Good Morning from a sunny S. Yorks.

Rain not till later.

Congratulations ginster hope you find smother nice for lunch.
Very tired indeed so pottering today and a little packing for Wednesday's travel to Sis in Devon. The decorator is coming later to finalise work on both bedrooms while I'm away. She's very good and I feel happy leaving her to get on with it.

Bests for poorlies and may good outings, gardening and domestics be had.

Good morning Mick and all. It's a glorious sunny 14° on the Angus coast at present.
Whitewave, Thorpeness sounds so lovely - a very special place to visit.
Have a lovely few days painting Roses after the sad start to your week.
I hope your journey goes well Ash - three changes isn't fun at all. I used to love my journeys to visit DS2 in Lincolnshire, but haven't travelled at all since all this uncertainty on the railways started. You're very brave.
Safe flight home Brook.
I had one of those beautiful peaceful days yesterday, so lovely. I even read a whole book! Today, however, the chiropodist cometh, and I really MUST do some food shopping.
DiL enjoyed her 50th yesterday and said the meal they had at The Three Chimneys on Skye was amazing. She also bought three paintings and now I'm waiting for the photos (living life by proxy 😉)
Marydoll I do feel for you and admire how you still 'get up and at 'em' in spite of everything.
I hope everyone has the best day they can x

PS. The photo is of the trapoeleum which is putting in a marvellous show this year. This is what meets you as you come through my side gate.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a sunny blustery day in Oxfordshire.
Cleaning and tidying day today as we have Estate Agents coming around in a bit, for a valuation so that we can see where we are regarding moving.
Hugs to all those who are in need of one. Take care everybody.
💐 for Marydoll, Kalu and Urms

Good morning from an overcast Lizard peninsula.
Yesterday it was lovely to see so many people using the costal paths at the Lizard and Kynace Cove. The scenery is so amazing.
A longer journey today to Portscatho where we are meeting friends who are also on holiday.
Wishing all a pleasant day especially those with worried and cares.

Good morning from a bright & sunny Sefton. Enjoy your day out nanna garra.
An exhausting but enjoyable weekend spoilt somewhat by the weather. Rain of biblical proportions doesn't help. It's rarely we can all manage to get together. A picky bits lunch yesterday at our house was, thankfully, brought by DiL2. Our picnic lunch had to be held in side because of the uncooperative weather which had changed to lovely & sunny by the time they all left. Typical!
Singing group this morning, then a school pickup & "child care" for a couple of hours.
Best get a move on. Take care all.

Happy Anniversary Gingster 🥂🎂🎉, enjoy your lunch.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's dry and promising.

I'm taking my dear cousin on a favourite jaunt to a Borders town so I hope it's not "closed on Monday". I'd better check!
Last week was a wasted journey to a garden centre.
DS took us all out yesterday to Open Gardens in East Lothian. It was so nice admiring other people's gardens and our teenagers were very patient.

What a nice surprise to meet up with your Kentish friends gMattie

Mick I hope you have a much better sleep tonight.
Roses so sad to lose an old friend. flowers
I'm thinking too of our Kalu and Urms

Gingster Mon 10-Jul-23 07:59:09

Good morning all and it looks like a nice day, cooler thank goodness.
I have my Chimes group this morning which is always fun.

It’s our 52nd wedding anniversary today and we’ll go somewhere nice for lunch. Our neighbour recommended a lovely lakeside place where we have never been, but it’s closed in Mondays 😤. Never mind!

whitewavemark Thorpeness is just up the coast from our seaside cottage and we often walk there and back along the beach. Our children almost ‘lived’ on the Meare and now all the GC have to visit to go on the boats and hop on and off the Peter Pan islands. It’s been featured quite often on tv ‘Villages by the sea’.

Ash and Brook safe and problem free journey to you both. 🤞.
Marydoll an emotional day for you at your old parish church.
Hope you have a ‘good’ day today. 🙏

Love to all poorlies, worried and just fed up grans. 🌸

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. We were expecting to be on a school run this morning but unfortunately DD2 has come down with a virus so we were not needed. The cleaner is coming this morning and I am hoping to sort out the small room, I find it impossible to sit while she works away.
Safe travels and best wishes to all

kittylester Mon 10-Jul-23 07:48:33

WWM2 We love Thorpeness! Aldeburgh is one of our go to places for a break and we always visit the Emporium. Last time we were there the cafe had gf custard tarts. Such a rare treat, I had to have 2.blush

monk08 Mon 10-Jul-23 07:44:11

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
One of my back teeth broke yesterday so I need to call into dentist see if they can fit me in, I have an appointment on the 1st of next month but would like it done sooner if possible.
Safe travels for those on the move, best wishes for anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed especially Urms & Kalu.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning from a sunny Essex coast.
We had a busy but quite relaxing weekend.
This morning I am meeting DD2 and two DGD's at Bluewater, M25 permitting.
New clothes for the girls and I have a top to exchange in M&S.
We will have lunch before I come home.
Thinking of Kula and Urms and anyone else who is poorly.
I hope you all have the best Monday possible xxx

Pittcity Mon 10-Jul-23 07:33:59

Good morning from sunny Colchester. A nice day forecast so I'll get some washing out on the line.
Lidl this morning as the DGSs ate everything in sight over the weekend. Dentist and hygienist this afternoon.
Love to all 🦩 x

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. A quick visit as I have to get up. Our gardener is coming soon to trim the hedges. Waitrose trip and then to my friend over the road for a Craft afternoon. I think we’re doing collage. Have a good day.

baubles Mon 10-Jul-23 07:31:14

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s 15*, dry and sunny.

Sorry to hear that you had a bad night Mick, I hope you are not in pain?

We had lunch out yesterday at our usual place then had a quiet afternoon. I sat in the garden with my book for a while and noticed that one of the trees was alive with wasps. They only appeared to be interested in this particular tree, I couldn’t see a nest but it’s difficult to see through the leaves to the inner branches and trunk. I do hope there isn’t one in there.

Work again today, Monday is day the full time manager and I work together, planning the week and getting through the endless admin as well as the usual tasks.

Ash, that’s annoying, hope your connections run smoothly.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

brook2704 Mon 10-Jul-23 07:21:36

Good morning everyone from a sunny start in Cambridge, another very warm day is forecast
Hoping the funeral today goes as well as it can roses and you enjoy your time away later
Safe journey Ash, a shame the direct train is cancelled but hope the connections work ok.
I’m travelling home today too, on the flight from Luton early evening. I’ve had such a lovely weekend away here with my Cambridge family, DD1 and DGSs are all coming up to Inverness at the end of July too so really looking forward to that
Have a lovely day out with your friends nannagarra
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, especially Urms and kalu, take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Marydoll Mon 10-Jul-23 07:21:27

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 12°C. We have yet more rain forecast in a few hours. Good to hear you are making progress Mick.

GM, you sound as if you had a lovely day with your friends. An early night for you tonight, GMBatty, you will be exhausted by tonight.

DH is golfing and I am having a rest day, the dizziness came back with a vengeance yesterday afternoon and lasted for hours. I am lulled into a false sense of security, then WHAM! A two hour doze, did nothing to alleviate it. 😔
I'm finding it difficult to come to terms that this will be the norm now, as my heart continues to fail. There is so much I want to still do.

I had a lovely morning yesterday. The parish priest of the church we were at, was the former assistant priest in my own parish, so we had a good old natter.
My sister in law called a lady over to speak to me and introduced me by my maiden name. It turned out we had been in primary school together and I hadn't her in over fifty years. She looked nothing like her younger self and I hadn't a clue, who she was.
Some good old reminiscing was done. DH was gradually losing patience. Going by previous experience, he should have realised that I would treat it as a social event. 😂

It all felt a strange and discombobulated, because I could see both my mum and my MIL's homes from the church, but felt like an interloper, who no longer belonged.
At church, I heard of the death of the husband of a devoted couple, the wife whom I've known from school and also a former teaching colleague. They had no children, were inseperable and had just sold their house to downsize. The husband told his wife he was going for a lie down and never woke up. Carpe Diem, indeed!
I'm finding all these recent bereavements quite unsettling!!!
I need to find a suitable outfit for SIL's brother's funeral tomorrow.

After Mass, we had tea and scones in a local country house hotel, where DD should have had her cancelled, lockdown wedding. There had been a wedding the previous day and many guests had stayed overnight.
I felt quite sad for DD, who never got to wear her beautiful dress.
I'm actually being foolish and sentimental, for her garden wedding was one of the nicest I have ever been to, albeit socially distanced with me having to shield. DD was the happiest I've ever seen her. 🥰

I wish you all a pleasant day and safe travels to Ash and Rose andLilac.,
As always the poorlies are in my thoughts and prayers.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 10-Jul-23 07:19:13

Morning all

It’s already 16 and sunny here with a slight chance of rain.

Off to the gym first thing then I must crack on with feeding the washing machine.

Have a good day folks (((hugs))) for those in need 🙋‍♀️🦩

BlueSapphire Mon 10-Jul-23 07:17:38

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton; light rain forecast after lunch.

Had a very lazy day yesterday, apart.from an hour spent in the garden in the afternoon trying to contain a very unruly rose which was trying to attack me every time I sat on the bench under the pergola. I'm afraid I went for the severe prune and cut it really hard back. Then did the same with the vine on the opposite side, being careful to preserve any bunches of baby grapes. Heard, but didn't see, the Red Arrows fly over on their way to Silverstone.
Started to rain heavily, so came indoors to watch the Grand Prix.

Yoga this morning, then hang the washing out, and afterwards may pop down to Next to see if I can change the top I bought on Saturday, knew I should have gone up a size..... Luckily everything else fits ok.

Hoping all have a good Monday, especially those troubled by illness or worries.

Nannagarra Mon 10-Jul-23 07:02:22

Good morning from bright and sunny Sefton.
Additional layers packed, we’re soon to set off for Derbyshire to spend the day with friends.
Whatever your plans, have the best day possible. My thoughts are with Urms, Kalu and all others who are struggling.

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk coast. Forecast is for a sunny warm day.

Yesterday we pottered to Thorpness, a holiday village of black and white houses built in the 1910s . It was quite charming, with a large man made boating lake for children - 2ft deep and islands representing Neverland with a Wendy house and Peter Pan stuff, Swallows and Amazons also springs to mind, Lots of fun activities A club for the parents with restaurant, ballroom, tennis court etc. it must have been a delight in its hey day. A chap called Ogilvie was responsible for its inception who was friendly with Barrie - hence the Peter Pan theme for the children. Had a coffee in the cafe that also houses an emporium from which I bought 4 books. We also found a lot of broken fresh water mussels on the lake (meare) bank. So the question is who eats them? I would not have thought there were otters there.

Enjoy your day everyone.

karmalady Mon 10-Jul-23 06:35:38

Good morning, sunny now but thunderstorms laler, maybe

Yesterday was a very good day, I did my cycling exercise early and got back just when spots of rain came down. Then later watched TDF and always marvel at the speed and expertise and tactics. I didn`t just sit and watch, I knitted and did a good chunk too

Scones are in my plans for today and a bit of floor washing, berry picking and general house cleaning. I am concerned about my young rowan tree, one is fine, the other has leaves that are 3/4 brown and quite floppy. I hope it manages to produce growth buds for next year. The drying wind has battered it almost to death

Have a lovely day

Jaxjacky Mon 10-Jul-23 06:35:18

Morning from sun/cloud in S Hants, hope you’ve got your prescriptions sorted Mick.
Safe journey Ash, enjoy your art after a sad day today RosesandLilac.
Hope it’s not too disruptive today gMattie.
Yesterday was quiet, exciting cricket, meat draw in our pub (no luck) and pruning tomato plants.
Housework today, MrJ isn’t working, I think he’s off to the golf course, quiz tonight.
Thoughts with those struggling.

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire. We had more biblical type rain yesterday so only the pots to do today.

Today I have ironing to do, I am having a zoom One to One, DS2 is popping round and an electrician from the kitchen company is coming to talk to us about the bits we want doing as extras to the plan.

Have the best day possible everyone.
