Good Morning Everyone,
A dry start but cloudy ,and its getting windy here in brackley .
Things seem to be slightly improving health wise , as regards the diarrhea ,and my weight seems to be moving up again.
One reason I am now eating meals in full ,and not not nibbles.
Today stay in TdF Alpine stage around apart of France I am familiar with .
Take Care,
Mick

A quick Good morning all from me, in time just, wink today for a change!

The wind is getting up now round here, glad we decided to change going away with the 'van from today to tomorrow- hopefully it will have eased by the time we set off.

Well, must dash loads of things to do, none of it exciting just housework stuff- always my thoughts are with those not having the best of days for whatever reason. x

Good morning,
quite breezy and muggy here. The sky gets very black and looks as if it’s going to pour with rain, but then it blows over, so at the moment, the forecast thunder storms are holding off.

You can never have too much storage space grandMattie 😁.

Happy birthday ginny 🎂🍾💐.

Glad you’re feeling better, mick and that your appetite is returning.

I’ve only skimmed the posts, so wish all poorlies a better day today.

Oops Happy Birthday ginny 🎂🥂🎉

Sar53 it got dark here earlier but we haven’t had any rain yet.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 15-Jul-23 10:36:46

Morning all, I posted earlier but it has disappeared 🤷‍♀️

Nothing much planned for the day, other than planning for next week’s invasion of the teenage GC for a week whilst son and DiL party in Ibiza.

Good to see you posting Susan56
Grandmabatty you are very close to where we used to live, enjoy. I was in Arroya last September, still full of restaurants but it is rather touristy nowadays. Mijas is still lovely with spectacular views. Your GS’s might like the Cable Car which goes up the mountain behind Benalmadena there is a bird sanctuary at the top with regular displays.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning from a warm Algarve although temperatures aren’t as high as the horrendous ones in Spain.

I’ve only skimmed so far but saw that it is Ginny’s birthday and I hope you have a wonderful day. flowers
And good to see that Marydoll is feeling well enough to post again, and had a lovely time with the dollies.

Good morning from a dry NE for the time being anyway. Forecast for thunder and rain again today.
Lovely lunch with my friend, I made it home just efore the rain set in for the rest of the day.
Last night was dark and miserable and I had to resort to a thick cardigan to sit in front of the TV.
DS and GD2 are visiting this afternoon and we are thinking of going to see my sister and BIL with the poorly leg.
Have a good weekend.

I've got a button box - somewhere... I just thought this would be different!

Liberty Sat 15-Jul-23 09:14:07

gM one of the things our children loved when visiting my parents was my mum’s button tin which contained several dozen buttons. They spent hours sorting them into different categories of their choice, size, colour, number of holes….and later loved having cotton and thread and ‘sewing ‘ the holes. Simple pleasures….

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. On cat duty this morning as DD2 has had to go away overnight and is worried the cat will be lonely. She is a beautiful little black cat but I am sure she will have slept the the night away. This afternoon is cooking and hoping to catch a bit of the Ladies Final at Wimbledon.
Yesterday's talk about the Workhouse at U3A was very interesting, apparently because the Workhouse was also used as a hospital people doing their genealogy often think their relatives were in the Workhouse but they actually only died there after some medical emergency.
gM my mum used to keep a box of large buttons that always needed sorting out!
Happy Birthday ginny
Nice to hear of the baby cuddles going on.
Very best to all

grandMattie Sat 15-Jul-23 08:59:08

Happy birthday ginny
My earrings don’t really need sorting, they are carefully paired in little plastic bags, but little girls love playing with jewellery. She had a lovely time putting them into fish (the most) and non-fish heaps…

Good morning from a wet Co Armagh , and it’s to get wetter !!
I was going to do some dead heading , lots of plants are looking woebegone, so might just cut them back
I need milk , the one I opened this morning looks a bit iffy , it smells ok , but I’ll not chance it , I don’t fancy lumpy tea !
Thoughts with all our poorly and unhappy

Good morning from Durham. It’s brightened up since I started to read this thread. I’m picking DGS1 up from football this morning and amusing him for the day so his parents can buy some odds and ends for their holiday. I’ve a few ideas to run by him, then we might meet up with DD2 and her little one for ice-cream later.
Birthday wishes to Ginny
Good to hear Marydoll is a little better, bar her dental issue.
Best wishes to all. X

Nannagarra Sat 15-Jul-23 08:55:18

Good morning from damp Sefton.
Many congratulations Pittcity, happy birthday ginny and 👋 Susan56. I’m really pleased to read the encouraging news from Mick and Mizuna.
Nothing specific is planned for today. Like Marydoll, I’m preoccupied with an impending procedure. Distraction is my aim.
Urms, Kalu and the grans here who face struggles are in my thoughts.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Bright start to the day but clouds are massing and the forecast deluge looks inevitable. DGD1 has found being out of the house before 8.00 am demanding and will undoubtedly need a lie in so a slow start this morning. We will need to stock up for the coming week and I want to watch the tennis this afternoon but no other plans. Very dull for a young person I fear.

Good to see Mick and Marydoll sounding livelier; nice to hear from Susan, and I am on the side of those telling gMattie that you can’t have too much storage. Our DDs don’t always know best!

Sar53 Sat 15-Jul-23 08:47:30

Good morning from the Essex coast where the heavens have just opened and it's very windy too.
We have to go food shopping later and I will watch the tennis this afternoon.
Happy Birthday to Ginny, have a lovely day.
I hope you all have the best Saturday you can despite the weather xxx

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's blowing a hoolie here but sunny after a day of rain.

The Italian meal was really nice. We used to have family events there with DH, in-laws and cousins but I'd not been back now that I m on my own. They remembered us all and asked after the DGC
That after an afternoon of guilt free Wimbledon watching grin
I'll miss the final as we've been invited to a garden party conservatory and it's my last and my cousin's last day. I need to pack for Skye.

I had thought you were having a childfree holiday grandmabatty but you must adore them are a sucker for punishment

So glad your days are improving Mick.
Efficient as usual gMattie . I love the picture of your earrings being sorted.
grin
That new baby is gorgeous Pittcity
Amazing how quickly they are allowed home.

Have a wonderful day whether you are cold or too hot. Those temperatures in Europe are too high for humans.

BlueSapphire Sat 15-Jul-23 08:13:40

Good morning everyone from a very damp Northampton; more rain and thundery showers forecast for today, so I shall not be going out - which means no hay fever! I had a glorious day yesterday without it!

Met a friend for coffee yesterday morning in Sainsbury's cafe which was lovely; we chatted away for a good hour and a half. Then had a mooch around the shops before heading to the bus stop for home. By which time it was bucketing down! Luckily I have a walk of only 100 yards from the stop to my front door, so didn't get too wet.

Had plans to watch the first night of the Proms last night, but because of weather conditions couldn't get a BBC 2 signal, so had to give up, and spend an evening watching recordings.

A day in today, so shall read the papers, do the puzzle pages, then decide which book to start next. I have finished my book club read, On Chesil Beach. Or I may pick up my knitting.....

Hope those on holiday abroad enjoy the sunshine, and those in the UK don't get too wet!

Nice to be with sis and littlebro.

Bests for poorlies, and may outings and family meet ups well.
