Sounds like a lovely day with your two DGSs grandmabatty, it’s been warm and sunny here too all day. I hope your mum got some of the birthday cake that your DD had made, it looks so delicious no wonder it disappeared
Good luck in the quiz tonight Jax🤞

Soop's warm and welcoming kitchen for kindly folk...
(1001 Posts)Greetings to all our marvellous Kitcheners.
Here we are again
Caring as can be
All good pals and
Jolly good company.
Buffet is ready and Champagne is nicely chilled.
THANK YOU for the comfort you have brought into my life. You are all extra special people.

Good evening Kitcheners. I'm sorry to hear about poor weather elsewhere. Here in central Scotland it is warm, dry and sunny. We've had a lovely day. The boys have been on good form and have actually played well together. We were at the park this morning, fed the cygnets, had an ice cream and generally ran about. Dgs2 had a two and a half hour nap this afternoon so dgs1 had quiet time and played with cars and watched Super Mario, his latest thing. Tonight I visited mum. It's very sad to see someone who was sharp as a tack, forget even her birthday. However she was happy with her presents. Dd passed me on the road as I was going home. She had baked mum a cake and took it yesterday, however there was no sign of it today. I'll add a photo. Mum did have a special cake from the hospital with her dinner tonight, just not dd's. I have new potatoes in the pot and I'm ready for my chicken and veg dinner. Have a good evening Kitcheners
A very wet Good Afternoon from me today.
It has been miserable so another day in.
I haven't practiced on my scooter since Friday.
My friend finally got in touch and worried
.me slightly.
She repeated Tuesday's conversation, Friday's text message as if it was the first telling.
Also saying the visit to the GP was Friday when it was last Monday.
Her family are not ones I could or would mention this to, I shall just see what happens.
What a lovely day you had soop
A delicious meal, a few drams and enjoying it all with good friends.
It is now lashing down with rain but so far no sign of the promised thunderstorms.
I hope you have an enjoyable evening.
It's rained most of day here in West Yorkshire, Soop sounds like you had a lovely day ,I can't keep up with you all hope Granmarie enjoying her trip. Blossoming glad to hear you are feeling better .Brooke hope you enjoyed your day despite classes being cancelled .Nannytopsy don't try to keep up its a lost cause.Better make a start on tea.
Ho alo from a soggy Hampshire, showers all day, but I was on the voluntary phone so it didn’t really matter, I did nip out and picked another three tomatoes. Quiz tonight.
Sounds a lovely Sunday soop I’ve never sold on EBay, so not suffered the angst.
I’m putting off changing the printer cartridges Blossoming that’s bad enough!
Wishing those with challenging times a gentle evening.
What a lovely day soop!
I have had a couple of hours in the garden trying not to show myself up as slow. I was trying to keep up with a friend’s grandson, who came for a couple of hours work. He was brilliant, the garden looks masses better and I am bushed! I have napped since he went 🤣. And now it’s raining. ☔️
Sounds like you had a truly gorgeous Sunday soop what a lovely way to spend the day. Sorry to hear todays more challenging, Ebay can be struggle I know but I hope you’ve got it sorted now
I’m having a lazy day here today, my good intentions to go to the gym were scuppered when both my classes were cancelled due to the instructor being poorly. So I went out for a coffee with my pal instead and then a trip to Aldi. I should really be doing some gardening this afternoon but I’d put some white jeans on this morning and I couldn’t be bothered getting changed 🤣
Good that you’ve got the shredder sorted Blossoming 👍
Crossed posts Soop, your Sunday sounds lovely, today sounds frustrating!
Good afternoon all, I felt much refreshed this morning after a lazy Sunday and a good night’s sleep. The shredder gave up the ghost last week, it was getting old so I know how it felt
. I ordered a new one from Rymans which arrived at lunchtime. MrB took the old one to the tip and I decided to set up the new one while he was out. After battling my way through an enormous box, an inner enormous box, a huge plastic bag and various egg box type padding I finally got it out, wheeled into position and plugged in. I tested it, working beautifully, unlike my spine and shoulder! I am forever biting off more than I can chew and MrB has told me off for not waiting until he got back. But it’s done and I can rest now. Hope you are all having a good day x
Today, thus far, has presented more than enough frustrations to deal with. I won't bore you with the details. One task was to reimburse a person via eBay. Mr Soop and I spent over an hour following instructions, losing our way, starting afresh and using very colourful expletives in order to relieve the stress.
Tomorrow will hopefully be less harrowing.
Yesterday's belated birthday treat was wonderful in every way. Sunday roast and crumble and custard at a lovely hotel. After which, we relaxed in an amazing bar, festooned with 700 malts. An Irishman played non-stop ballads on his guitar. He added Gentle Annie to his repertoire (at our friend's request). She also elected to remain alcohol-free, meaning her husband and we two could sample some exotic wee drams. She drove us home late afternoon. I slipped into my pj's and supped an entire pot of tea. It was grand.
Thank you, Brook, we're really looking forward to it.
Bedtime now, NNGB.
That sounds like a lovely day grannmarie, I hope you have good weather, enjoy your trip! ⛴️
Thank you, Jaxjacky.
Thank you, Blossoming. I'm glad you enjoyed a nice, restful Sunday, it's good to recharge your batteries.
Enjoy your trip Grannmarie Largs brings back memories.
Hope you’re feeling better Blossoming.
Good evening dear Kitcheners. We’ve had a very lazy Sunday here, it’s been really warm and muggy so didn’t feel particularly energetic!
Enjoy the cruise tomorrow Grannmarie it sounds lovely.
Hello 👋 Grandmabatty and Brook, the Waverley sails from Glasgow at 10 am, we board at Largs at 12.30, cruise all around Arran and return to Largs at 8pm, so it's a big day out for us.
Yes grandmabatty you’re right, my DS stays in Basel, Switzerland. He’s a teacher over there and has just started back at school after the summer hols. So kind of you that your remembered
That’s a really blue sky Jax good to hear the holidaymakers are all having a great time 😎
Ooh grannmarie have a lovely time on The Waverley tomorrow, where do you sail to and from?
Grannmarie Party at the Palace is only four miles away from me! If the wind is in the right direction, I can hear it. Enjoy your sail tomorrow.
Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people! I've had a very busy weekend, just catching up now.
Nannytopsy, beautiful wreath, I love the sea holly especially.
Good luck with your packing up/ chucking out, YiaYia. Great photo, perfect gift for a teenage boy.
Super photo, Jaxjacky, I'm glad your *D and family are enjoying their holiday.
DS1 and family are at Party in the Palace at Linlithgow this weekend, they're having a ball!
I hope Soop and all the hay fever sufferers have some respite, and I did laugh out loud at Soop's big sneeze consequences. 🤣
Our Bookgroup ladies enjoyed a lovely meal in a country hotel on Friday evening, thanks Brook. I like to try something that I haven't had before so I chose seafood crepe for my main course. It was delicious, a perfect crepe containing haddock, salmon and prawns in a light sauce, I wasn't disappointed!
Grandmabatty, I really enjoyed Demon Copperhead and would have recommended it as a Bookgroup choice but we have a pretty strict 500 pages/£5 max. rule. There is a drama called Painkillers, on Netflix I think, about the drug situation referred to in the book.
On Saturday, DH and I met up with the Wee Boy and his Mummy and Daddy at our nearby country park. We had a visit to the rainforest centre there which included a 'handling session' with cockroaches, a tortoise and a snake! 🐍 Followed by a visit to the funfair, great fun! DH had his mobility scooter and I managed the walking although I was exhausted when we got home.
Today I went to morning Mass then visited my housebound ladies. Roast chicken dinner now and organising for our sail on the Waverley tomorrow, we're really looking forward to it.
TOYA, take care
Ann the 11 puppies will be on their way soon. I still think 5 dogs are too many!
Roast chicken here too with French beans and courgettes from the garden. There’s nearly an hour to go and I’m starving!
I found three cats enough for four days nannytopsy!
A ‘not much going on’ day, pottering really, wiped out the fridge, door shelves given a good wash. No meat draw in the local as the meat didn’t turn up!
MrJ got knocked out of his bowls tournament, he’s not bothered as he much prefers the indoor game.
My daughter sent some more holiday pictures, they’re all having a great time, the sky is so blue.
Gammon for dinner, smells are wafting from the slow cooker.
Enjoy your evening everyone.
Evening Kitcheners. I had an unexpected visit from dd and dgs1 this afternoon. She had been to see her grandma in hospital and dgs1 wanted to go along. She had made her a lovely birthday cake. I nipped out to buy mum a birthday gift earlier then tidied up again. I still have the ironing to do. Brook I think your D's stays in Switzerland, doesn't he? Dinner will be roast chicken, mash, cauliflower cheese, ratatouille and broccoli in a while. The rain has started here now. Enjoy your evening all.
Good afternoon kitchen pals, it’s another lovely sunny afternoon here in Inverness and I’ve been having a lazy day pottering in the garden. I’m just in for a cup of tea, a shower and then I’ll think about making something to eat later. I had a lovely catch up call with DS earlier, he’s so good, out of all my 3 children he’s the furthest away but always makes the most effort to keep in touch. We’re due to visit him and his partner at the end of September so I’m really looking forward to that. I’ve listed a few things on eBay too so hoping to get rid of a few summer clothes that I’ve not worn
Hoping your GD and her half sister got along ok yesterday ann, good on them for trying to keep the relationship going
Hoping alls going well with the dogs nannytopsy ! 🐶 🐶🐶
