Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry but looking a bit grey over brackley this morning.
I had Fish & Chips yesterday from the local chippie ,and no change in my weight .
Today I plan to go to Bicester this morning on the bus ,and then watch cycling on TV , followed by a Chinese Take Away , trying to get back into a normal eating pattern .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Durham. Bright and breezy. Hoping for a more relaxed day today - coffee with a friend, finish DD2’s laundry and a dog walk to round it off - although that could all change if DD2 needs some help. DD1 is at Ladies Day, so I hope she looks after my best hat!
Good news last night from SueD especially without the long wait. I remember DH’s Consultant ringing him at home late one night to pass on results.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from bright Harrogate. What a time I’ve had trying to sort this post and problems with a TV which yesterday I discovered too late, was just not smart enough. Which I’d often joked. We had a Virgin Media technician round and he was as frustrated as I get trying to get it onto the internet. I have now been advised to use it with a fire stick!! It’s pretty ironic since my first email address I could only get on the TV over 20 years ago!!
Anyway I’m finally on track with my iPhone by downloading google chrome, think Safari had me out on a dessert island!!
I’ve tried keeping up with you, I could get page 1 then it would all go haywire. Good to hear Mick is getting back to normal. It remains to be seen if I am back to normal
Today will probably be a quiet day still recovering from entertaining DGS for the day on Thursday. We took him on the bus to Otley - there is a super children’s playground by the river which he loved, but the bus journey there we had given up our seat to an older bloke who had mobility equipment. Dgs kept shouting at him ‘that’s my seat’. He had everyone on the bus in stitches with his antics. In fact, on the bus back a couple told him they were not on his seat (they’d been behind us).
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning everyone from a bright and dry Inverness with a bit of blue sky peeping through.
That champagne breakfast sounds good BlueSapphire and enjoy the formal night tonight
I had a lovely day yesterday, the gym and catch up with my friend in the morning and seeing DGD in the afternoon. Over this weekend I’ve got to finish sorting out the bedrooms for DD1 and DGSs who are coming to stay next week and get my online grocery shopping order in. It’ll be a busy week ahead but I’m really looking forward to it.
So pleased you had a lovely relaxing holiday baubles that view over the water is stunning and I’d like to visit those gardens sometime, thanks for the recommendation
Hope you’re feeling better soon kitty
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from Sefton where a sunny afternoon is forecast. Atm it’s rather cloudy and dark.
General faffing about will occupy us. Whatever your plans, have the best day possible. Thoughts to those with worries.

Thanks Marydoll, at least it's only marathon-length knitting I'm dreaming of and not attempted murder.

Good morning from a breezy and dull N.Bucks,.
A local food shop this morning and a coffee stop.
DH is going to clean the patio and I have a cake to make and a couple of cupboards to clear and tidy. Hopefully some watercolour painting later.

Kind and / or healing thoughts to all who need them and a good day for everyone .

A quick good morning from a grey damp Suffolk. For some reason my iPad is unco-operative at the moment so I’m using my iPhone to type this. Unlike the DC and DGC my screen in small and it’s an effort to read and write much on it. So until I can find the problem and sort it I’ll just send best wishes to all of you and hope to resume postings about my doings soon. How I hate being dependent on these technology things and not having a clue how they work.

Morning from sun and cloud in S Hants although I heard rain earlier.
Good news from both corner and SueD, hoping it continues.
Cruise sounds great BlueSapphire enjoy tonight.
We had a lovely meet up with the children and grands on Thursday, daughter has booked a holiday in about ten days time.
Newspaper day, a walk and check for more courgettes/cucumbers, tomatoes are slowly turning.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning from a bright Oxfordshire.
I have to wait in for a collection today, so another pottering day, if it’s fine I’ll do a spot of weeding.
Yesterday I cleaned all of the hanging lampshades, although we rarely bother to put on the ‘big’ lights, thye look cleaner though.
I have fond memories of the steam train from Paignton, when the GCs were little we used to stay there for a week every year, the train was the highlight of our week.
Hope all who are on holiday have a wonderful time.
Thoughts are with those who are ill or stressed.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I'm another who didn't sleep well last night, if at all.
I may be going down with something....

I've walked round the garden picking flowers for the community café tables
Gaelic café this afternoon too. My shoes are soaking but waterproof. I've just bought another pair on line.

I hope the Corners are recovering.
I knew you had overdone it Marydoll I hope you have some rest today.

I traipsed round IKEA yesterday and it was just as annoying as it always is. You walk for miles and can't find what you are looking for.
Glad you are enjoying your cruise Bluesapphire.
Lovely photos Baubles and Gingster
Glad that shoe turned up Ash

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Hairdresser due in half an hour for a much needed tidy up but nothing else planned. Might tackle the second cupboard of shame in the kitchen do that I can feel I have achieved something, but then there are always books to read and the weeds of deal with ………. Such thrills!

Thinking so much of the Corners and all our posters with anxieties.

Charleygirl5 Sat 29-Jul-23 08:38:43

Mr C was doing so well that he was moved to HDU a day early. Still obviously very sore especially his throat so ice cream was on the menu yesterday.

cornergran and both sons visited him yesterday.

I hope he does not try to run before he can walk.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 29-Jul-23 08:55:01

Morning all

Thank you for the update Charleygirl5

Food shopping first thing, then DD is taking me out to lunch (my birthday gift) I think
fizz might be drunk 🥂🥂

I have very vivid dreams nightly, I dread to think what a dream analyst would make of them 😵‍💫😵‍💫

Wishing you all a super Saturday 🙋‍♀️🦩

harrigran Sat 29-Jul-23 08:59:22

Good morning from a dry NE.
Yesterday signs appeared on lamp posts informing us that resurfacing would take place today and tomorrow. No vehicle access for the duration and to move your car off the road. I have had to tell my sister that she will not be able to visit as planned. My BIL can only walk a few steps with crutches and his cumbersome leg brace.
My furniture was delivered at the promised time but the awaited phone call from the bank did not happen.

Family were supposed to be on holiday but they have deferred by a day or two as GD wants to spend today with her boyfriend who has a birthday today.
Ha e a good weekend.

Wyllow3 Sat 29-Jul-23 09:12:13

Good Morning from S Yorks where its overcast.

Glad to hear of return to a routine, Mick, and Cornergran news.

its early for heather Gingster but everything seems to be coming out early this year.

Not a lot planned, very tired.

Bests for poorlies and may outings and family be enjoyed.

Jacs7 Sat 29-Jul-23 09:29:25

Good morning everyone from north Kent where it is overcast but dry.

The theatre visit last night was …unusual! After the interval it was announced that the leading lady had collapsed, but was at home after medical attention. One of the co producers read the part in the second half and did very well. One of the male actors kept forgetting his lines which led to many awkward pauses and much shuffling of feet until the prompt came to his rescue or the other actors in desperation add-libbed.

Nothing much planned for today. I had a shingles vaccination yesterday which has given me a dull headache and sore arm; hopefully it will wear off during the day. Trying to decide whether it gives me sufficient reason not to do the housework I was planning on doing this morning. Will have a coffee first before I make such a decision. It doesn’t take much to steer me away from domestic tasks!

Have a good day

Good morning Mick and all from a breezy Sunnyside northwest coast. I’m off to meet old friend and pianist for trip to a country house today, including lunch. It’s a wealthy merchant’s house full of paintings and good furniture I last saw in the 70s.
As there are rail strikes, I’m having to take a taxi from the station the other end as the closest line is striking…

Good wishes to Mr.C for continued improvement and thoughts to all with worries 🌸

Taichinan Sat 29-Jul-23 10:07:07

Good morning all. Intermittent sunshine and showers forecast for the Angus coast and it feels very cool.
I had a horrid night of little sleep last night - for no obvious reason. I didn't even bother going upstairs until 2am as I felt so wide awake - retribution for a few good nights I suppose. Anyway I just feel like coorying down, so that's what I shall do! I'm making good old mince and tatties - comfort food - but otherwise I shall potter and achieve nothing.
Sorry, this is a very boring contribution to the thread from me today! So glad to hear that Mr C is making progress and that all seems good with everyone, although I haven't read through properly yet. Have a lovely day today doing whatever makes you happiest 🌞

Foxygloves Sat 29-Jul-23 10:22:23

A late Good morning from Foxyland where as Ginny says, it is bright and breezy.
Rudely awakened (well, disturbed during my morning cuppa) by yet another unexpected BT engineer who was unaware that one came yesterday but could not complete the work because a trench will need to be dug up the shared drive, then my drive, then either my front lawn or the border along the garage then under a couple of slabs etc etc. I'm leaving it to BT to sort out as long as I and my neighbours get enough notice to move our cars on to the road.
Poor man it can't have been an edifying sight as I did my Juliet act out of the bedroom window.
Shopping coming later will be the highlight if my day - hope all of yours is better!

Grandmabatty Sat 29-Jul-23 10:25:01

Taichinan there is nothing boring about mince and tatties!

Greyduster Sat 29-Jul-23 10:38:01

I been to look at our heather moors properly yet, but last time I drove over to DD’s you could see the beginning of a haze of colour. It’s a glory when it’s out. The man in the hat was with me!

Greyduster Sat 29-Jul-23 10:38:20

Haven’t been!!

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire. Enjoy your trip out Mick.

More housework today and a short walk to wave at the steam train and look at boats.

Good to hear that MrCornergran is doing well, I hope there’s more good news today.

Mince and tatties Taichinan, lovely! Stovies may be on the menu here tonight.

Thinking of Kalu, Urms, Baggs and all who are dealing with illness right now.

Have a good day all 🌻
