Good Morning Everyone,
Its a blue sky start to the day here in brackley this morning.
Today , I plan to get the bus to Bicester , do my usual routine and also go to the cinema and watch Oppenheimer, which what I have read is a 3 hour plus long film .
Take Care,
Mick

Oh dear Baubles I hope your sickness bout doesn't last long.

I am feeling a wee bit better, thanks Taichinan but had to reluctantly cancel a dentist appointment.

How exciting your cruise sounds Stilllearning .

Late to the party this morning.

Have now had two dreadful nights in a row, not much sleep and when I did doze really horrid dreams.

Have now got the beginning of a migraine have taken meds and hope they kick in before The Imp arrives for the day 😱

Will read the thread and catch up on your news now

Have a good one folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Marydoll Tue 01-Aug-23 09:39:05

Baubles, I hope you feel betettr soon. Not a good position to be in. 💐

baubles Tue 01-Aug-23 09:36:33

Good morning all from damp South Lanarkshire.

I’m ill and really wabbit today. I succumbed to the vomiting bug last night and was up every hour. I dehydrate very easily in normal times because of my ileostomy and this morning I felt dreadful. DH, bless him, was down at Boots waiting for them to open to get me some Dioralite sachets. I must remember to keep a stock of them.

Have the best day possible everyone.

A late good morning from Durham. Blue sky and fluffy clouds here, after hours of heavy rain yesterday. Like many others, today is going to be a bit of an easy day.
After 3 days of helping with child care, I’m ready for a rest.
Little Dog still here, so will factor in a walk later. Need some birthday cards, but that’s about it.
Thinking of our poorlies and those in recovery.
Best wishes to all. X

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 01-Aug-23 09:19:06

Large fluffy white rabbits. Morning all from a beautifully sunny West Oxfordshire. I went to the loo about 5 am, went back to sleep and didn’t wake up until after 8! I’m meeting a friend for coffee later. She wants a catch up before I head off for Australia. I will make two batches of ice cream today. One lot of caramel and another of lemon.
Have a good day. I’m thinking of the Urms and the Corners especially. I remember day three of my knee replacement. I felt so tired I couldn’t get out of bed all day!

EkwaNimitee Tue 01-Aug-23 09:12:39

Good morning Mick and everyone from brightish but cloudy Carlisle. I'm hoping for a dry spell so I can get out in the garden even if it's only for a bit of deadheading, I doubt the lawn will dry out enough for a mow.

Everything is now put away or washed after my little holiday, I'm glad it wasn't arranged for this week. Today I will catch up with some housework, before various appointments in the coming days. Tesco's have just been so I'm now re-stocked for a fortnight.

Best wishes to all of you and your loved ones with ill health, and I hope MrCorner is home soon and recovering well.

Wyllow3 Tue 01-Aug-23 08:50:05

poddling not paddling! Its not a that wet yet.

Wyllow3 Tue 01-Aug-23 08:48:37

Morning from S Yorks where its very dreary again, some sun would be nice but not today.

Managed to get a GP call back re troubling tum stuff and I stayed up late last night so today is a paddling around at home day waiting for call back.

Bests for poorlies and those caring: hoping days out go according to plan and are enjoyed.

Jaxjacky Tue 01-Aug-23 08:44:31

Morning from cloud/sun in S Hants, tomorrow’s forecast looks dreadful. Yesterday’s voluntary phone was quiet, quiz was fun, but missing a couple of teams.
I’ve been out already for milk and dug a new hydrangea in the back garden, an early energy spurt.
Glad you’re out and about Mick, take care of yourself corner easy to forget.
I hope Blossoming is feeling better today.

Morning from S Lanarkshire, grey as usual just now.

All the cruise chat is specially interesting to me just now. as I’m off on Thursday to the Norwegian fjords with two DDS and one DGD. I’m looking forward to it very much, not only because it will be very interesting but especially because it will be so nice to have lovely time with my girls. They all have such busy lives and this time together will be good for them too. I suspect DGD will be the only child (13) on board but she is an only child and well used to adult company. She will have ‘fun auntie’ for company and I think it will be great for both of them.
We leave from Rosyth and I’m looking forward to sailing under the Forth Bridges, I’ll think of you Marydoll!

Off to mass now, everyone who need support will be with me.

ginny Tue 01-Aug-23 08:35:15

Good morning from a sunny N. Bucks. It’s not fooling me though. Dull and showers later.
Hopefully DH will get the grass cut as tomorrow is the WI Garden Party. I have contingency plans for all weathers.
Yesterday seemed to be a day of messages about outings, holidays and visits. A busy few weeks ahead.
My brother and SIL were to be visiting today but at long last my nephew has got a long awaited medical appointment so we have had to rearrange.
Have a good day everyone.

Ziplok Tue 01-Aug-23 08:27:53

Good morning all.

So many posts already - I’ll come back to read them shortly.
Glad you’re feeling better in yourself, mick. Enjoy the film this afternoon.

August already, the year is flying by. I hope we have a bit more in the way of sunshine this month, July was very wet here for the most part. A grey start, though, and breezy - more like an autumn day.

Some jobs to do in the garden today if it stays dry for long enough.

Have a good day.

Taichinan Tue 01-Aug-23 08:27:28

Good (chilly) morning to Mick and all. After heavy rain all yesterday we have progressed to a 'stiff breeze' and showers today on the Angus coast. It's going to be a long winter!
Gender and (probable) name reveal yesterday for my future great grandson. Thrilled that late DH's grandmother's maiden name is being carried on as a middle name in a fifth generation - eldest son to eldest son!
Today, tai chi and a visit to the fish shop.
Glad your family arrived safely Brook - have a lovely time. Working from 'home' gives so much freedom, doesn't it. I suggested that for myself when I first moved here over 25 years ago but the idea was met with incredulity! I retired early instead.
I hope there's still time to rehearse those costume changes Ash
Sorry you're feeling under the weather grammaretto - get well soon flowers
Enjoy your outing in Iceland Bluesapphire - it all sounds amazing.
Have a good day everyone, and best wishes for Mr C's continuing recovery x

Btw since I started writing this the sun has won its battle with the clouds and blue sky prevails!

harrigran Tue 01-Aug-23 08:27:02

Good morning from a dry but overcast NE.
Quiet day yesterday, just did some general tidying up and filing paperwork.
Did something to my back while cleaning the kitchen surfaces and now I am struggling to walk, sit and lie down.
Hairdresser coming at 10am, my hair seems to have grown a lot this last month.
Gosh, August already.
Have a good day.

hollysteers Tue 01-Aug-23 08:17:05

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast.
Long day yesterday on coach trip to the Cotswolds and indifferent weather. The sun makes such a difference. I’m not sure such long day trip so far is a good idea as I’m pretty tired today and due to sing and help at music club today. One good thing about it was that it got me into bed at 10 the night before, unusual for me.
Hope you enjoy the film Mick, long as it is and thoughts as always to all with worries 💐

Marydoll Tue 01-Aug-23 08:13:53

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, its 13°C with showers predicted.

You seem to have settled back into your former regime Mick.
Its good to hear MrC is making good progress. I used to dread the physio visits, whenever I've been in hospital, it always involved some pain and discomfort.
I remember once, after major surgery, questioning why everyone in the ward was receiving physio, apart from me. Mrs MD, the superintendent physio is coming to see you, (I felt quite special, 😉), You taught me and I'm not allowed to treat you.
I knew her and her family well, but never recognised her, due to the fact that she had died her beautiful, long wavy red hair, jet black! 😱

I telephoned the GP surgery to try and find out who had referred me to the heart failure clinic for an echocardiogram. No-one has any idea, who it was. It certainly wasn't my GP. I hope this means my long awaited cardiology appointment is in the offing, I'm struggling. 😔

I had yet another mishap yesterday at church. I was helping the lady doing the flowers, picked up a vase, not realising how heavy it was, ( both shoulders were aching) tried to negotiate the altar steps, and ended up stumbling. It was like something out of a comedy sketch, as I wobbled like a penguin on ice, trying not to fall. I looked up to see the congregation looking on in horror!
After much ruminating, I have realised, I am now a hindrance and liability! 😉 Time to take a step back.

Today we have Dollie, her mum is working. We are supposed to be going to the National Maritime Museum in Irvine, then lunch in a little Bistro we like, at the harbourside.
Apparently she is on a shoogly peg, having become quite naughty and stroppy, behaving like a teenager, not a seven year old!! (Not my *Dollie!😱)
Her father was not amused, when I said she reminded me of someone at the same age.

Wishing you all the best of days. Susan, I too have a dentist fear, but each time I visit, there seems to be new innovations and less painful procedures. My lengthy visit last week was pain free, I hope your visit is not as bad as you fear.

I wish you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans, As always, the poorlies are in my thoughts and prayers. A special mention for Auntieflo for today.💐

GrannySomerset Tue 01-Aug-23 08:11:08

Supermarket shop and I must try not to completely refill the cupboard I emptied yesterday. Pasta with a 2019 death date shocked even me! No other plans but the windows need doing inside …..

Glad to hear Mick sounding so positive and Cornergran too, though hope she isn’t too exhausted by the next few days. My sympathy to all those entertaining GC in this uncertain weather when outdoors is too wet and indoors to confining.

Liberty Tue 01-Aug-23 08:01:32

Good morning from a sunny and hopefully warm day in Suffolk.

Yesterday was much better than forecast and our visit to Dunwich was dry, warm and delightful. I think the poor forecast had put people off visiting and the huge car park there was less busy than I think we’ve ever seen it.

Today I’m having lunch at a friends with 2 other close ones. She has a beautiful willow tree at the edge of her pond which has died because of the drought last year. Sadly in spite of getting advice from 2 tree surgeons there is nothing that can be done to save it and it has to be cut down. She needs company whilst this is happening so,hopefully, chat will help.

Thinking of those with different concerns who need love and compassion around them.

Gala Tue 01-Aug-23 07:57:22

Good morning all. Cloudy but dry here in Sefton. It's very breezy, no rain forecast, could be a good (3 peg) drying day.
Zoom exercise class first thing, then possibly the library. No other plans for the day though I do have some admin to sort. Exciting times!

NanKate Tue 01-Aug-23 07:57:17

Good morning Mick and All from a bright South Bucks.

Today is the WI Summer Show. I don’t make cakes or jam and I don’t do crafts, so my contribution is a poem about the Coronation. It’s always a fun afternoon and we sit outside the Cricket Pavilion at the end eating delicious cake and slurping tea.

monk08 Tue 01-Aug-23 07:56:54

Good morning all from the Black country sunny when I opened the curtains but now looks like it's about to pour down, typical I put a wash on.
DH will need hearing aids they are referring him back to gp who will make appointment for NHS hearing aids.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

NannyJan53 Tue 01-Aug-23 07:53:03

Good morning from a brighter Black Country, where there was heavy rain yesterday.

Meeting up with my friend this morning, for a walk in the local country park. Then lunch in the cafe there.

Love the sound of your cruise BlueSapphire I have always fancied visiting Iceland. Must try to convince MrJ he prefers sunnier climes! A cruise sounds a good way to visit.

Wishing you all the best day possible

Gingster Tue 01-Aug-23 07:29:40

Good morning all and it’s bright, sunny and breezy here on the Suffolk Coast. No rain forecast today 🤞.

Yesterday we shopped and pottered. Dh tinkered with his old MG. (Same age as me). He’s thinking of selling it as he doesn’t really go out in it very often. It will just deteriorate left in the garage. .

My two brothers and one sister in law are coming today. Out for lunch, then a walk along the beach. They are good company ,
Bluesapphire you bring back all my memories of cruising. Always something to do (if you want to), and the wonderful places you are transported to. We did the World Cruise a few years ago and loved every minute of that 4 months on board. .

Ash you know what they say ‘bad rehearsal, good show’ 🤞.

Grandmabatty I hope your little tornadoes are calmer today.

Love and best wishes to poorlies and worried . Find a little peace today 🕊️.

luluaugust Tue 01-Aug-23 07:19:56

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Our two GSs are off back to Scotland today, we shall miss them a lot they are great fun to be with. One starts bar work during the Edinburgh Fringe the other has a newish girlfriend awaiting his return.
A visit to the hairdresser later is much needed.
All the best
