I had Fish & Chips yesterday from the local chippie ,and no change in my weight .

Good morning from a bright Oxfordshire.
I have to wait in for a collection today, so another pottering day, if it’s fine I’ll do a spot of weeding.
Yesterday I cleaned all of the hanging lampshades, although we rarely bother to put on the ‘big’ lights, thye look cleaner though.
I have fond memories of the steam train from Paignton, when the GCs were little we used to stay there for a week every year, the train was the highlight of our week.
Hope all who are on holiday have a wonderful time.
Thoughts are with those who are ill or stressed.

Morning from sun and cloud in S Hants although I heard rain earlier.
Good news from both corner and SueD, hoping it continues.
Cruise sounds great BlueSapphire enjoy tonight.
We had a lovely meet up with the children and grands on Thursday, daughter has booked a holiday in about ten days time.
Newspaper day, a walk and check for more courgettes/cucumbers, tomatoes are slowly turning.
Enjoy your day.

A quick good morning from a grey damp Suffolk. For some reason my iPad is unco-operative at the moment so I’m using my iPhone to type this. Unlike the DC and DGC my screen in small and it’s an effort to read and write much on it. So until I can find the problem and sort it I’ll just send best wishes to all of you and hope to resume postings about my doings soon. How I hate being dependent on these technology things and not having a clue how they work.

Good morning from a breezy and dull N.Bucks,.
A local food shop this morning and a coffee stop.
DH is going to clean the patio and I have a cake to make and a couple of cupboards to clear and tidy. Hopefully some watercolour painting later.

Kind and / or healing thoughts to all who need them and a good day for everyone .

Thanks Marydoll, at least it's only marathon-length knitting I'm dreaming of and not attempted murder.

Good morning everyone from a bright and dry Inverness with a bit of blue sky peeping through.
That champagne breakfast sounds good BlueSapphire and enjoy the formal night tonight
I had a lovely day yesterday, the gym and catch up with my friend in the morning and seeing DGD in the afternoon. Over this weekend I’ve got to finish sorting out the bedrooms for DD1 and DGSs who are coming to stay next week and get my online grocery shopping order in. It’ll be a busy week ahead but I’m really looking forward to it.
So pleased you had a lovely relaxing holiday baubles that view over the water is stunning and I’d like to visit those gardens sometime, thanks for the recommendation
Hope you’re feeling better soon kitty
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all from bright Harrogate. What a time I’ve had trying to sort this post and problems with a TV which yesterday I discovered too late, was just not smart enough. Which I’d often joked. We had a Virgin Media technician round and he was as frustrated as I get trying to get it onto the internet. I have now been advised to use it with a fire stick!! It’s pretty ironic since my first email address I could only get on the TV over 20 years ago!!
Anyway I’m finally on track with my iPhone by downloading google chrome, think Safari had me out on a dessert island!!
I’ve tried keeping up with you, I could get page 1 then it would all go haywire. Good to hear Mick is getting back to normal. It remains to be seen if I am back to normal
Today will probably be a quiet day still recovering from entertaining DGS for the day on Thursday. We took him on the bus to Otley - there is a super children’s playground by the river which he loved, but the bus journey there we had given up our seat to an older bloke who had mobility equipment. Dgs kept shouting at him ‘that’s my seat’. He had everyone on the bus in stitches with his antics. In fact, on the bus back a couple told him they were not on his seat (they’d been behind us).
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning from Durham. Bright and breezy. Hoping for a more relaxed day today - coffee with a friend, finish DD2’s laundry and a dog walk to round it off - although that could all change if DD2 needs some help. DD1 is at Ladies Day, so I hope she looks after my best hat!
Good news last night from SueD especially without the long wait. I remember DH’s Consultant ringing him at home late one night to pass on results.
Best wishes to all. X

Heather just coming into bloom

Good morning from another grey day in W Kent. DD1 and family were unable to get o London yesterday due to train problems so we spent a lot of the day talking which was good. DD2’s Covid has improved and we are hoping she might be able to see her sister before she returns home next week
Best wishes to all

Good morning all and it’s rained in the night but fine now, here on the Suffolk coast.
Yesterday was warm but overcast much of the day but no rain.

We walked among the Heather on Westleton Heath . It’s coming into flower in patches so in another few weeks it will be gloriously purple.

Had our delicious fish and chips at Dunwich - lots of people and lots of wasps Liberty . Take care on Monday.

Both my lovely brothers phoned yesterday and invited themselves up for a couple of days next week. It will be sister in laws 80th soon and she wants to treat us to a special lunch. How kind.

DS1 phoned last night - they are off on holiday on Tuesday so we won’t see them before they go. Lanzarote I think. 🤔. The teenage girls can’t wait and are doing lots of clothes shopping.

We’ll walk little dog in the forest this morning and Dh is going to the local towns football match. First of the season and he’s very excited. He loves his footie. Always comes home saying ‘terrible game’ 🤣🤣.

Best wishes to mr cornergran. 🙏
Love to all 🌸

Mizuna, I hope you get the meds sorted. Its a horrible experience.
I had night terrors twice last week, where I was screaming in my sleep, believing Mr MD was trying to kill me! He suggested it may not have been a dream. 😂
It is a documented side effect of my biologics, so hopefully things will settle down, because mine can't be stopped.

Good morning from a very wet Siberia!
Today is quiet for me. A friend is coming round for tea and we are going to sort out my flights to Europe in August. I will need to tie up 4 flights with different airlines..... so it is not an easy 5 minute task to get plane tickets(
Have a good day everyone!

kittylester Sat 29-Jul-23 07:49:02

Good morning all from a sunny North Leicestershire.

First job this morning is to drive to the other side of Leicester to a walking in centre in the hope of getting antibiotics for what I'm sure is a uti. 111 works.

Thinking of everyone with worries and wishing everyone the best day possible.

Marydoll Sat 29-Jul-23 07:48:47

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow.

I have lost my novella and cannot summon up the energy nor enthusiasm to rewrite.
This weeks busyness has taken its toll, along with this exhausting and embarrassing cough, but it has been a good week despite that!

We had an unexpected visit from Babydoll, yesterday. Oh joy! She had been to see the Kelpies and Falkirk Wheek and had cried for an hour on the way home.
We advised DS2 that it was karma, for all those long car journeys, when he cried non stop. 😉

Hoping to hear news of Mr C.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning from a brightening but humid Colchester. It felt very sweaty here on the East coast when we got home from the West coast last night.
Today is mostly laundry and shopping as we have the 2 x dgs back tomorrow night for the week.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from a bright and sunny day on board ship, somewhere east of the Yorkshire coast. Have settled in well in iny lovely cabin, and already enjoying the wonderful hospitality. The sea is like a millpond.
Plans for today are for a champagne breakfast, then a walk around deck; next is curry lunch, and this afternoon I have a pedicure and manicure booked.
Formal night tonight, so will have to get my glad rags on!
Wishing all a good Saturday.

Mizuna Sat 29-Jul-23 07:37:57

Good morning from a blue-skied Cornwall. Went to a fabulous pre-Rapaelite exhibition in a local town yesterday; one painting hasn't been seen out of Eton College in 100 years. Another was on loan from Ontario. The huge canvasses were very moving.

Today one of my former 'students' has her newest artworks in a craft show so I'll be taking a bus to see it and hope to buy a birthday present for my best mate.

My medication-driven dreams are crazy; last night I worked very hard at knitting an armadillo and was tired when I woke up. grin A pharmacist is reviewing my drugs on Friday, can't wait!

Good morning from bright and sunny Argyll.

We are quite sad to be leaving today after a fabulous week with DD & family, it has been a lovely, relaxing, happy time.

The photo is the view over to Jura from the local hotel where we’ve stayed a few times and had lunch yesterday. The hydrangea is one of the gorgeous specimens in the adjacent Arduainne Garden which is looked after by the National Trust, well worth a visit if ever you find yourself up this way.

We will meander home, stopping a couple of times along the way for yet more food, although I’ve consumed enough this past week to keep me going for a month.

Have the best possible day everyone.

Good morning all from the Black country blue skies at the moment but rain predicted for later.

Enjoy your Saturday whatever your plans and may you all find ☀️.

Good morning from a dull & gloomy Sefton though a sunny day is forecast. Here's hoping as we, have a day out planned with DS2 & his little family at a local NT property. It'll be lovely to spend time with them whatever the weather.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 29-Jul-23 07:11:25

Good morning from a damp South Downs, although it is forecast fine and sunny after an hour or two.

Today I’m off to see daughter singing, I’d muddled it snd thought it was last Sunday, then thought it was tomorrow. I really need to get a grip! We are meeting up back at her house for a cup of tea and to discuss DS upcoming 50 th, which we are holding at his house at it lends itself so well to big parties. We’ve had some wonderful parties there, and everyone votes to use it for the next party! We are liaising with DIL over numbers food etc. GSs girlfriend is making a cake shaped like a cow - long story.

Did some more cutting back of early summer stuff yesterday, might get 5 minutes to do the same today, -it tidies things up.

Fish day today - so fish mappas. I would really like to lose a bit of fat around my middle and maybe reduce my liver size? to make life easier for the surgeon, but that area is so difficult I always find to lose weight from. I’ll have to give it some thought.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning, sunshine here in my south Cotswolds village at the moment.
Yesterday I finished planting up the revised border, it looks much better , and then did several hours of watercolours, very relaxing.
Today I’m trying out Brusho, something very different but fun!
Have a lovely weekend everyone 🌹

Good morning from a sunny Torbay.

Early yesterday morning, we made a quick trip to the theatre car park to retrieve a shoe lost by a cast member on Thursday evening at the end of the rehearsal. Poor man has diabetic neuropathy and didn’t notice the loss until he got out of the car in which he’d had a lift to Brixham. As we have a shoe bank on the car par park, I was concerned it could have ended up there! Since the theatre was due to be used for an art exhibition I was pleased to find the shoe.

Afterwards, we went by bus to Paignton to board the steam train to Kingswear/Dartmouth. The intermittent showers did not dampen our enjoyment of this nostalgic ride and stroll around Dartmouth.

Later, we found our regular pub very busy, partly due to pre show drinkers due to attend a Bob Marley tribute act at Babbacombe Theatre. I enjoyed a chat with a friendly young man with dreadlocks as we queued. Afterwards, we indulged in my (first ever) kebab on which I’m still reserving judgment!

Enjoy whatever the weekend brings! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
