Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton, showers and sunny spells forecast later, I hope not around lunchtime, as I shall be heading into town on the.bus.

Shall be meeting DS and family in town for a drink, and then going mid-afternoon to see elder DGD dance in her end of year stage show. She is now 15, so one of the seniors - she started when she was 3! I always look forward to seeing the babies perform during the show, not a dry eye in the house! DS's car is in the garage for repairs, hence having to get the bus.

Did very little.yesterday, apart from catching up with recordings and knitting whilst doing so.

Hope today is a pleasant one for all; thinking of absent friends.

Good morning all from a rainy Glasgow,

Where it's 13°C, with more rain forecast.
My only task today is to trim a beautiful print of Duffus Castle to fit in frame for DD.
Its a bit tricky and I am slightly apprehensive, I seem to have misplaced my once precise crafting skills.

Yesterday passed quickly. DD and SIL appeared with delicious cakes and pies from a new bakery, which opened locally this week, the Ebay queen arrived with a gift from Spain and then we saw Dollie at the Vigil Mass. A pleasant and non taxing day all round.
The PP asked me to do some jobs for him, but I politely declined, saying I was still quite unwell. He was quite taken aback, because I never say No. I also look very well, so you would never know I was ill. It's amazing what a bit of make cup can do! 😉

Wishing you all a pleasant Sunday. Grammaretto, enjoy your trip. That's a long journey for you.

I knew I had forgotten to mention someone. Blossoming, I hope you start to feel better and can get out and about soon.

Good morning all from drizzly South Lanarkshire.

A quiet day ahead, Mass then brunch at a cafe with DH, our usual Sunday routine. I’ll probably finish my book after I’ve made a batch of chilli for the freezer.

About ten minutes ago I thought to myself that I’d give my mother a ring shortly, she died over five years ago. Very odd.

Anyhoo enjoy the TdF/tennis if that’s your thing and have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning everyone from north Norfolk; day two of our holiday. Although it’s blowing a gale we have been cosy in our cottage.

The glass blowing yesterday was fantastic; a wonderful demonstration showing us the making of several pieces. The man demonstrating made it look so easy - the mark of a true expert. I then had a go at making a multi coloured vase. I was really pleased with my efforts - I was offered a job, but had to, regretfully, decline! I can pick my vase up later in the week when it has cooled down.

We then spent a very pleasant afternoon in Fakenham going around the town on their self guided heritage trail. Apart from one shower in the morning we had no rain, but it became increasingly windy.

Today we plan a trip to Wells by the Sea and a wander around the surrounding area.

Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning all from Benalmadena where it's currently 28° and sunny. There are a few clouds about. I've had breakfast and I'm lying on a sunbed reading. The family aren't down yet. I've had a number of halting conversations in Spanish and been understood which is lovely. We met a really nice family from Madrid who took dgs1 under their wing and we're very kind to him. I am having a good time. I'm thinking of many of you. Have a good day all

Good morning from a windy NE.
Yesterday the weather was horrible, heavy rain and then a thunderstorm at lunchtime that abated after about an hour but returned again just as DS and GD pulled on to the drive.
SIL will be coming this afternoon and we will be having dinner together. I might ask him to help me choose some new bar stools for the kitchen, he is good at flat pack and says he would be happy to put them together.
DS and family are off to York for the day, I do hope the weather is kind to them.
Thoughts are with poorly people and their carers.

GrannySomerset Sun 16-Jul-23 08:43:43

DGD1 spent yesterday nursing a cold caught from school - exposure to fierce new south western germs I suppose - but felt better by evening. Stock up shop, tackle one of my kitchen cupboards of shame and the tennis will fill the day, I expect. Hope it is drier than yesterday and that we all have a satisfactory day.

Good morning from a sunny ( at the moment) N. Bucks.
Thanks for all the birthday greetings yesterday. I had a lovely day, ending with a family meal. Flowers and craft vouchers and cup cakes decorated by the two little DGSs.

I have along TO DO list over the next. few weeks. Lots of jobs that have been put off and some that I will enjoy.

Best wishes to all with illness and worries.
Happy travels to holidaymakers.
Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a very windy Darlington.

We are here on a couple of days break. We got a good offer on the hotel so thought why not. Today we are visiting our friends in Stanley County Durham. Tomorrow we will head back through York and visit my Dad. We will take him for lunch.
We are quite impressed with Darlington town. They are lucky to have a House of Fraser which we lost long ago in Hull.

Grandmabatty it’s so lovely to hear you are on holiday you really deserve it. I imagine it’s scorching.

I haven’t managed to get on much in a morning so I’m hoping I haven’t missed too much.
I do think of you all.

Have a lovely Sunday with family and friend gatherings and delicious Sunday lunches. Safe journeys to those on the move. 🌻🌻

Good morning from Durham - yes, thunder, lightning and torrential rain yesterday! The washing outside got so wet and heavy, I thought the line might snap. DGS2 is very alarmed by loud noises, so we stayed indoors until the worst was over. He’s had a sleepover and I’ll be taking him home soon.
The weather seems more settled today.
Then coffee with a friend as she can’t make our Monday morning date.
Pleased some posters are feeling more upbeat today.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from a cloudy blustery Black Country, where it rained off and on most of the day yesterday.

No real plans, perhaps a walk with my friend to the park whilst MrJ does a cycle ride.

Sounds like a lovely relaxing holiday so far Grandmabatty

Wishing you all a relaxing Sunday

Good morning,
The rain has ceased for the moment, though the sky looks full of it. Yesterday, we had torrential rain and thunderstorms. Apparently, one of the nearby supermarkets had to close as its entrance flooded. At least the gardens are benefitting, although the grass has put such a spurt on that it will need cutting as soon as it’s dry enough to do so.
A lazy Sunday planned, with perhaps some pottering in the garden deadheading, etc, if the rain holds off.

Pleased to read that as each day passes you are feeling that bit better, mick. Enjoy the TdF this afternoon.

To all unwell, sad or troubled, I hope today brings you some respite.

Good morning Mick and everyone from breezy brightish Carlisle.
Friday saw a visit to the doc who is going to organise one of those ECG machines for me to wear for a few days, after I'd expressed my concerns about my slowing ticker. He didn't seem concerned but do they ever? Heaven knows when it will be. I'm surprised our surgeries can't fit them as one did for me before in Whitehaven, (heart having too fast episodes then!)

Well, I have survived to get another birthday in today, quite a few more to get in before achieving my card from the king/president.
I'm going to have a day of not much, I am expecting a treat later, will tell all tomorrow!

Have a good day all.

Good Morning from a windswept and rainy holiday Devon.

Yesterday I had a wet and windy Beach walk, this has been a pretty indoorsy holiday. Nice to be around my sis and bro.

I watched a film on prime called "What we did on holiday" Very very highly recommended indeed - quirky/funny family drama a sadness but happy end. (watch out for not getting the 1961 film of same name)

I need to take it really easy today as long drive back tomorrow

Bests for poorlies and enjoy outings and family.

Happy Birthday

Windy but mild here in North Norfolk. Will be cooking all morning. Daughter and partner usually come but have invited his widowed mother too. They take her out most weekends but are getting fed up with it as she has 3 other children living nearby who never take her out so it’s all on them. They were arguing about it yesterday so I thought maybe inviting her here would be a change for her plus smooth the waters for them.
Maybe I will need a few paracetamol after lunch!! 🤣🤣

ginny Sun 16-Jul-23 09:50:59

Happy birthday Ekwanimiter.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 16-Jul-23 09:57:06

Good morning from a sunny, breezy South Downs.

All behind like the cows tails this morning! Just finished sorting out my airing cupboard and unwrapped the new sheets - like an idiot I have ordered all blimmin’ fitted sheets -so have just ordered the correct flat sheets. So my savings in the sale aren’t! 😡.

The garden is so battered after yesterdays gales, and it is still very windy out, but I will try to prop up a couple of things.

Final today, - I don’t think I can watch it as I just know that Djokovic will win and he isn’t someone I can take to at all.

Fish day today so salmon Mediterranean bake for lunch. Minestrone soup for later. Must go and pick some carrots , onions and beans for the soup.

Happy birthday 🎂🎂 Ekwa!
