Is there something you did once then swore you would never ever do again?
I’ll start with scraping wallpaper off a wall.

I will never again visit the whispering
gallery in St Paul's. I had a panic attack. First time I knew I was terrified of heights.

Have an MRI scan. I am extremely claustrophobic but thought I would cope. I was deeply traumatised by it.

Hitchhiking in Italy, with a friend aged 19 or 20, Gawd! What were we thinking of, nothing remotely sensible that's for sure. When she and I occasionally meet up we often mention "we were so utterly irresponsible, and dead lucky not to have experienced anything horrible"

Bacardi & Coke - Cuba libre in Spanish

One holiday in the Caribbean the food was so bad we only drank Cuba Libre and ate only Bread and Bananas.
The holiday passed in a haze but at least we were not ill, most of the others were.

LOL

Yes, have a full leg wax. It was in the early 90s and the pain put me in a bad mood for days afterwards.

Potholing. I enjoyed it thanks to my knowledgeable companion and guide, but I knew I would never want to do it again.

Camping. I like my home comforts too much. I don't even like staying at relatives houses for a night. I make too many toilet visits.

watermeadow I love scraping off wallpaper. So satisfying. The one thing I have always hated is running, thankfully I'm too old to run now hmm

heath480 Fri 30-Jun-23 23:17:13

Went on a school cruise to the Greek islands. Spent most of the time in the toilets throwing up! 🤮

I cut my little sister’s friend’s hair. (She looked a bloody mess! Ha ha ) Her mother got me back by giving me a Twink perm. 🤨

crazyH Fri 30-Jun-23 23:02:45

Have a tight ‘perm’

Callistemon21 Fri 30-Jun-23 23:01:51

Climbing.
I realised halfway up I had no head for heights.

Charleygirl5 Fri 30-Jun-23 22:47:59

Went on a sea cruise- I was sick for 13 out of the 14 days. I have never felt so ill in my life.

Wheniwasyourage I live in Londo and when working I was standing in a tube and the lights flickered. A man tried to put his hand up my skirt and quick as a flash I grabbed it and asked loudly who it belonged to, holding it up! He fled!

Tenko Fri 30-Jun-23 22:35:25

Tunisia , hated it and would never go again .

Floradora9 Fri 30-Jun-23 22:08:30

Go on a sea cruise we were so sea sick on the only one we have gone on . Go on a big wheel at a funfare , done it once and hated it .

Wheniwasyourage Fri 30-Jun-23 21:28:22

NanKate, you are brave for mentioning it now. Sadly, it seems to be a common reaction when that sort of thing happens to women that they don't immediately haul off and wallop the pathetic man involved (sometimes it's probably safer not to do so anyway), so don't feel that you should have done so. You did nothing wrong! flowers

Go to Benidorm. Not long bereaved, recovering from cancer ops and not quite myself I was talked into it.
My friends were karaoke and men mad…

NanKate Fri 30-Jun-23 19:39:03

Be passive.

I was about 15 and travelling on the train home in the winter when the lights failed on the train for about 30 seconds. A chap I knew who was about 18 took the opportunity and put his hand up my skirt. Fortunately the lights came back on and he stopped. I wish I had slapped his smug face, but I was too embarrassed.

I can’t think that young girls today would be as naive as me.

I’m fortunate for the rest of my youth I avoided unwanted attention, when I know some of you reading this will have had far worse encounters.

I’ve never mentioned this before.
