Toiletries for teenage boy

I've discovered a big gap in the market for toiletries suitable for a 13 year old boy. There's loads of stuff for girls but I couldn't find anything specifically for boys of this age. One assistant advised me to buy mens sensitive body spray. Any thoughts?

Not sure that there is anything specific for young boys. My 14 yr old grandson uses Dove for men. Hide the Lynx products !

I used to buy Dove for men when my son was a teenager.

Lynx, Dove, Ted Baker and many others in Boots and online.

My son used Nivea men when he was a teenager.

Go to Lush. They promote ethical buying too.

Lynx! (To excess)

If my 15 year old grandson's toilet bag is anything to go by, there's no gap in the market!

Ask him, he’ll have his favourites don’t your money on just any. Just like girls there are definite ins and outs amongst the teen lads

Spots and Stripes sell products for young teens, male and female.

Lynx Africa - been buying that for my neighbour’s son for years.

There are loads of things for boys. Last I heard it was Lynx or what you can nick from your dad!

The 8yr old GS had his school disco last night, he showered using my Jo Malone products and finished off with GrandpaGravy’s Boss aftershave 😳

Just buy men's toiletries, my grandson loves them he's 15, as did the other three.

I got my DGS who’s 14 several items from Spots & Stripes for Xmas but it was ridiculously expensive.

I've given my DGSs men's toiletries for Christmas for some time now and no complaints. Judging by certain aromas, I'm sure they pinch their fathers' cologne etc. I expect that my (almost) 18 year-old GS will tell me what his preferences are and he's certain to mention the most exclusive products, as he is somewhat fashion conscious.

Nivea for Men, Dove for Men, Imperial Leather, English Leather... all are suitable.

Quite! With a son, old enough to shave living at home, many years ago now, DH took to keeping his new razor blades in my underwear drawer, at my suggestion as son rifled his every time he had forgotten that boxer shorts need to be washed occasionally.

One irrate son, getting ready to go on a date, announced that there were no new razor blades in the bathroom, and was advised to nip down round the corner to Aldi and buy some!

He came back and with every sign of righteous indignation asked, " Do you know what razor blades cost""

He was NOT amused when his father and I replied in chorus, "Yes."

Not aware of a gap in the market, I think teenage boys are a prime target for toiletry advertising.

eazybee Thu 20-Jul-23 16:33:41

My son used Simple toiletries as he hated anything scented.

My Gs’s 13 and 9 both love Lynx as do most of their schoolfriends

No idea what’s fashionable, but if you walk down the street at school starting time and pass a group of teenage lads, you can be bowled over by the (very pleasant) smells.

I would imagine that a 13 year-old would be spoilt for choice as regards all the toiletries available now, some of which seem targeted at the younger male, e.g. Lynx, Ted Baker, Denim.

It was so much easier back in the day, when I recall my big brother having a choice of Old Spice or 4711 cologne, and that was about it! Je Reviens by Worth was my teenage choice as regards a fragrance, and still is. Happy days.

I would ask the mum/dad what he likes... or buy a voucher for (say) Boots.

Wright's Coal Tar soap - lashings thereof!
