Good morning from a blowy but sunny W Kent. A quiet day with lamb chops for lunch and the tennis.
baubles I occasionally think I will tell my mum something, usually about the GC, she has been gone a lot longer than yours!
Best wishes to all

Good morning from a cloudy blustery Black Country, where it rained off and on most of the day yesterday.

No real plans, perhaps a walk with my friend to the park whilst MrJ does a cycle ride.

Sounds like a lovely relaxing holiday so far Grandmabatty

Wishing you all a relaxing Sunday

Good morning from Durham - yes, thunder, lightning and torrential rain yesterday! The washing outside got so wet and heavy, I thought the line might snap. DGS2 is very alarmed by loud noises, so we stayed indoors until the worst was over. He’s had a sleepover and I’ll be taking him home soon.
The weather seems more settled today.
Then coffee with a friend as she can’t make our Monday morning date.
Pleased some posters are feeling more upbeat today.
Best wishes to all. X

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a very windy Darlington.

We are here on a couple of days break. We got a good offer on the hotel so thought why not. Today we are visiting our friends in Stanley County Durham. Tomorrow we will head back through York and visit my Dad. We will take him for lunch.
We are quite impressed with Darlington town. They are lucky to have a House of Fraser which we lost long ago in Hull.

Grandmabatty it’s so lovely to hear you are on holiday you really deserve it. I imagine it’s scorching.

I haven’t managed to get on much in a morning so I’m hoping I haven’t missed too much.
I do think of you all.

Have a lovely Sunday with family and friend gatherings and delicious Sunday lunches. Safe journeys to those on the move. 🌻🌻

Good morning from a sunny ( at the moment) N. Bucks.
Thanks for all the birthday greetings yesterday. I had a lovely day, ending with a family meal. Flowers and craft vouchers and cup cakes decorated by the two little DGSs.

I have along TO DO list over the next. few weeks. Lots of jobs that have been put off and some that I will enjoy.

Best wishes to all with illness and worries.
Happy travels to holidaymakers.
Wishing all a pleasant day.

DGD1 spent yesterday nursing a cold caught from school - exposure to fierce new south western germs I suppose - but felt better by evening. Stock up shop, tackle one of my kitchen cupboards of shame and the tennis will fill the day, I expect. Hope it is drier than yesterday and that we all have a satisfactory day.

harrigran Sun 16-Jul-23 08:39:43

Good morning from a windy NE.
Yesterday the weather was horrible, heavy rain and then a thunderstorm at lunchtime that abated after about an hour but returned again just as DS and GD pulled on to the drive.
SIL will be coming this afternoon and we will be having dinner together. I might ask him to help me choose some new bar stools for the kitchen, he is good at flat pack and says he would be happy to put them together.
DS and family are off to York for the day, I do hope the weather is kind to them.
Thoughts are with poorly people and their carers.

Good morning all from Benalmadena where it's currently 28° and sunny. There are a few clouds about. I've had breakfast and I'm lying on a sunbed reading. The family aren't down yet. I've had a number of halting conversations in Spanish and been understood which is lovely. We met a really nice family from Madrid who took dgs1 under their wing and we're very kind to him. I am having a good time. I'm thinking of many of you. Have a good day all

Good morning everyone from north Norfolk; day two of our holiday. Although it’s blowing a gale we have been cosy in our cottage.

The glass blowing yesterday was fantastic; a wonderful demonstration showing us the making of several pieces. The man demonstrating made it look so easy - the mark of a true expert. I then had a go at making a multi coloured vase. I was really pleased with my efforts - I was offered a job, but had to, regretfully, decline! I can pick my vase up later in the week when it has cooled down.

We then spent a very pleasant afternoon in Fakenham going around the town on their self guided heritage trail. Apart from one shower in the morning we had no rain, but it became increasingly windy.

Today we plan a trip to Wells by the Sea and a wander around the surrounding area.

Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning all from drizzly South Lanarkshire.

A quiet day ahead, Mass then brunch at a cafe with DH, our usual Sunday routine. I’ll probably finish my book after I’ve made a batch of chilli for the freezer.

About ten minutes ago I thought to myself that I’d give my mother a ring shortly, she died over five years ago. Very odd.

Anyhoo enjoy the TdF/tennis if that’s your thing and have the best day possible everyone.

Marydoll Sun 16-Jul-23 08:24:40

I knew I had forgotten to mention someone. Blossoming, I hope you start to feel better and can get out and about soon.

Good morning all from a rainy Glasgow,

Where it's 13°C, with more rain forecast.
My only task today is to trim a beautiful print of Duffus Castle to fit in frame for DD.
Its a bit tricky and I am slightly apprehensive, I seem to have misplaced my once precise crafting skills.

Yesterday passed quickly. DD and SIL appeared with delicious cakes and pies from a new bakery, which opened locally this week, the Ebay queen arrived with a gift from Spain and then we saw Dollie at the Vigil Mass. A pleasant and non taxing day all round.
The PP asked me to do some jobs for him, but I politely declined, saying I was still quite unwell. He was quite taken aback, because I never say No. I also look very well, so you would never know I was ill. It's amazing what a bit of make cup can do! 😉

Wishing you all a pleasant Sunday. Grammaretto, enjoy your trip. That's a long journey for you.

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton, showers and sunny spells forecast later, I hope not around lunchtime, as I shall be heading into town on the.bus.

Shall be meeting DS and family in town for a drink, and then going mid-afternoon to see elder DGD dance in her end of year stage show. She is now 15, so one of the seniors - she started when she was 3! I always look forward to seeing the babies perform during the show, not a dry eye in the house! DS's car is in the garage for repairs, hence having to get the bus.

Did very little.yesterday, apart from catching up with recordings and knitting whilst doing so.

Hope today is a pleasant one for all; thinking of absent friends.

Grammaretto Sun 16-Jul-23 08:11:34

Good morning from the bus. On my way to Skye. I am wearing outdoor clothes! Thanks for the good wishes Jaxjacky .

A lad I know who works in IKEA and used to help in our garden years ago was on my bus. He didn't know about DH and began to tell me how he needs to get out of customer service but he feels stuck and too old....... I stared at him and told him how old I was. He did manage a smile! grin
So glad you are feeling better Mick.

Best wishes for a happy Sunday everyone.

Good morning from a dry and sunny Suffolk. Apart from some winds, nowhere as strong as predicted and chilly,we had no rain, some sun and a similar forecast for today. I think I’ve said before that we see to have a micro climate here being in the coastal strip although 5 miles away from the sea.

In spite of not much rain, the grass is a bright green and the pond full. Perhaps having a clay soil helps……

Dog walk soon and then I’ll make a tea loaf as I soaked the dried fruit in tea last night. Apart from that,an easy day with the papers. Unlike most of you we don’t watch the tennis these days although decades ago I watched Rosie Cassals on the centre courts using tickets belonging to a friend’s father’s company.

Thinking of those suffering in any way.

Gingster Sun 16-Jul-23 08:08:21

Good morning all and it’s sunny, still a bit breezy here in Essex.

The winds were very blustery yesterday - I always worry about our cottage by the sea when it’s so strong. A few years ago, our old summerhouse blew away, through the fences, down on to the beach. Thank goodness no one was hurt.

Yesterday the tennis was exciting and we had strawberries and cream with db and SIL. Today we’ll watch the men’s final. I’ll be sad that it’s over for another year. 🎾.

Our family have lots of birthdays through the summer and today is DIL’s.

Mizuna that aromatic posy sounds delightful.
Llf mmmm chocolate and raspberry pud.

I hope you all have a good day. 🌸

Good morning all from sunny at the moment Black country, another day of rain yesterday managed to avoid the really heavy downpours.
The pump to the shower packed in yesterday have been in touch with the plumber but it looks like a week of cold showers never mind worst things happen.
Shall carry on reading my book and we have lamb later for dinner my favourite.
Best wishes for anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Nannagarra Sun 16-Jul-23 08:00:54

Good morning from Sefton. The strong wind has abated but it’s still gusty, discouraging me from cycling, so I’ll take a brisk walk.
Have the best day possible everyone.

fancythat Sun 16-Jul-23 07:59:47

Good morning from down South.
Currently overcast. Havent looked up the weather forecast so dont know what the weather has in store later.

Day of rest today. Which is just as well, as havent recovered properly from the holiday yet.

Pittcity Sun 16-Jul-23 07:58:11

Good morning from sunny Colchester. The wind has dropped and were promised a warm, dry day.
A lot of events were cancelled here yesterday because of the high winds.
Today I plan to get to the bottom of the laundry basket and get some ironing done before watching the tennis later. Roast chicken this evening with a glass of wine.
Love to all 🦩 x

Foxygloves Sun 16-Jul-23 07:57:12

Good morningMick and all, I read but don’t often post as I rarely have exciting in the way of plans for the day.
But today is different! Fortunately my back spasms which laid me out on Friday have passed 🤞🤞🤞and I’m off with friends at 9 to Buxton Music Festival to see La Somnambula this afternoon. I understand the forecast is pretty diabolical so it will be raincoats all round. Does anybody remember galoshes?
With special thought for Urms, Kalu, Cornergran and all others who are weary, worried or poorly.

brook2704 Sun 16-Jul-23 07:54:56

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy and dry just now but rain due later.
It sounds like a lovely afternoon lined up Mizuna enjoy the final!
I really must tackle the cleaning and housework today, I always prefer to be outside in the garden so the inside is often neglected. Also I’ve our regular Sunday FaceTime call with DS to look forward to later
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Blossoming Sun 16-Jul-23 07:48:45

Good morning everyone from cool cloudy Lancashire.

I’m glad you’re ion the mend Mick, enjoy the cycling.

We have had rain and thunderstorms over the last few days. It hasn’t been fit to go out. No real plans for today, we’ll see how it goes.

I really don’t cope well with disruption when having work done GrandMattie, hope it goes smoothly.

Safe journey to all travelling today, hope people are enjoying their holidays.

Thinking of Kalu, Urms and all who are dealing with illness right now.

Have a good day all 🌹

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 16-Jul-23 07:42:08

Good morning Mick and all, pleased you are feeling and getting better.
Very wet with gales yesterday, still breezy today but dry at the moment, all beds and bedding washed and ironed yesterday, along with other washing all dried and ironed, bedrooms hoovered and dusted, all MzOops stuff stashed away.
Sadly one of her pets died whilst she was away, she has had some rotten things happen lately, let’s hope this was the last one.
Not much to do today, dog will be here later for a couple of days so probably a few damp walks.
Have a good day everyone, hugs to those who aren’t so chipper today.

karmalady Sun 16-Jul-23 07:26:56

Good morning, weak weather today, cooler, bit of sun, maybe rain

I thought you would have a connection Mick. I remember making musette cycling bags for dh in the old days. The genes have it, his father, him, the three AC plus dh sibling and a milk race

I must get myself out for exercise later, not on my bike as the roads were very wet yesterday and I don`t like mud. Just brisk walking but there is a good steep hill that I march up, getting more and more puffed on the way up

Jumper will be finished today and ready to wear, feels deliciously warm and cosy and perfect for winter. It was dark enough for lights on at 8pm yesterday, a few minutes a day is adding up

Have a good day
