Good morning from sunny, breezy Norfolk. Cley, Sheringham and Cromer (yummy 🦀) were revisited yesterday.
We’ve planned to cycle today but, ooh, will we wobble in the weather? 🤭
Comforting thoughts are sent to those who need them, especially Urms and Kalu.

An almost cloudless sky but the temperature has dropped considerably and I will need a jacket when I go to church later. Can’t say I am sorry that it’s cooler though it’s hard on people planning outdoor events.

Lovely concert last night in our church, music for a summer evening, performed by a very good group who meet in Bristol. I seem to have been out a lot recently so a quiet day with the paper will be a pleasure. No stamina these days, I fear.

Sorry recovery is slower than you hoped, Mick, but we don’t bounce back the way we used to. Hope those on holiday benefit from the change despite the weather (*grandMattie*) and that Sunday is a good day.

Good morning all from a sunny W Kent. A quiet day today, will cook at lunchtime. DD1's MIL was admitted to hospital yesterday with a fractured hip so lots of messages going back and forth, she is 10 years older than me so quite a worry for the family.

Nice day in the lakes yesterday although it started chilly and windy. It was a full coach, so I didn’t have a free seat next to me as usual and felt cramped with all my stuff, flasks, lunch, books etc.
DS is arranging to swap my little car with his GFs larger car to take luggage when we drive south to go to France. Hope we don’t have any trouble, but it’s on the Atlantic coast so hopefully not.
Hope things settle down soon for you Mick, that’s no fun and thoughts to all with worries of any kind.

Good morning all. A late start for me for a change. It's cool & windy here in Sefton. All the dog walkers have their big coats on.
No plans for today. Will see how I feel. Can't decide if I have a cold or it's my hay fever type allergy. I'm sneezing & streaming.

Good morning from a cool Cornwall where I'm enjoying a hot chocolate in Wetherspoons, looking out over a canopy of trees. Today I must press on with sorting my concreting etc room so I can get back to the bigger, messier projects. My heart hiccup got in the way. Church at 4pm but in a different venue because we have five adult full immersion baptisms, so we're using the place where I was 'dunked' 30 years ago. It's often done in the sea but not this time. It will be a lovely occasion for all of us.

Had a quiet rest day yesterday. Today is Quakers and hopefully to gym afterwards.

MD I’ve just received my new stamps from the swap scheme, thankfully we can still use the ‘picture’ stamps.
I now have enough to see me through for a couple of years!

Fell asleep in the armchair when I got home.

Sausage butty later for breakfast, then this afternoon I am off out to the cinema to see Matthew Bourne's Sleeping Beauty ballet; it will be sure to have a modern twist to it.

Ham egg and chips for tea tonight, using some of the gammon I cooked yesterday. It is all sliced and portioned out and in the freezer, six meals in all, three for ham sandwiches, and three for main meals.

Glad you thought Skara Brae was amazing, grandMattie, I have an excursion to it booked on my cruise.

Good morning from a sunny but breezy Oxfordshire, MrOops is still quite poorly, he has a fever now and is trying to sleep, but has been awake most of the night despite medication.
There is a Vintage Fair on at our local garden centre, I went with MissOops 2 years ago and it was such a good afternoon, I’ll see if she wants to go with Nephew today, they even had a chap singing Frank Sinatra songs, if it comes to a place near you I can recommend it, plus we bought some nice things too. I can’t go, still a bit wobbly but I can dog sit for them, I won’t get near them though as this flu is a real b***er.
At least I got the washing and ironing done yesterday, so I feel that I’m slowly getting back to normal.
It’s good to hear of GNers travels and trips.
Take it easy Mick as MD says maybe give your team a ring tomorrow, did they give you an info pack when you left hospital?
Hope all grans feeling unwell soon start to feel better, have as good a day as you can everyone.

Good morning Mick and everyone from currently sunny but windy Carlisle. I think we are due showers. It has been chilly enough in the evenings for me to dig out a wool sweater.

Mick, I understand your symptoms are not unusual after bowel surgery. I hope you can call on professionals for advice if you want it.

Yesterday, I had an early shop in Sainsbury's and then home for a long phone natter with my sister. In the afternoon, in spite of the lovely sun outside, I admit I spent hours on the sofa watching the Tour de France wind through the beautiful Basque country, one of my favourite parts of Europe. Very satisfying finish!

Today, I will try to play catch up in the garden, wishing I was another version of karmalady. You are truly dynamic!

Good morning everyone from a brightish Northampton, a fine day forecast, no rain and sunny spells.

Was really busy yesterday; defrosted the kitchen freezer, cooked a gammon in the pressure cooker, and cut the back grass. Early evening, DS and family picked me up and we went to a Jamaican restaurant in Wellingborough for younger DGD's birthday, her choice of venue. It was.far spicier and not at all like the jerk chicken I had in Jamaica - and my stomach suffered all night! I was up and down several times! Think it has settled.down now, fingers crossed..... Mick, I hope you feel some improvement today. Either contact your GP or your support team, if you have one, perhaps they can offer advice and diet suggestions. Could it be what your eating, which is causing the upset stomach?

Talking of support teams, I was tidying up all the bumpf from my RA support team, and about to throw out, what I thought was an empty envelope, when I realised there was something in it.
It was a laminated alert card, with my medical details, which I am supposed to carry ar all times! How on earth did I miss that? 😕 Cue yet another chat with DH, to show it to clinicians in an emergency.
We seem to be having a lot of chats, these days. 😉

I sat in the conservatory all day yesterday, I was feeling pretty grim, and it will be more of the same today, but I did manage to prepare a few things, which need altered. DH does not have a standard leg size, which is a pain!

The other thing I managed to do was complete a samplwape stamp form, to exchange the old non bar code ones I have, for bar coded ones.
We had lots left from my DIL'S cancelled lockdown wedding. I am due £65 worth of replacement stamps. No need to buy any more stamps, ever! 😉

My SIL, thank goodness, was in good humour, bringing chocolate and flowers.
I asked about her estranged sister, who lives overseas. Oh she died two months ago, I haven't spoken to her in forty years!. We watched the funeral online The only person mentioned in the eulogy was SIL's brother, who died a few days ago and SIL's deceased husband, my DH's brother. No mention of SIL
How could I respond to that? 🤷‍♀️

I wish you all the best of days, although I know that is impossible for some of our friends. 💐 praying for a better day for the Corner family.

A busy Sunday ahead with family and friends. DBiL is coming for lunch. It's the first time I'll have seen him since his DM funeral.

I'm glad you enjoyed Scara Brae and the Brough of Birsay gMattie . Orkney is a land of magic and wonder but the only hotel I ever left a mediocre review for was near Kirkwall.
I moved out and went to the backpackers in Stromness which was preferable!.
DH ancestors are buried at Stenness.

I too hope your health problems subside Mick soon.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It has been raining overnight in South Yorkshire Not sure how much but anything is welcome, it’s been so dry. I hope it dries up enough to go for a drive and a walk in the Peak District today. It would have been - it is - our 57th wedding anniversary and I have a yen to revisit an old haunt and stare at the view. DD is running the Ashbourne half marathon today so I’m glad it’s not blazing hot. Cool will be welcome I’m sure.

A quick trip out to DD2s this morning to check on their cat, they’ll be home later today after a couple of nights away. We’ve got the DGC here for a sleepover tonight so looking forward to the noise and chaos!

Glad that you had a great first day of your Orkney holiday GM. I first visited Skara Brae in the early 1970s when the site was just as it was when discovered. You could just wander around it at will. So very different from how it is now but I think the timeline,visitors’ centre etc have been done very well.

DS and DGS are calling in sometime this afternoon after a visit nearby to collect yet another piece of equipment to clutter up their garage( my opinion not his)bought on eBay. Luckily DDiL is a very tolerant person. She will enjoy a peaceful few hours at home with their puppy and younger DGD whilst elder DGD is at her weekend restaurant job.

Good morning Mick and all from another windy day on the Angus coast. My least favourite weather, but at least it's coming with sunshine and not rain!
Karma you are amazing and I'm exhausted and fascinated in equal measure by your posts.
Yesterday was a non-day for me - I just couldn't settle down to anything. I achieved some watered houseplants and bought and posted a couple of cards, but that was about it. I must try to make today a bit more productive.
The wind is a permanent feature of Orkney grandmattie, but with such fascinating archaeology as compensation. You seem to be making the most of that, and so good that you got that hire car.

Pleasant walk yesterday from Himley Country Park to Baggeridge, with a coffee and chat at the cafe there.

It is DIL's birthday today, the last year of her 40's! So I am going over with cards etc as their girls have birthdays this month. Eldest will be 19, younger 14. Will join them for a meal out early evening.

Will try to go to the gym this morning, as not been since our holiday, seems hard to get started again.

We are taking one of my brothers and his wife out for lunch today. His health has meant he is unable to drive and their world has become very small. They are hard work though.

Good morning from a bright Essex by the sea.
A lovely meal on Friday night and a fairly easy journey home yesterday morning.
I will go and collect DH and his friend once they arrive back later this morning.
Yesterday my 11 year old granddaughter had a cake sale on her drive. She and my daughter made all the cakes. She raised at least £110.00 for Save the Children. All her own idea and I am very proud of her thoughtfulness.
I must get dressed and go out for a paper before putting the washing machine.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and sunny at the moment. It feels fresh.
Mick definitely seek medical advice. GrandMattie that's a pity Mae's Howe is booked.
Yesterday I got lots of washing done but had to put it on the clothes horse as we had frequent showers. I visited mum at night but she wasn't up for conversation. She's waiting for a bed in a community hospital close to me which will be handy for visiting.
Today I have the tumble dryer on, drying towels and sheets. I'll hang out stuff from yesterday. Another quiet day ahead. I'll roast a chicken for dinner. Have a good day all
