I seem to have lost my longish chatty contribution. Oh well, never mind. Good morning all.

Good Morning Everyone,
Its a grey and misty start here in brackley this morning.
Today, a quiet day in, with the F1 Grand Prix up the road at Silverstone today, Mercedes have had chequered Flags on display in various locations in the town .
The Tour de France is my aim today as its in the Massif central region of France.
Take Care,
Mick
I seem to have lost my longish chatty contribution. Oh well, never mind. Good morning all.
And Maria!
Good morning from a wet Oxfordshire, late starting today so I’ll have a coffee and read all postings later.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from Durham. Grey, overcast and warm. I got soaked last night taking Little Dog out, but as we say up here, it’s only water!
Coffee this morning with friend, then DD2 is bringing DGS2 over for a few hours, after his nap.
It’s lovely to read all the posts on this thread every morning - it always reminds me what a diverse lot we are - certainly not a closed shop. Everyone is welcomed here.
Thinking of our unwell GN’s and those caring for their unwell loved ones.
Best wishes to all. X
Another good morning from S Lanarkshire. It’s taking me forever to get going these days. Vigil mass last night so I’m having a relaxed breakfast. Liberty, that was such good advice you described yesterday, which would make my life so much easier if I followed it!
GrannyGravy your ball sounds really fabulous, I’m glad it lived up to your expectations.
Tragic news Marydoll, awful for everyone involved.
I must rouse myself today, I’ve allowed myself to become very lethargic over the past few days, I will make a list!
Wishing everyone a peaceful Sunday.
Thank you for the lovely welcomes.
It’s a nice sunny day here and the garden looks refreshed after some rain.
Sorry Thorntrees, welcome!
Good morning. Late post today whilst watching the rain from the caravan.
Yesterday was bright and sunny. We spent some time at Praa Sands watching the surfers. Then on to see the tin mine at Geevor.
It was so quiet and calm sitting up on the high ground watching the sea. Like another world where everything was peaceful and trouble free.
We are hoping to visit Lizard point today plus a few coves along the way.
Haven’t yet read all through the thread so my best wishes for all.
Dear GM I am a lurker I suppose. Read often and post seldom. You are a lovely lady and I’m sorry someone posted something upsetting yesterday.
No Marydoll I don’t think you come over as a close knit group. You always make any newcomer welcome.
GM is a lovely supportive thread long May it continue.
Good morning from my exercise bike (and The Archers).
Welcome to our newbies. I’m another who was stunned by yesterday’s unkind posting.
Like others we have a quiet life,, but I so enjoy reading everyone’s doings. Especially Marydoll and grandMattie, who write so well.
Quick trip to local Sainsbury’s later to exchange a t shirt that was to big 😀.
Have a good day.
Good morning everyone from a grey and overcast Northampton. Nothing planned for today - an empty, Marydoll would say. Will read the papers, hang up my shopping from yesterday, and generally do not very much. May catch up with some recorded programmes.
Had a good day our shopping in Milton Keynes. Lovely lunch and a glass of Malbec in Ask. A pair of ear-rings caught my eye in John Lewis, only £8. Then after lunch a visit to my favourite shop Fat Face - I came out with a new dress in the sale and a lovely bright summery top. I like Fat Face because i usually have to buy a size smaller than usual which is very flattering! Did I mention I also bought a new top in the Next sale?...... Then to M&S where I spent my voucher on a new bra to wear under my new posh frock. Tried on four, but bought the first one as it looked and fitted the best.
On the bus going home I have never seen so many people waiting for transport at Milton Keynes railway station. Then i realised they were all probably waiting to go to Silverstone, just down the road from us.
Bacon butty and a coffee in moment. Have a good Sunday everyone
A welcome to thorntrees and did I see maria?
Such sad news marydoll. My condolences to the family and a gentle hug for you.
Welcome newbies (you will soon learn that I have the memory of a goldfish, which is probably doing the goldfish of the world a disservice)
Sending an extra big (((hug))) and my condolences to our very own MaryDoll MND is such a cruel disease 💐
Enjoy your GS’s performance Ashcombe
Whitewavemark2 Suffolk is our neighbouring County, we have all the hills 🤣
Good morning Mick and everyone. We started off with a thick fog on the Angus coast, then the sun popped out for a while. Back to grey now, but I'm sure the sun will be back.
Welcome Thorntrees. You sound just like me, although I do post every day. Sometimes it's a real struggle to find something to say as my life is so quiet at times, with all my friends now gone and the family living at a distance. It really is lovely to come on here and feel part of something. So I hope you keep posting - we can compete in banalities 😉😁
I do have a 'wild time' coming up, courtesy of Dancing GD. Going to see her dance in Glasgow next weekend and then a couple of weeks after that at The Fringe in Edinburgh!
Today? No idea - although the sun is about to put in an appearance so a set of tai chi beside the pond might be in order.
So sad to hear of the loss of such a young life lost Marydoll. DD's husband was only 41 when he died (my own DH was only 48) and there is so much missed.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone doing what makes you happiest 🌞
So sorry to read the deeply sad news of the young man's death Marydol.
Holding his family and friends in my heart.
Grannygravy so glad you enjoyed that wonderful Ball!
Thorntrees
Good morning all.
I’m a very occasional poster but read every day. I was sad to read the unpleasant post yesterday on such a friendly thread. Good to see GM posting as usual.
I suppose I don’t often post because we lead a very quiet life so not a lot to say. Sharing in everyone’s joys and sadness and everyday doings on here helps me feel in touch with a wider world if that makes sense,
Wishing everyone a calm and happy Sunday.
Snap Thorntrees- re reason why I read far more than I post, regarding the GM thread.
I do sometimes post on Soops kitchen page, but again very infrequently.
I’ve started the odd thread or two myself, also asked for, and received, helpful advice on various subjects over the years.
I joined when my 1st grandchild, now 13, was 2, so not exactly a newbie either! x
I agrre also re this thread and how much I appreciated its existence and everyone out there in ‘Gransnetland’ during lockdown. It’s a bit like a comfort blanket in a way… that gets a bit scratchy sometimes, but don’t we all?
Good Morning from a very humid East Anglia! I am one of the people who read nearly every morning but seldom post! I honestly don’t know why I don’t post but reading all your interesting news has been very beneficial recently as I had a stroke last October and I have been unable to do many of the activities that filled my life in the past. I suppose I am improving slowly but it is soooo slow! I am very impatient so doing slow does not sit well with me!
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend and I promise to try and post more often!
Just came back to welcome those normally on a watching brief.
Liberty, I'm so glad you don't think we are losers! 🤣 Damned predictive text!
GrannyGravy, I was looking forward to see a photo of your outfit.
Hello Jan16. Sorry to hear about your stroke but glad to there's progress, albeit too slow for your liking. Do keep updating us x
And mamaa.
Marydoll

I will take a photo of it on the hanger when it returns from the dry cleaners 👍
I'm another who reads daily, & really enjoy hearing about all yr activities!
I don't post v much (altho I'd like to join in) b/c of the 5 hr time zone - my "breakfast news"🍳 comes at yr lunch-time. 🥪
