Good Morning Everyone,
Grey at the moment here in brackley with signs of rain overnight .
Yesterdays trip out was good , enjoyed the Oppenheimer film despite length , ity would make a good debate as to discussion by some , as to what if things had happened earlier as to it.
Today , some laundry plus housework , my weight is coming back up a little ,and some symptoms starting to settle .
Take Care,
Mick

Good afternoon all from rainy Lancashire. Just back from hospital eye clinic, doing good, next appointment in 6 months.

Off for a nap now, I find the eye tests really tiring.

Good morning from a hot sunny Siberia. Another scorcher today.
I went to the gym and to school to teach.
I have organised a cinema and tea trip for my child students. They have chosen a cartoon film about a whale, which sounds fun.
I have been trying to book an airbnb in Plymouth for a month but with not too much success - yet.
Mick, sounds like you are well on the road to recovery.

I wish you all a peaceful and happy day.

taichinan and bluesapphire, DH and I went to Iceland in January, saw Gudfloss waterfall (completely solid!]. It was pretty cold at -25C…

Good morning all . My last post disappeared. Late this morning as we’ve got visitors.
Lovely day with two brothers and one sister in law. Nice pub and lunch a good company.
Weather foul and just got soaked walking little pooch.
An easy afternoon when visitors have left,
Take care all 🌸

Welcome to redmayrose. And are you a newcomer too ourkid? If so, welcome to you.

Hi Everyone from a very, very wet Somerset. Forecast for thunderstorms later - eek. I am going to be driving to see my great-niece for the first time at the exact time the storms are forecast. I shall definitely need to put my big girl pants on for that!

Stating the obvious, but this summer is dire weatherwise, isn't it? On the upside, the garden is looking very green and fresh, although some trees are looking very autumnal and some are shedding their leaves. Oh well, I guess it'll all sort itself out eventually.

At the moment, I'm playing on the laptop/wasting time/prevaricating while the hoover stands in the hall waiting for me to keep my promise to get on and clean the house ... best get on. Have a good Wednesday everyone.

P.S. Happy birthday Luluaugust 🎂🎉.

Ziplok Wed 02-Aug-23 11:06:27

Good morning.
A very wet one it is, too, with heavy drizzle at the moment - the kind that soaks you through. Luckily, I don’t need to go anywhere today.
Glad you enjoyed the film Mick and Greyduster. I watched the interview with the producer/writer on tv last night. Very interesting.
Lovely photos of Iceland, BlueSapphire and of Baggridge country park Nannyjan53.

Good morning all. Guess what? It's raining and quite breezy here on the Angus coast - in keeping with the rest of the UK it would seem!
Glad you enjoyed the film Mick. DD saw it the other day but rather 'damned it with faint praise' by just saying it was good, and nothing else.
My alarm woke me early this morning - I'd forgotten to turn it right off yesterday - so I enjoyed the luxury of turning over and going back to sleep. For two hours! So I haven't had time to read any posts properly yet. I just skimmed through (checking out the weather - Inverness is the only sunny place I think!) and looking at photos. Iceland looks really quite east Scotland-ish Bluesapphire. I suppose I expected more ice 😉
Today I'm off out to meet friends for lunch in the next town. We have a tradition of meeting up on each other's birthdays, so it will be good to gather round for a good old natter. There used to be five of us, but sadly we're down to four now - and all becoming a wee bit creaky too!
Now I must off and spend some time tittivating - I'm a good bit older than the others and don't like to make it too obvious!
Have the best day you can everyone, with special thoughts for those struggling just now x

Ashcombe Wed 02-Aug-23 09:34:37

Thank you for all the kind wishes for olddudders as he returns to his home. He travels by train, tube, Eurostar, metro and train to reach his destination, so weather shouldn't bother him and his train to Paddington was unaffected by industrial action.

He has an appointment soon in Le Mans regarding nodules on his parathyroid glands which will probably require minor surgery. I'm committed to the two week run of Dad's Army, opening on Monday. Olddudders will be back in early September to celebrate his brother's 70th birthday.

It does seem quiet here now!!

Stilllearning Wed 02-Aug-23 09:33:17

Morning everybody, weather same as usual in S Lanarkshire.

I really like your patchwork grandMattie and your pictures BlueSapphire, both quite cheering somehow.

I hope you get some relief from your pain harrigran, it sounds very draining.

I’m off now to have my nails done which is as much pre holiday titivating as I can be bothered with now! I liked the sound of the Maritime Museum Marydoll, I’ve not heard of it and have a day’s outing to plan for DGC the day before they return to school.

Happy Birthday to luluaugust, safe journey to your husband Ash and good wishes to everyone for a nice day.

Georgesgran Wed 02-Aug-23 09:17:40

Good morning from a wet, grey Durham. It started to drizzle late last night and ongoing. I’m pleased I got DD2’s laundry washed and dried on Monday - all 9 loads! I’ve a dull headache, which really isn’t me, but coffee this morning with a friend, then I must restock my cupboards - it’s like Mother Hubbards here. Little Dog to walk later -he goes home tomorrow (until next time).
Best wishes to all. X

Anniebach Wed 02-Aug-23 09:07:29

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning all from a bit brighter Black country after yesterday's dismal day with rain overnight.
Haven't read through yet tablet been on charge but some lovely photos on here today.
Wishing everyone a lovely day whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Morning from sun/showers/wind in S Hants.
Happy Birthday luluaugust 🎂🎉🎈.
Yesterday I had a rare cleaning splurge, couple of kitchen bits to finish today. The garden is running riot with the rain, but I quite like it, veg are slow, but coming along, I just hope we don’t get blight.
You sound a lot perkier Mick, good to see.
Enjoy your day, those struggling, hope you find a glimmer of hope.

Good morning from a very wet Co Armagh,
Great to hear of health improvements
I remember trying to entertain an energetic Grandson in the rain !
We couldn’t believe the difference when we got a new boiler , Liberty. less fuel and more heat !

Thorntrees Wed 02-Aug-23 08:51:48

Good morning from a damp Shropshire.
Had a nice trip to the local garden centre yesterday and a walk through the fields in the afternoon.
Boiler service this morning and hope to get into town to collect my engagement ring which has been repaired.
DH offered to buy me a new one but after51 years I’m quite attached to the original( the ring and DH).
Managed to make a private cardiac consultant appt for next week so hope to get some answers to my iregular heartbeats.
So glad to hear good news from corner
Hope everyone has a nice day and thoughts to those who are struggling.

EkwaNimitee Wed 02-Aug-23 08:50:45

Good morning Mick and everyone from dark Carlisle where the rain has just started.

Life seems to be getting back on track Mick, that's good.

I have to go out shortly....I have a dental appointment which I made as soon as I got back this weekend. A crown and tooth scheduled for removal in September has become painful when eating that side. I'll see what the dentist thinks about it, don't feel it will survive much longer...
Then in view of the weather, I think I shall tackle the ironing and then my new book. It was a birthday present and supposed to be a thrilling read but so far I'm unsure about it, it involves magic and spells all of which is not generally my thing.

The square is beautiful grandMattie, and I hope you get your glasses finally sorted.

I don't think I'm envying Olddudders, Ashcombe, not if he's going across on the ferry! Hope it's a better trip than I suspect.

Have the best possible day all of you.

Wyllow3 Wed 02-Aug-23 08:45:39
