Good Morning Everyone,
ts a clear bright start here in brackley this morning.
Yesterdays Hospital appointment went OK .
I will have have a 6 month course of tables for Chemotherapy, hoping this clears a tumor in my stomach .
It as nice to get away from flat , today I plan to do a small local shop , before getting back into a routine such as bus journeys , but no coach tours .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from a cloudy and wet Glasgow, where it is 13°C, with more rain forecast.

I'm glad to hear your appointment went OK, Mick and got the correct date.
A couple of my friends had chemo tablets after bowel cancer. As said before, a consultant called it a belt and braces approach.
You will need to be careful on those buses Mick, because the medication will compromise your immune system and Covid seems to be rearing its ugly head again.

Yesterday's visit to Silverburn did not turn out the pleasant day out, I had hoped for.
I went to M&S to pick up my Click and Collect, but the pick up area had vanished. I was all over the store, trying to find it. It had become automated, but there was no reception and I couldn't get into my phone to access the order number. What a faff!
I looked up and there was a queue of impatient mums, with bored children in tow, waiting for me to get my act together! Oh dear, when did I become an old biddy?
It didn't help that I was coughing so badly and understandably, people were looking at me, as if I had the plague. I may need to consider becoming a hermit!
I had built my self up for a couple of treats from M&S food Hall and NONE were available. My daughter's friend is an assistant manager and he kindly checked for me, to no avail. My day was not going well.

Coming out of Tesco, ( after my usual random self scan trolley search, by the usual scary assistant), I saw a text from DIL, asking if I wanted a coffee. Dollie, had spotted my car, in its usual spot, I think the fact that it is bright yellow, made it easy to spot! Unfortunately, by the time I saw the text they had given up looking for me and gone home. 😔
As usual, I had overdone things and promptly fell asleep, (in between coughing fits).

DD asked if we could take Dollie a day next week, as she had to work. Then something niggled at the back of my mind about a injection delivery, but there was nothing in the calendar. I tried to get into my account, first my pin didn't work, then I was told I did not have an account, so I decided to reset everything, that didn't work.
Eventually, I deleted the app and started again. It finally worked and I was right about a delivery, so DD had to change her working day.
I was glad to get to bed last night!

Today we have a funeral at church, a husband and wife who died withing days of each other. Last week, it was a mother and daughter, who died withing days of each other. It's all very upsetting.
All the fit sacristans are on holiday, so I am going down to church, to help things run smoothly. I hope I can remember all the protocols for a funeral. The last time I had to do one, was pre pandemic.

Thinking of all who are struggling. Am I correct that this is the week of Mr Corner's op? I have lost track.
Mizuna, I hope you find those trainers and multi, enjoy your meet up with F.

Enjoy your day folks, whatever your plans.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, a dry day ahead, but heavy rain forecast overnight.

Had a good health walk yesterday, and then when I got home decided.to give the back grass another cut before I go away. I then did some pruning, trimmed the edges of the lawn, and scrubbed out and refilled the bird baths - was pretty much worn out after all that.

After dinner I phoned an old friend from our Cyprus days, (40 years ago!) and before we knew it an hour had gone by! I had missed her phone call to me in the afternoon, and it was lovely to catch up.

An easyish morning - just the bed to change and bedding to wash, then book club this afternoon. Oh, and the cats are being collected to go to the cattery,.so I must get their carriers ready,.and pack a bag with their bits.
Dinner tonight, thawing in the fridge, is chicken casserole.

Wishing all a pleasant Wednesday.

Good morning all from a sunny Black country rain forecast for later.
Today I need to pick up DH prescription and a trip to the bank.
Dinner at DS were we are child minding this evening while mum and dad have a date night, we will be putting the boys to bed a first for us so will have to get my bedtime story head on.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Grandmabatty Wed 26-Jul-23 08:14:55

Cornergran all the best for Me C tomorrow.

Gingster Wed 26-Jul-23 08:18:55

Good morning all and it’s sunny but rather cool at the moment. Forecast says it will be the best day of the week for sunshine here on the Suffolk coast. We’ll go out for the day, maybe to Orford . Walk along the spit and have lunch in the pub there.

I did a lot of clipping ferns and brambles yesterday and my shoulders and neck are aching.

Fingers crossed for Mr cornergran.

Enjoy all your family times . Summer is marching on. 🌸

Nannagarra Wed 26-Jul-23 08:22:42

Every good wish for Mr Corner tomorrow.

Foxygloves Wed 26-Jul-23 08:27:19

Good morning all - it’s bright here in N Bucks so I have hung out the washing I did yesterday evening but will keep a weather eye open.
After a sad and reflective day yesterday - it’s a lonely wake up call when there is nobody left to share those memories - I intend to get myself back into gear today.
I feel for you Marydoll it sounds like one of those days when you want to go back to bed and start all over again- like rebooting the computer.
Keeping everything tightly crossed 🤞 for you and Mr C Cornergran I remember too well the frustrations of cancelled procedures and things were not as shambolic then. It was hard sometimes to stay philosophical and many chocolate biscuits were consumed. Willing it to go ahead though.
My next door neighbours extension starts this morning. They are lovely people and have been very concerned about noise etc but it is the one side of my house with no windows and I’m sure I’ll be fine. I’ll turn the TV up if necessary! gringrin
With kind thoughts to all especially those in need , I’ll just wish you a pleasant day.

Good morning all from bright and dry Argyll.

Wishing you well with your treatment Mick.

We had another lovely day yesterday, a good lunch out at a cafe in a tiny village a few miles away and in the afternoon DD and family went swimming. As our cottage is practically next door to the pool they all came here for a snack afterwards.

I think today may involve crabbing at the local pier.

Have the best day possible everyone.

hollysteers Wed 26-Jul-23 08:46:50

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
I hope your treatment goes well Mick, with no side effects.
I enjoyed the music club yesterday, although we now have too many poets and a memorial concert is being planned for our late founder and no one can agree on the format…

I will clean out my car for its MOT tomorrow and there’s always housework awaiting.
All the best to Mr.Corner and thoughts to all with troubles of any kind.

Greyduster Wed 26-Jul-23 08:47:23

Welcome Coco12! Everything crossed here, Corner!

Good morning from a sunny Shropshire.
Need to mow the lawn today in case of rain tomorrow. DH and I do it between us as it’s got too much for him to do it all on his own.
Bed changing later and a walk this afternoon.
Annual blood tests showed a slightly raised blood sugar level so trying to up exercise ahead of next check in three months - and cut down on sugary food as well.
Thinking of Mr Corner, hope all goes to plan tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a nice day.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 26-Jul-23 08:57:40

Fingers crossed for MrC tomorrow 🤞

harrigran Wed 26-Jul-23 08:59:55

Good morning from a dry, for now, NE.
We had thunder yesterday evening but it did not last too long.
I have a delivery between 10 and 11am and SIl is coming to take me shopping.
Had a lazy day yesterday, watched all four episodes of the sixth commandment while doing crosswords.
Pleased your appointment was okay Mick.
Have a good day all.

grandMattie Wed 26-Jul-23 09:00:37

All crossed for the Cornergrans. 🫂❤️

Jaxjacky Wed 26-Jul-23 09:00:41

Welcome Palermablanca no aggro on this thread.

RosesandLilac Wed 26-Jul-23 09:08:29

Good morning from sunny south Gloucestershire, just back from a warm dog walk, rather pleasant after all the rain.
Today we might go for a longer walk across the hills and perhaps a pub lunch afterwards, seems like a good idea to me!
Yesterday we went into town for a few bits then to B&Q for DH to buy a new pond pump. It’s the first time I’ve been into shops for several months 🙄

monk08 Wed 26-Jul-23 09:15:51

🤞for MrC tomorrow
👋 hello and welcome Palomablanca

Grammaretto Wed 26-Jul-23 09:16:55

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Wet here and cold.
Yarn group for a nice coffee and natter and some knitting
I am having lunch with a French girl who was here about 6 years ago as a helper. Today I'm meeting her DH and little boy! How time flies.

Mick I hope the medication works and you can enjoy your coach trips once more.

Marydoll such a disappointing day for you.
All the best to the Corners and ofcourse our absent friends. Kalu and Urms

I wish I could send sunshine your way ☀️

Welcome to Paloma and Coco I hope you enjoy the group.

GrannySomerset Wed 26-Jul-23 09:17:56

An empty day ahead apart from some reluctant housework as Wonderful Cleaner is suffering from the results of a fall, poor soul - tripped over a paving stone with a bag of shopping in each hand and consequently her face bore the brunt. Not nice.

Fingers crossed for MrCorner and anyone waiting anxiously for the NHS to do its job. The uncertainty makes things so much harder.

Wyllow3 Wed 26-Jul-23 09:51:08

Morning from a currently sunny S Yorks. I’ve dared to put the washing out but on hangers, as I don’t trust the sun lasting.

I’m another who uses a local garage instead of the Volvo dealership which assumes that we are all swimming in money, and very happy as they collect the car and deliver back. I’m only using the car for vv local drives atm as car need special smoke tests and my garage has just agreed to buy the equipment to do them so I don’t have to go further afield …
but it does mean no little car outings to get some country views of the lovely High Peak for a couple of weeks.

Coco I’m another who cant start the day without my lattes.
Mick it must be a relief not to have to start going in weekly: hoping it works out well for you.

cornergran fingers and toes crossed!

Palomablanca just be selective and cautious until you find your way around, you’ll be fine.

Having a day at home so will try to catch up on some bits and bobs.

Bests for poorlies today and may outings be sunny and enjoyed.

Georgesgran Wed 26-Jul-23 09:57:38

Good morning from Durham, where it’s very cloudy. A handyman has arrived at the house opposite. Everyone knows they’re moving, but as they don’t speak to anyone we just await a ‘for sale’ board! It seems as if all the jobs that haven’t been tackled for years are finally on track - a ridge tile has been off 10 years!
I get DD2’s little dog later again for another week. He hardly seems to be home at the moment. Unfortunately DGS1 isn’t a dog fan, so the dog goes home for Friday, while I have DGS1 here! Up and down that bl**dy Western Bypass roadworks.
DH had oral chemo Mick without any side effects, other than that the capsules were huge. Take it easy though.
Good news for the Corners
Best wishes to all. X

What corner said about Susan's eat herb forecast nannag. They're often wrong. Hoping ours is. I'm getting quite tanned but I think it's rust!
