Good Morning Everyone,
Its a blue sky start to the day here in brackley this morning.
Today , I plan to get the bus to Bicester , do my usual routine and also go to the cinema and watch Oppenheimer, which what I have read is a 3 hour plus long film .
Take Care,
Mick

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 01-Aug-23 05:48:56

Good morning Mick it’s good to hear that you are getting back to your normal routine, I was invited to watch Oppenheimer but I can’t sit for 3 hours in a cinema, so I’ll wait for it to appear on TV.
Not sure what the weather is like yet, but woke up at 4 am, I’ll get up soon and have a coffee,
I’ll give the car a clean today, it’s under cover so it won’t matter about the weather.
Have a good day everyone
Pinch and a punch…..

White rabbits 🐇🐇🐇 (right this time!)
Good morning from Bristol. We are promised clearish weather today.
My neighbour collected a friend before we went o Tesco yesterday. She went all round north Bristol as “there were temporary lights” on the direct route…. Then, they have coffee, and finally we shopped. I really filled my cupboards. I also bought a side of salmon that I cut into portions and froze; a much cheaper option.
In the afternoon, DS called me, giving me the details of his trek in Kashmir. He loved it. Term starts on Monday for him.
As is now my wont, I made a Horlicks of my patchwork squares…
Today, chiropodist calling, tai chi with the 25 minute walk each way, more messing around, sewing. Laundry.
Hugs and prayers to all in need. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a cloudy and drizzly Torbay.

Yesterday we walked to one of our branch surgeries as I needed a repeat blood test and we were only rained on twice! It was about two miles in total.

In the evening, DH watched a rehearsal of Dad’s Army but was largely unimpressed. The men have several costume changes which are taking too long so it’s unsettling for the audience.
I’m off to my usual Props session later.

Wishing you all a good day and thinking of Urmstongran, Kalu and cornergran . 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Grandmabatty Tue 01-Aug-23 06:20:37

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14°, damp and very dull.
Ash I can imagine uniform costumes are very fiddly to get in and out of.
Yesterday dgs1 wasn't up to soft play so we stayed home. He was fairly lethargic most of the day with spurts of energy. Dgs2 screamed a lot yesterday. It's his go to mode when frustrated. Things will improve once he can talk.
Today I think the boys and I will go to the park, come hail or shine. I have a headache brewing and all day in the house with two small tornadoes won't help it. Have a good day all

RosesandLilac Tue 01-Aug-23 06:39:34

Good morning everyone, it was dry when I looked out of the window at 4.10am, hopefully it still is!
Yesterday we did a walk from the edge of the village, I knew it had some very steep bits but, oh boy, it very nearly finished me off! Won’t be doing that one again 😳
I had an oddly enjoyable time emptying and sorting the cupboards in my craft room so I actually know what I have and where it is! Far too much of everything but who cares! Nice and tidy now.
Today I want to sort out a small flowerbed that’s just outside the side door, it’s scruffy and needs going over.
Then online watercolour painting course, I’m looking forward to that.
Have a lovely day 🌹

Good morning from Shropshire.A dry day forecast🤞🏻

I lost a filling yesterday so am off to the dentist this morning😭I have a phobia of going to the dentist.

I hope today is an easier day for you Grandmabatty.

We would like to see Oppenheimer but like Oops not sure about sitting for three hours.

That’s a shame about the play Ash but maybe olddudders observations will encourage the men to be more speedy with their costume changes.

I hope AuntieFlo phone consultation goes well today and that Mary’s cough has eased.Thoughts to all struggling with their health and those caring for loved ones.Hope the journey to the hospital wasn’t too tiring for cornergran.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Morning a Mick , morning All. Sky is clearing over our corner of Somerset.

Buses worked well yesterday. It’s an easy and stress free way to travel. Must work at staying awake on the way back! Mr C is in blessedly little pain, surgeons are pleased with their handiwork. Physios are being kind. Still in HDU as no space on the ward. See what today brings.

Thank you again for all the kindness. Apologies, I’ll not have time to respond to PMs today. Seriously scrambled head by the time I return home.

Goodness grandmab you must be shattered. Hope today is less full of screams. Our first was like that, jolly hard work.

Pleased you’re out and about mick. Hope the costume changes get slicker ash.

Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

A pinch and a punch.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Cloudy, dull and I am going through the stages of a fluey cold.

I managed the morning in Edinburgh yesterday but rested in the afternoon.
Luckily the shops are within 5 mins walk, an advantage of living in the town centre.

The Helpers arrived late because they got on the wrong bus. We had a funny conversation on Google translate but I just wanted to get to my bed.

I hope you aren't going down with something Grandmabatty . Take it easy. CBeebies for nanny?

I will wait to watch Oppenheimer too oopsie. My DC found it long!

You sound much better Mick.
I'm glad you got a lift with the shopping gMattie
I can imagine those rehearsals Ash. Your patient DH 😉

Have a lovely day everyone. Hugs for those struggling.

Good morning everyone from an overcast morning approaching our first port of call in Iceland. We are now an hour behind you; just having a tea in my cabin before I get ready for breakfast and my first Icelandic excursion.

Am on a tour called the 'Scenic East'; we need to use the ship's tender, as it is a very small port.

Yesterday was a sea day; I went to a destination presentation, then watched a line dancing class; after lunch we were entertained by a piano quartet playing Scandinavian music, then I watched a choir rehearsal. I also managed to fit in my mile walk around the deck and lots of reading. After dinner a good show of musical theatre favourites was the entertainment.

After lunch I plan on a relaxing afternoon, reading again.
Happy White Rabbits Day everyone!

Good morning from Cornwall where it's raining, cool and delightfully fresh. A shame for the tourists though - lots of soggy families trailing around the town in this weather. Surprised to see where I live on a TV programme last night, with a friend talking on camera just metres from my flat. Spent hours in Costa yesterday with my school friend, so much to talk about, such a treat. Today, a bus to a nearby craft fair and then to tropical gardens for a hobble around. My knee op is exactly four months away today, yippee!

Greyduster Tue 01-Aug-23 07:13:53

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is going to be a damp, dreary day. I went to see Oppenheimer yesterday with DD and her menfolk, and yes it’s a very long time to sit in a cinema, even if the seats are very comfortable, but it’s a very compelling film.
Nothing special going on here - I must clean out my fridge, finish my “homework” for writers group and do a bit of gardening if it brightens up at all.
Have the best day you can, one and all.

Jacs7 Tue 01-Aug-23 07:14:48

Good morning everyone from an overcast north Kent; wouldn’t it be nice to wake up to a warm sunny Summer’s day!

Not much planned today. A trip to the osteopath this morning so he can massage and stick pins into my stiff thumbs. The medical acupuncture seems to be working as they are much better. Will have a walk into town for a few bits and pieces then might have a go at doing a new watercolour painting.

Glad to hear that MrC is progressing well.

Hope you all have a good day.

kittylester Tue 01-Aug-23 07:16:28

Good morningvall from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

Yesterday's volunteering session was very satisfying and, therefore, exhausting.

Today, I am going to call in on my bedridden friend for an update. I wish she would take on board advice given by professionals. But at least she is going to see my cleaner with a view to having help from her.

Then have the best day possible everyone.

brook2704 Tue 01-Aug-23 07:17:02

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve grey cloud, hoping it brightens up later
Pleased to hear good news corner, hoping Mr C continues to do well
A house full here, I picked up DD1 and two excited DGS from the airport yesterday, we had a lovely dinner and they’ve settled in well. Today I think we’re taking the DGS out to the local NT Brodie Castle, DD1 is working from (my) home and we’ll catch up later. I think we’re also all meeting up with the Inverness DGC later so a busy day ahead
Hoping things can get a bit quicker with the costume changes Ash, must be really difficult though - when’s the opening night?
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, especially Urms, kalu and baggs hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Pittcity Tue 01-Aug-23 07:18:02

Good morning from a breezy Colchester. Today's forecast is dry so I've put the washing machine on.
DGS3 and I have no plans but we'll probably end up at the play area in the park at some point.
Love to all 🦩 x

Whitewavemark2 Tue 01-Aug-23 07:18:58

I posted a long schpeel and it disappeared.

Good morning and enjoy your day 🙂

Beechnut Tue 01-Aug-23 07:19:06

Good morning all and a new mumff.

Sunny day on Severnside and I’ve got my fourth load of washing in the machine to make the most of todays good weather.

I’ve some work to do today inside but I shall make sure I get outside to do something even if it’s just to mow the lawn.

Have a good day everyone 🌞🌼

luluaugust Tue 01-Aug-23 07:19:56

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Our two GSs are off back to Scotland today, we shall miss them a lot they are great fun to be with. One starts bar work during the Edinburgh Fringe the other has a newish girlfriend awaiting his return.
A visit to the hairdresser later is much needed.
All the best

Gingster Tue 01-Aug-23 07:29:40

Good morning all and it’s bright, sunny and breezy here on the Suffolk Coast. No rain forecast today 🤞.

Yesterday we shopped and pottered. Dh tinkered with his old MG. (Same age as me). He’s thinking of selling it as he doesn’t really go out in it very often. It will just deteriorate left in the garage. .

My two brothers and one sister in law are coming today. Out for lunch, then a walk along the beach. They are good company ,
Bluesapphire you bring back all my memories of cruising. Always something to do (if you want to), and the wonderful places you are transported to. We did the World Cruise a few years ago and loved every minute of that 4 months on board. .

Ash you know what they say ‘bad rehearsal, good show’ 🤞.

Grandmabatty I hope your little tornadoes are calmer today.

Love and best wishes to poorlies and worried . Find a little peace today 🕊️.

NannyJan53 Tue 01-Aug-23 07:53:03

Good morning from a brighter Black Country, where there was heavy rain yesterday.

Meeting up with my friend this morning, for a walk in the local country park. Then lunch in the cafe there.

Love the sound of your cruise BlueSapphire I have always fancied visiting Iceland. Must try to convince MrJ he prefers sunnier climes! A cruise sounds a good way to visit.

Wishing you all the best day possible

monk08 Tue 01-Aug-23 07:56:54

Good morning all from the Black country sunny when I opened the curtains but now looks like it's about to pour down, typical I put a wash on.
DH will need hearing aids they are referring him back to gp who will make appointment for NHS hearing aids.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

NanKate Tue 01-Aug-23 07:57:17

Good morning Mick and All from a bright South Bucks.

Today is the WI Summer Show. I don’t make cakes or jam and I don’t do crafts, so my contribution is a poem about the Coronation. It’s always a fun afternoon and we sit outside the Cricket Pavilion at the end eating delicious cake and slurping tea.

Gala Tue 01-Aug-23 07:57:22

Good morning all. Cloudy but dry here in Sefton. It's very breezy, no rain forecast, could be a good (3 peg) drying day.
Zoom exercise class first thing, then possibly the library. No other plans for the day though I do have some admin to sort. Exciting times!

Liberty Tue 01-Aug-23 08:01:32

Good morning from a sunny and hopefully warm day in Suffolk.

Yesterday was much better than forecast and our visit to Dunwich was dry, warm and delightful. I think the poor forecast had put people off visiting and the huge car park there was less busy than I think we’ve ever seen it.

Today I’m having lunch at a friends with 2 other close ones. She has a beautiful willow tree at the edge of her pond which has died because of the drought last year. Sadly in spite of getting advice from 2 tree surgeons there is nothing that can be done to save it and it has to be cut down. She needs company whilst this is happening so,hopefully, chat will help.

Thinking of those with different concerns who need love and compassion around them.
