Good Morning Everyone,
Another bright sunny start to the day here in brackley .
Another day will try to exercise a bit further today , before settling down to watch the Tour De France .
I am hoping by next week to be able to go to the local supermarket and not rely with online deliveries .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning, cool and showery today in s somerset, typical july camping weather

Mick you sound brighter today, good

I am expecting a call back from john lewis refunds this afternoon. They processed a refund to my ex JL card, which I cancelled 9 months ago. I will get my refund, eventually

I went to sainsbury yesterday and am noticing that there are reductions if you swipe a nectar card, same with waitrose. Another way to track us. They are considerable reductions, I cannot see people now leaving their shop cards at home. Big brother is everywhere and I am not liking it

Sleep was rubbish last night, so my radio went on. I hear that stations will have no ticket offices soon, not anywhere in England. That horrifies me too

My bubble will be enclosing me today, no news will enter

Good morning, a damp dawn here but it’s so nice to have actually had some rain at last. Walking the dog in it yesterday evening felt like a real novelty!
Today a walk with a friend and her dog, then some watercolour painting and pootling around I think. Nothing exciting 😊

Good morning from our last day in Orkney. Typically, the weather is bright and sunny, just on time for us to go!
Yesterday, we went to just one place. A current dig at Westwick on South Ronaldsay. We had a very long talk about the cairn, given by one of the dig leaders. What a joy it was, so very interesting. Sadly, we had to leave before he’d finished because we had to return the car.
Today? Flight to Edinburgh, where we have a 6 hour wait for the connection to Bristol 🤨 then back to the old humdrum life…. We have had the most interesting time in Orkney.

Good morning from a sunny Torbay after a very wet day yesterday.

I was just about to go out yesterday morning when a visitor arrived. A young woman, who recently vacated one of the flats, arrived on my doorstep asking to use my WiFi (from the hallway) to work on her laptop while awaiting delivery of her visa between 8.00 - 20.00!

I agreed but invited her to work in the flat. When I arrived home, after 1.00 pm, she was still there so I served spaghetti bolognese for us both. The visa arrived just as we started lunch. She's a social worker and needed to visit a client but doesn’t drive. As it was raining heavily and I doubted she’d complete her plans in time if she used the buses, I drove her to Preston to see a client then back to TQ to drop off her laptop (it was her last day) as she needed to travel by train back to the Midlands for her new job! Phew!

She was very grateful, as was I to sit down at our theatre last night to watch HMS Pinafore. Quite a good opening night for a modern production set in outer space - it's a way of explaining the elderly performers as the company is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. We were required to believe they’d been stuck in space, hence their ages. Clever.

Happy hump day to everyone and safe travels to grandMattie. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from a wet Sefton. Rain overnight & it has just started to rain again. Forecast to brighten up later.... the best of both worlds. Mild & damp , our gardens will be happy.
Zoom exercise class this morning, a bit of food shopping & that's it for the day.
Have been following your Orkney holiday with interest grandMattie. I had no idea there was so much archeology/digs. Coincidently there is currently a series on tv about Orkney. Absolutely fascinating. Without your posts I may not have watched it. Thank you.
Take care all.

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s looking a bit brighter.

Work again today but no yarn group this evening as we’ve decided to take a break for a month.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning from a sunny South Downs.

Planning to deadhead everything I can today and tidy up in preparation for our week away. DH has set up a watering system and tested it yesterday - bit monsoon like - so I think it needs adjusting! Will pick all the beans etc, but no doubt when we come back there will be masses of them, they grow like Topsy. I’ll mention to neighbour and see if she would like to pick some along with any strawberries.

More Wimbledon this afternoon. Hopefully be more games after yesterdays rain.
I must also order some sheets in JL sale as we’ve had some for donkeys and they are getting very thin. I’ll ask neighbour to take in package, if it arrives while we are away.

Haddock with cucumber, avocado and mango salsa salad, being careful with my diet means that my gallbladder is totally happy and I feel perfectly normal - perhaps I could avoid the operation🤔

Enjoy this lovely summers day everyone.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. It rained here heavily yesterday afternoon and night. The sky is clear blue this morning. It's still windy and more rain is forecast for this afternoon. It's cool too. More autumn than summer.
Weekly Wednesday coffee meetup in the city centre this morning. I'll need a jacket.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning all it looks like a much nicer day today here on the east coast of Fife, yesterday was terrible it rained all day. I’m so amused when my carers see the wadding on my poor leg which it’s going to be looked at tomorrow by the district nurse fingers crossed it’s healing well

Have a good day everyone

Grandmabatty Wed 05-Jul-23 07:38:27

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and dry. Grandmattie the weather in Scotland in July can be decidedly iffy. Ash what a kind person you are!
Yesterday was good fun but I was tired by night time. Country park with its own farm was a distinct hit with dgs1. We walked loads too and he started a nature collection which is currently in the boot of my car. After dgs2 had a nap, we went to two railway stations as dgs1 adores trains still. It coincided with torrential rain so all three of us were drenched. That didn't bother the boys one bit. I wasn't as happy 😊. At night I visited mum who slept most of the time,so I didn't stay long. I had a fish supper instead of making curry as I was done in by then.
Today I have a chiropodist appointment, then I'm visiting my friend's partner to see how he is doing. He's recently had heart problems so I'll hear about it. This afternoon I will make chicken curry and tidy up a bit. I'll go back to see mum tonight. Have a good day all

Good morning Michael and all GNs. The sun is trying hard in South Yorkshire. Going to be a dry day. I got stung on the hand by a bee in the garden yesterday. It had landed on my head and stung me as I pushed my hair back out of my eyes. It’s so long and shaggy at the moment I’m surprised sparrows aren’t nesting in it. The sting wasn’t much trouble yesterday but it itches like the Devil this morning. Library this afternoon and then, if it stays dry after tea I will go for a walk.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning Mick and all from overcast Anglesey. Gosh I see that there are two seven o’ clocks in the day, who knew.
Safe journey home to you gMattie, your jaunt sounds fascinating, lots of interesting things to chat about with your new friends.
How very kind of you Ash to go the extra mile for your ex neighbour, I’m sure it was appreciated. Kindness breeds kindness so hopefully others will benefit.
Hope the leg is healing well multi, it looks very comfortable all wrapped up there.
Whitewave your daily platter makes my mouth water.
GGravy your home sounds like a wonderful nursery with a revolving door (and a constant ironing mountain).
Jackets in Pittcity, that heat wave came and went far too quickly didn’t it.
Wet Sefton will do the garden good Gala, kind of you to mention the tv programme and kind of StacyAnn to provide the details.
Shame about yarn group baubles, busy as ever Kitty, hope the refund comes soon karma, water colour painting to pass the time Roseand Lilac my idea of heaven.
Hello to all who have posted since I started my one finger typing.
Wishing you all a good day and special hugs to those struggling through very tough times.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and cloudy, yesterday was quite nice with even a bit of sunshine in the afternoon
Oh Ash so very kind of you, how fortunate for the lady concerned, like laura says kindness brings kindness
It’s workout Wednesday at the gym, I don’t look forward to the classes but I enjoy the company of the other ladies, and it’s good for me! Best of all though I’m going for a long sit down and coffee afterwards with my pal.
Safe travels home gMattie and fingers crossed there’s no delays
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

LauraNorderr Wed 05-Jul-23 07:51:05

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 05-Jul-23 07:56:11

Morning all from Wales. Overnight rain woke me up but it looks brighter now. We are hoping to spend time on the beach if it doesn’t rain. There’s also a craft centre up the road which does lunch so we might go there as well. This is the penultimate day of our holiday. We’ve had a good time but I’m always pleased to get home! Have a good day everyone.

Liberty Wed 05-Jul-23 07:58:49

A sunny start to the day here in Suffolk after torrential rain and wind last evening and during the night. It was only 18 degrees when we got up.

We are off to the Hampton Court flower show tomorrow, luckily with a local coach company and not by train. Hoping for a warmer and dry day which sounds to be on the cards.

A quiet day for us today with an early night as we have to be at the pick up point,a couple of miles away, before 6.30am!

Hope all have a peaceful day with some sunshine.

Jaxjacky Wed 05-Jul-23 08:01:25

Morning from a brighter S Hants, torrents of rain late yesterday, it was still pouring at bedtime, a happy garden.
How thoughtful Ashcombe, true kindness.
Your trip has gone well gMattie I’m pleased.
I expect the weeds will need some attention today and I might lift the last new potatoes, floor washing and other tedious chores.

Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 05-Jul-23 08:03:35

Good morning from a breezy, chilly Oxfordshire. MrOops was so cold yesterday that I had to put the heating on, I blame him, but I was chilly too, it clicked on again this morning but the sun has just come out!
Another nothing day, apart from some more decluttering and clothes for the Charity shop, I almost have a car boot full so will drop it all off next week.
I’m a bit wheezy today so will stay indoors in the warm, I’d like to say ‘for a change’ but since coming home from holiday I’ve been out twice. Any benefits from our holiday well and truly forgotten. However, I think MrOops slept off and on last night which is a good sign.
Safe travels to all on the move, hope all poorlies will soon feel better, for the rest of us , have a good day, let’s hope the sun shines and Summer comes back again.
