choir is singing at the opening of a local arts festival so another rather long but interesting day. Hope we all have good day.

Good morning from a much cooler Durham. At last little dog has gone home after DD2s holiday, but he’s here again from Sunday, as they have garden work going on. I don’t mind, but it tends to limit what I can do, as I don’t like leaving him alone for hours on end.
Burglar alarm annual service this morning between 10 and 12, then I really need some food shopping and will check on friend’s house as she’s away for a few days.
July tomorrow - how time is flying!
Best wishes to all. X

Grandmabatty

Where is GrandMattie?

Good question, slightly concerning, hope all is well.

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 30-Jun-23 08:15:54

Good morning from an overcast Oxfordshire I’m feeling a lot better today, a shower and hair wash and I’ll feel almost human again, but it has knocked the stuffing out of me a bit, our holiday now feels so far away…..
MrOops is now sneezing, coughing and shivering so our positions have swapped and I will look after him, he was very good when I was unwell so time to return the favour.
I have freezer food if either of us is hungry.
So good to hear of gardening goings on, my veggie garden has been abandoned this year as the rabbits ate everything and with so many weekends and weeks away it didn’t seem worth replanting. MrOops loves his holidays so not much I can do about it.
Oh dear I can hear coughing and spluttering so time to be Florence Nightingale for a bit.
Hope all poorlies soon feel a bit better.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 30-Jun-23 08:19:56

Just back to see if grandMattie had posted, hope all is well.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 30-Jun-23 08:22:05

Morning all. We are off to North Wales for a week this morning. I fear the weather will be a lot cooler and wetter than in West Oxfordshire. Never mind. I hope GM is ok. Thoughts as always with Urms.

monk08 Fri 30-Jun-23 08:29:58

Good morning all from the Black country bit overcast at the moment.
Late up this morning so haven't read through yet, was woken by a buzzing in the bedroom a very large bee had entered managed to get it back outside without any harm to either bee or myself.
May meet up with friends later see how DH feels he was feeling nauseous yesterday might be to do with tablet increase.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Friday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is trying to shine, a little different to the torrential rain we had yesterday.
A few bits and bobs to do this morning then this afternoon I am being picked up to drive to Burnham on Sea where DH and his friend will be arriving in his boat later.
We are all having dinner in a local restaurant then staying the night on the boat. I'm looking forward to it.
I too hope that GM is ok.
Enjoy Friday everyone xxx

grandMattie Fri 30-Jun-23 08:42:40

Sorry chaps, I was on my way to the airport at 0515 going to Orkney via Edinburgh with DS. All well. Looking forward to a few days away. My first proper holiday for about 5 years.

NannyJan53 Fri 30-Jun-23 08:45:59

Good morning from a dull Black Country, where it rained overnight.

Lovely sunny day yesterday. Lunch with Mum, then to see DGD4 (12) in her school musical. It was called Seussical, based on Cat in the Hat. I didn't find her in the cast at first, as I was looking for a little girl. There she was in make up and looking so grown up!

Home to find a letter inviting me to re-apply for my driving licence as I am 70 in September. Also a letter with an appointment for a Mammogram (possibly the last one?)

No plans today, but must catch up on housework.

Hoping gM is ok and your DH feels better soon monk

NannyJan53 Fri 30-Jun-23 08:46:40

Good to hear you are ok gM Crossed posts!

Grammaretto Fri 30-Jun-23 08:53:37

Hello gMattie . Enjoy Orkney!

brook2704 Fri 30-Jun-23 08:55:56

Oooh enjoy Orkney gMattie, I’ll give you a wave as you fly past!

EkwaNimitee Fri 30-Jun-23 08:58:02

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather grey Carlisle.

Yes Mick it can be a bit irritating sometimes, the online shopping. I have to regularly go out for an actual shop in Sainsbury's to get what Tesco's don't have. But the latter have been invaluable to me since lockdowns when no other store would give me a slot and also when I've been unwell.

I didn't get anything planted yesterday, instead I mowed the lawn and deadheaded the roses which are performing beautifully this year. Ironing and mowing were enough for me, later I managed to read an entire book again, another Amazon freebie. Weather permitting, I shall do a bit of planting out today.

You are right about blackbirds being afraid of nothing karmalady. I remember once being stood by one of my large redcurrant bushes when a blackbird flew down and perched on the other side. He gave me a long hard look then ducked his beak and plucked a currant off and ate it in front of me! It had to be a fruit cage after that because I was selfishly not going to surrender my redcurrant jelly prospects to the birds.

GM hope you're just having a sleep in after a poor night.

Have the best possible day everyone.

EkwaNimitee Fri 30-Jun-23 08:59:14

Crossed post GM...that sounds lovely. Have a good time.

Taichinan Fri 30-Jun-23 09:18:42

Good morning all from a grey and chilly Angus coast. Glad to see you pop in grandmattie. You said DS was staying overnight so I was imagining you immersed in preparing a huge breakfast feast! Enjoy Orkney.
I'm off out to meet a young friend for lunch today at a restaurant in the middle of nowhere! It always seems to attract the best chefs for some reason and has an excellent reputation. DP and I used to go there a lot, and this is his ex-DiL I am meeting, so appropriate. It's a lovely drive there too - just a pity the sun's not shining for us.
Tai chi was its usual enjoyable self yesterday, but tempered by the sad news of the death of the husband of one of the ladies. And my Oldest Man has been told he must stop driving. I may just have heard a gentle sigh of relief exhaled in the hall - just lately he's been arriving at class on his powerful motorbike!! He himself is furious - but I'm sure he'll obey instructions. I have to say that it's his robust determination to do everything he can for as long as he can that keeps him going - I'm just a bit concerned for us pedestrians when he appears on his motorised invalid carriage ..... !
Enjoy your lovely times today with friends and family (and holidays to Orkney). Lovely photos Bluesapphire - your bold fox is a handsome fellow. And I hope you're well enough for your outing with Mr Doll, Marydoll.
Mizuna you'll be so glad to have that operation at the end of the year!
Take care everyone x
Karma at least blackbirds come accompanied by their beautiful song!

Wyllow3 Fri 30-Jun-23 09:23:47

Morning from an overcast and damp feeling humid S Yorks. Drizzle expected "on and off" so hoping it's "off" when I walk up to have coffee with a quaker friend.

Not sure I can face the queue at the chemists afterwards - it can be really bad!

Bests for poorlies and enjoy outings and family and shopping.

luluaugust Fri 30-Jun-23 09:35:45

Good morning from a bright W Kent. An enjoyable morning at art yesterday I told them I was worried about getting to my speed awareness course and much hilarity ensued as apparently I am the last person on earth anybody would think of doing anything naughty!! my street cred is not only sky high with the teenage GC but the ladies at art. Off food shopping this morning and then sorting out youngest GS and cooking pizza for tea, I think he looks after us really.
Happy hols gM
I hope you get your coffee out Marydoll
Mick hang on in there I am sure you will be food shopping soon enough.
Best wishes to all

hollysteers Fri 30-Jun-23 09:38:05

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast. It will be nice when you get back into your usual routine Mick.

Thinking towards to family holiday in France coming up, I’m not sure how three adults and cases are going to fit into my very small car for the drive south to join my daughter before we fly the following day.
I’m off to the Lakes for the day tomorrow and general house stuff today.
Will read through later and thoughts to Urms Kalu and all with troubles.

Grandmabatty Fri 30-Jun-23 09:43:47

Good to hear from you GrandMattie. Skara Brae, the Pow Italian chapel, Magnus Cathedral are worth visiting. Enjoy

Nannagarra Fri 30-Jun-23 09:45:04

Good morning from sunny Norfolk. Sandringham was most impressive yesterday.
Thoughts to Urms, Kalu and those dealing with worries.
