Pastry

I can eat a modest amount of pastry, otherwise it gives me indigestion. Otherwise since having my gall bladder removed I seem to have no allergies.

Some breads I have to steer clear of I have that glycemic crash afterwards and feel tired for a while. I often try to have bread free days, I'm having one today. I love bread it's my downfall. I know sourdough and dark rye bread are best but well sometimes a French stick beckons sad

I find traditional French patisserie (or anything made with similarly high gluten flour) disagrees with me, very high gluten apparently.
My mother was a full-blown Coeliac but according to NHS tests I’m just moderately intolerant.

Peanuts. I love them but they don’t love me, I don’t have a nut allergy but when I have eaten peanuts I am bloated with terrible wind and have an awful headache.

Mince pies (specifically, the godawful acidic mincemeat in most ready-made pies).
Not sure if it's classed as "food", but most alcohol gives me a headache, especially wine. I don't mind about not drinking, but other people seem to mind a lot if I'm not knocking it back like they are!

Until recently I could eat everything except shellfish, in the past 3 years, I have become intolerant to cheese, caffeine, cinnamon, strawberries, clementines and a whole host of other things.

It’s the cheese that’s a killer, I don’t like puddings I love cheese.
A cheeseboard would be my death row meal.

Annoyingly I am intolerant of Tuna, both fresh and tinned. Tastes good, but after an hour or so a small amount gives me a painful stomach which lasts for a couple of days. A larger amount (more than a nibble) makes me throw up violently.

I also have a problem with bread that has extra, "toughened" gluten, which is most bread available in a Supermarket. Stomach pain, burps and the like. Ordinary baked bread without the additives is OK, especially if it is wholemeal.

Short crust pastry.
Anything minty or with lemon or orange in.
All nuts,
Coffee and tea even decaf
Crusty bread,
pickled onions.
too many tomatoes,
Anything spicy.
I could eat anything when I was younger but I can't digest some things now.
I'm often a glutton for punishment.and end up sucking a Rennie.

I guess we aren’t meant to eat things like bread, dairy and so on, we would have eaten meat and fish, berries and suchlike originally.
You’d have thought by now we would have adjusted to most things but bread and pastry and dairy seem to be the main allergy and intolerance no-no’s don’t they?
