Good Morning Everyone,
Its another bright start here in brackley this morning.
Still Diahorhrea problems c/w weight going up and down .
I should be seeing a nurse at my local surgery but have doubts.
I only hope I can bring the problem under control with capsules I have .
Take Care,

Marydoll your fall story reminded me of when I was on a train which slammed to a halt as an elderly lady was walking through my carriage. She very elegantly (as I'm sure you did) fell sideways into the lap of a similar aged man who caught her and planted a kiss on her cheek. It was somehow charming, not inappropriate, and there were smiles all round, including from the lady!

Happy Anniversary luluaugust 🎉🎈🥂have a lovely day both.

Good Morning from an overcast S Yorks tho the forecast says sun today. Hope we od, and your lawn gets cut, Grey.

Hoping to go for a little swim later, haven't been to the gym for 9 days because of away-break.

Mick definitely pressurise them if the capsules dont work.

Best wishes for poorlies and falls, and may endeavours work out as well as they might.

Oh my Marydoll. Hope you're not too sore today and that 46°C was a typo 😅

It was indeed a typo! it was actually only 7°C. I was obviously wishfully thinking of my beloved Rome. (Sigh!)

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
DS and DD joined me for annual financial review with advisors yesterday which went well, no dramatics, although I should really downsize, large garden etc. With health issues, age etc, the thought fills me with horror.
Then a ‘big’ shop with DD after holiday and a need to stock up. She whizzes round the supermarket so quickly I hardly have time to think. I had cooked a chicken and DS and DD cooked the veg for the tasty evening meal.
I had Love Island on my tv for the first time. Apologies from DD and not my style lol.
I knocked a bedside lamp over and the bulb smashed over the carpet, so hoovering at 9 in the evening as bits of glass are not a good idea with bare feet…

I’m so sorry you are still having problems Mick, hope things settle down. Annoying day Ash!
Thoughts to Urms Kalu and Susan and all with worries.

“Have a nice day!” as our American friends say🌹

Happy Anniversary luluaugust.

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire. Sorry you’re still having problems with diarrhoea Mick, I hope you can get some help with it. Glad you had a better day Susan.

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny, breezy day and I was able to get out for a short walk. MrB took me to the post office, I don’t have any bar code stamps. No real plans for today other than a little housework and hoping to have a walk around the marina.

I’m sorry to hear you had a fall Marydoll, fortunate that a pair of strong arms were there to help. Shame they weren’t Mr MD’s arms …. Hope today’s tests go well.

Thinking of Kalu, Urms, *Baggs and all who are dealing with illness right now.

Have a good day all 🌹

Good morning all from a sunny W Kent. Today is our 56th wedding anniversary. We spent breakfast trying to remember what we doing that morning, I think it was the hairdressers for me and barbers for DH, they brylcreamed his hair and I barely recognised him.
Ash must have been something in the air yesterday, for the first time in 23 years we had trouble with next door over their builders invading our garden. DH had a look online to see what work they are doing and there is no sign of a Planning permission (which is needed here).
Take care everyone.

EkwaNimitee Thu 20-Jul-23 08:45:41

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle where we have a cloudless blue sky. But will it last?!
I'm sorry to hear you seem to have taken a step back Mick, I echo advice to contact the surgery.

I finally got my hair cut yesterday and feel so much better for it! Silly really, because it looked fine before I had it done.

After lunch, I went out with my secateurs and launched an attack on 2 of my shrub roses. I know they can be very vigorous and get to be very big but these were exceeding their generous limits. As usual, they objected and as usual, I show the scars!

Today, I shall kick off with the ironing and just maybe, run the vacuum round downstairs. There is admin to do and maybe a new book to choose, I have finished the scary sci-fi one and shall probably delete it from my kindle. I do marvel at some writers' imaginations and don't think I'd like to live with the sort of brain that can come up with horror stories.

Have the best possible day all of you.

Good morning from Sefton. Dull, damp underfoot & breezy again but looks like it might brighten up. A few blue breaks in the cloud.
Zumba in the Parish Hall first thing. Hoping it stays cloudy as the hall has very large windows through which the sun pours in the morning making it uncomfortably hot for an exercise class. Then possibly into town on the train using our bus pass. Thank you Merseytravel.
Take care all.

GrannySomerset Thu 20-Jul-23 08:39:52

Lunch today with local friends but must stick to a salad as DGD1 is taking me out to supper tonight as a thank you for having her to stay. The pleasure has been mine, as has hearing her stories about the lovely school where she has been helping out; she would sign up for a PGCE tomorrow if eligible, but has three more years at university and may change her mind before then.

Sorry that Mick is still struggling and second all those urging him to seek further medical advice. Well done, Marydoll - another memorable occasion, and I hope you are none the worse for your trip. Glad Susan is gradually feeling better, and wishing Ashcombe a rather better day today.

Ashcombe Thu 20-Jul-23 08:37:03

Mizuna

Oh dear Ash, it can only get better today!

Thanks for all the kind comments, folks!

I omitted to mention that I arrived home from a rehearsal last night to discover that DH had broken a wineglass…….. and it was full of wine! 🙄

Taichinan Thu 20-Jul-23 08:32:39

Good morning all. The sun is elbowing its way through the clouds on the Angus coast but it looks as if the clouds will win.
Mick I can't believe the lack of care you seem to have after such a major op. There must surely be someone to call on who can help you? Please contact your surgery and don't be fobbed off.
Jacs7 I am so enjoying your holiday in Norfolk - thank you for sharing so vividly. The age of that henge is mind boggling isn't it and to still be able to see the axe marks made by a real person so long ago ....... Beyond fascinating!
Yesterday just after lunch I remembered I hadn't cancelled my hair appointment for tomorrow (I'd double-booked myself) and when I phoned I was offered a cancellation for 4pm. I hastily changed out of 'housework' gear, hopped in the car and off, leaving the washing out. The heavens opened several times, depositing copious amounts of the wet stuff, and in fact as I turned into the road that leads to my house on the return journey (just a mile to go) there was a cloudburst of Biblical proportions. However, as I parked on my drive I realised everywhere was dry! Cue rush to the washing line and everything was rescued, still dry, before the downpour reached the garden. No wonder the met men get it wrong - but I bet they're right for somebody!
Now I must dash to get ready for tai chi. I hope everyone has the best day they can - so hard I know when life is not at its kindest. Love and care to all xflowersx

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I should get up soon. After yesterday’s busy day (U3A lunch, shingles jab and WI meeting) today should be a little quieter. But it won’t be! Our daughter is coming home for a few days. She thinks there will be a train from London otherwise she has to get a bus. I haven’t seen her since she took me to the theatre a few weeks ago. Her old Primary School are celebrating 150 years today so I think we will be popping in to look at the exhibition the school are organising and having a cream tea there! I used to go into the school and listen to the children reading and for a couple of years I taught year 6 how to cook. It should be fun. Thinking of those with difficulties.

Morning from a nice bright S Lanarkshire. I hope the weather stays pleasant for your holiday baubles, enjoy family time.

Poor Ash! I had to laugh by the end of your catastrophic day!

Susan, what a rotten time you’ve had, I hope things improve now.

You do need to talk to someone who can help to build up your strength so you can get out and about again Mick, don’t leave it any longer.

I had a nice lunch out with former colleagues yesterday, I can hardly believe it’s been twenty years since I retired and it’s lovely that this little group still has regular meet ups. We are a disparite crew so it is always interesting.

Tomorrow I have the audiologist at 9 o’clock and then heading off for a weekend at a friend’s house by the sea so fingers crossed for some decent weather but the forecast for the west coast doesn’t look great. Never mind we will no doubt manage to talk and she is an excellent cook!

I hope the funeral yesterday went as well as it could *Marydoll, such a very tragic loss.

Remembering daily Urms, Kalu and families.

ginny Thu 20-Jul-23 08:22:05

Good morning. Fairly bright here inN.Bucks but it still doesn’t feel very summery.

Manicure and pedicure this morning and sewing club this afternoon . This evening will be a finishing off some cards I have been painting.

Wishing the best day possible for you all.

Good morning from a sunny Essex coast.
Food shopping first thing today and then a trip to the bank in town.
I hope everyone has a peaceful day xxx

NannyJan53 Thu 20-Jul-23 08:17:56

Good morning from a dull and grey Black Country.

Thursday walk and talk group this morning, it was started almost 2 years ago by a local lady who asked if anyone wanted to join her for local walks....there are at least 10-15 regular attenders now. Starting point today is a local pub, where refreshments will be imbibed at the end!

I agree with everyone else Mick please contact your surgery.

Sounds like 'one of those days' Ashcombe hopefully today can only be an improvement

Enjoy your day everyone.

Greyduster Thu 20-Jul-23 08:09:11

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. There was a lovely sunrise this morning, but it’s rather overcast at the moment. Mick I hope you get to see someone at your surgery soon. I had a largely wasted day yesterday faffing around with car tyre problems, my energy company, and half a wasted session at the writers group which frustrated all of us, but at least we have a potential new member which is nice.
Today I am walking with the Thursday group, calling in to water DDs plants while they are away and will visit a local park to photograph the flowers. If the weather stays dry I’ll cut the grass this evening.
Have the best day you can folks.

Marydoll Thu 20-Jul-23 08:01:31

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny Glasgow, but it is only 46°C.

Mick, I too think you should contact someone for advice, it has been going on for too long. Could your diet be aggravating things?

GM, we have a shop here in Glasgow, called the Cotton Print Shop, I know you would love it!

Yesterday was a rather long day, with a bit of drama thrown in. (What else would you expect?)
The music at the funeral Mass was outstanding and so uplifting and emotional. I realised the cantor was not our usual one, then it dawned on me, that it was a friend and ex teaching colleague. She has the voice of a angel and sings at all the big Diocesan events. I have provisonally booked her for my own funeral and have made my instructions clear to DH. wink

The church was packed to the rafters with mourners and much to my embarrassment, in front of everyone I had a spectacular fall.
DH (it was definitely all his fault), hadn't lifted the kneeler at the end of the row (a given, to lift it), I came out of the row, on my way to Communion, never saw it was still down, cracked my ankle and went flying into the aisle in a noticebox manner. There was an audible gasp and thankfully, the music hid my expletives! wink.
Mr MD, who denies he is deaf and never looks back to check on me went blithely on his merry way, oblivious to my plight, while I held everything up. 🤬
Fortunately a quick thinking parishioner saw what was happening and I landed in his arms! I couldn't have drawn more attention to myself, if I had tried. I have hurt my already painful hip and shoulder. Mr MD cannot understand why I am so annoyed with him.
Mr MD asked, who had called me last evening. I said it was the parishioner, who caught me, checking I was OK. Why is that?, he asked! 🤬

Dare I say, I enjoyed the wake. It was held in DS1' golf club, which is out in the country, with beautiful views. I caught up with old friends, ex colleagues (the whole staff of the deceased's daughter and Dollie's school turned up), ex pupils ( one was my favourite pupil ever) and pupils, who are now teachers themselves in Dollie's school. I was greeted with such affection, that I felt quite emotional. I laughed when these adults said, that they couldn't address me by Christian name I will always be Mrs MD. grin. I feel so old!
I told my friend that she should be so proud of her daughter and family, they conducted themselves with such dignity.

Today I have liver function tests ( more than one toxic medication to blame ) and blood tests to determine the extent of my heart failure. I'm praying my recent spell is just a blip and my GP is wrong.

For all the busy people enjoy your day and as always my thoughts and prayers are with the many on here who have pain and sorrow.
