Morning Mick, morning All. A grey and unpromising start to the day.

Mr C’s successful surgery took longer than anticipated as did his stay in recovery. I’ll phone about 7.30 and see him late morning in ICU. Fortunately both sons can act as chauffeur for a couple of days, I’d not trust myself behind a wheel as although sleeping well last night I feel disoriented this morning. I’m sure normal service will resume soon Thank you all for yesterdays kind wishes, there’s been so much support from GN members which is hugely appreciated.

Good to hear you’ve been out and about mick, please do build up gradually. Early days yet. I’m not surprised you’re physically exhausted mary, it is good to hear you feel better though. A similar issue with ants for us greyd, the block paving paths are subsiding because of their mining prowess. We need an ant Pied Pier.

Best be off. Organisation is much needed. Thinking of everyone with worries. Hope today is kind to us all.

Thanks, Md, I’ve registered interest in the meet-up.

Good morning from a brighter Torbay than of late. We had a humid day yesterday, too, yesterday, karmalady.

I’ve head locals call Bristol “bristle”, grandMattie, so perhaps your predictive text has, too!!

We managed to get through the whole play last night so the director was pleased. Our techie team supplied lighting and sound effects last night, including an explosion, leading one cast member to exclaim,
“You were only supposed to blow the ———- doors off!”

Thoughts with those going through tough times. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from West Wales where a mainly dry day is forecast🤞🏻

We had a good journey down yesterday. We have brought the children with us.DD2 and B have joined us.They are camping we are not!We ate our fish and chips at the beach last night🥶and then the children spent a happy hour looking for sea creatures and treasure.

Today will be spent mainly at the beach. We will visit DH’s mum this afternoon. His niece will come over to see us at some point.

I hope Mr corner is on the road to recovery and that corner managed some sleep after what must have been a long and stressful day yesterday.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Good morning Mick and all who follow from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 12°C, It is to be rainy, but warm today.

Glad to hear you managed out yesterday Mick, but remember to pace yourself and not do too much too soon. You have had major surgery.

I have been wondering how Mr Corner got on yesterday. 💐

Unfortunately I have been awake since 5am, my lungs are very congested this morning and I am coughing non stop, after doing so well. I sound as if I smoke 60 Woodbines a day! 😁
I wonder if the pollen is high, because I am choked up with a blinding headache.

Today is my last day of covering for the holidaying sacristans, I can't believe I have managed it, albeit feeling pretty exhausted. However, it's a nice tiredness, not that all consuming fatigue. I had said I would take one day at a time and not commit myself to the week.
Being busy and social interaction have done wonders for my mental health.
DH said he had been anxious about me doing too much, but has admitted that I have benefitted from it,

Yesterday the church cleaners were in, some are in their eighties. They are amazing, but no-one dares to get in their way, when they are on a mission!
It was good to chat with them.
The PP asked me to discuss an issue with cleaning of the candlesticks. (He and the chief sacristan are afraid of their wrath) They don't understand that spraying the candlesticks over generously with WD 40, (to prevent wax adhering to the brass) is dangerous because it is highly inflammable, Not only that, our clothes are being splahed with it and the brass is turning green. It has not gone down well, consequently I have named it Candlegate, as opposed to Watergate. 😉
The OP wants to get a team of professional cleaners in, but I think all hell will break loose, if he does that.

Mizuna I have only three pears on my now large tree, less than last year. 😔
GM, I saw a thread about a meet up in the Bristol area, just in case you are interested.
Baubles, I am loving hearing about Oban, which Mr MD refuses to visit, after a traumatic journey on the old Rest And Be Thankful many moons ago!

Wishing you all the best of days and of course candles lit them. for all, who need

Good morning, s somerset feels humid and there will be on and off rain today, just enough for a dampner

A nice satisfying slow mo day yesterday, one of those in which things got done, not noticeably fast but nevertheless, done. I like a bit of this and a bit of that, inside and outside, wherever the mood takes me

Today I plan to go to an NT property, taking my waterproof gardening boots. I fancy a meander under the trees and along the grassy areas. It will be nice to be with nature

Have a good day and am hoping for some positive news from cornergran

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Glad to hear you had a good day yesterday Mick! Not sure what the weather in South Yorkshire is going to do but I will be busy all day - shopping early and food prep for a meal I’m cooking tomorrow. DD et al are now back from their holiday so I expect I shall see them at some point. When I came home from my usual Thursday walk yesterday, I could see that my drive was covered in starlings and sparrows! They were feeding on the ants that are nesting under my front door step. They scattered as I pulled into the drive, and I was sorry to interrupt their feasting as the ants are now becoming an awful nuiscance. The rate they appear to be mining at, I expect the house to collapse at any moment!! I will have to find something better than the ant powder I’ve been using.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from a dull Bristol (predictive text always gives me “bristle”!). Hope it’ll be sit-outable for a bit.
Glad to see you’re getting back to normal, Mick.
Quiet yesterday, apart from a vigorous tai chi - well stretched and exercised. It annoys me when the teacher lectures us about ills of our diets, the fact that we take medicines rather than do tai chi for our ailments, etc., but he speaks very softly so I can’t always make out what he says!
I did various bits of admin, wrote some letters, etc. Feel much better for a quiet day. Repeat today…
Hugs and prayers to the cornergrans, Marydolls, Urms and all the other unnamed families in my heart. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
