Good Morning Everyone,
Grey at the moment here in brackley with signs of rain overnight .
Yesterdays trip out was good , enjoyed the Oppenheimer film despite length , ity would make a good debate as to discussion by some , as to what if things had happened earlier as to it.
Today , some laundry plus housework , my weight is coming back up a little ,and some symptoms starting to settle .
Take Care,
Mick

In haste from a drizzly and windy Torbay.

Glad you are feeling better and enjoyed the film, Mick.

An early start here for DH to catch a 7.30 train from Newton Abbot as he begins his return trip to France.

Hope all are well. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning, the moon woke me just past 4. Windy and rain, grim today

I have been very busy for a couple of days, much sorting and tidying in my sewing room. It is pretty straight now and I have made a catalogue of fabrics, all too easy to forget what I have and where. Achy shoulder with all the lifting and loading up and down steps so a slower-paced lighter day today but still with the clearing/sorting objective in mind

It feels autumnal in the air, apples are ripening fast and my baby rowan leaves are getting a red tinge. I quite like days like this, as long as I have a project to concentrate on and to keep me moving.

Have a good day

Good morning from a wet South Downs. Gales, rain and thunder forecast all day. I do feel sorry for the families on holiday, so disappointing for the children, although yesterday I spoke to a couple of mums who said their children were quite happy as it meant that they wouldn’t be dragged away from their screens. How times change!

I shall trog out with the dog, but spend the rest of the day indoors - I always have plenty to do. I’ve started an OU course to keep the links in my brain going. I’ve decided at nearly 80 it is time to give it plenty of exercise.

Veggie day so mushroom risotto today.

Enjoy the day however soggy

grandMattie Wed 02-Aug-23 06:42:14

Good morning from a drizzly Bristol.
We had a power cut during the night and that has discombobulated me somewhat. I didn’t hear any thunder, though we are promised some.
I hope olddd has a good journey back. Will you be following soon Ash?
I had a good “tai chi” class yesterday. They don’t seem to do any of what I call tai chi, just all sorts of versions of shibashi and some Xi Gung.
I managed to make the patchwork square I messed up, not once but three times, but making the parts too small. Yes, I know measure twice cut once, but if the dimensions are muddled in your mind…
Today is empty. If it isn’t too wet, I may go and get my glasses adjusted yet again in town.. Having a lot of trouble with them/headaches ATM.
Have a good day all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Sorry. Here’s photo

Morning all from a gloomy looking West Oxfordshire. My cleaner is coming this morning, I hope. It is the WI coffee morning in the village Coffee Shop. It is usually a hoot. Later I will pop into our local town and buy wedding cards and birthday cards and presents. I would prefer to drive to Oxford but it is still a nightmare to get to because of the 6-month roadworks. I think I mentioned elder son’s partner leaving her coat behind with her purse. Royal Mail came up trumps. I paid £8 for next day delivery, and they delivered. Have a good day. Thinking of those suffering in all sorts of ways, and especially Urms whose musings I enjoyed reading.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 02-Aug-23 06:52:09

Morning Mick and all

It’s grey, breezy and heavy rain due from lunchtime, hey ho British summer.

Third night in a row with little sleep, my mind meandering to places I would rather it didn’t, consequently I feel pretty rubbish. I will go to the gym first thing, DD will have her PT session as I finish so that I can watch The Imp. Then I think she wants to do a big food shop so I might join her.

Ashcombe I hope DH has an uneventful journey, grandMattie you seem to be having a lot of niggles with your glasses.

Try to keep dry folks 🙋‍♀️🦩☔️☔️☔️

Good morning from Cornwall where it's breezy and rainy and the air definitely smacks of autumn, yippee. The tree outside my window has some browning leaves.

A long, lovely time with my youngest son yesterday in Asda's café where we put the world to rights. Then a request from my granddaughter to come round for a while so I nipped home on the bus. We made slime, as you can see, and she learnt a tune on my keyboard. Today much sorting of my dinky flat to enable my daughter and son-in-law to bunk down overnight on Friday before they start their holiday in a nearby apartment overlooking the harbour. No room here to have them both for longer but much fun playing sardines for one night.

RosesandLilac Wed 02-Aug-23 06:59:01

Good morning, it’s already raining here on the edge of the Cotswolds, apparently getting heavier as the day goes on.
I will take the dog out in a moment then perhaps pop into the village coffee shop on the way back.
Definitely getting on with my watercolour painting today, I’ve signed up for a couple of online classes so looking forward to getting started.
Take care everyone 🌹

harrigran Wed 02-Aug-23 07:20:38

Good morning from a grey, drizzly NE. Forecast is for storms for the next two days, at least I won't have to water the patio pots.
I was in great pain all day yesterday so nothing got done, even dosed up with pain killers I struggled.
SIL will come and take me shopping, we will do a smart shop which should be a bit easier on my back.
Lots of activities going on, enjoy.

kittylester Wed 02-Aug-23 07:20:45

Good morning all from a really soggy North Leicestershire.

DH is off to the gym and I am going to Waitrose to collect a JL delivery. Yet more kitchen clearing on the cards for the rest of the day.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Pittcity Wed 02-Aug-23 07:21:13

Good morning from rainy Colchester.
DH will drop DGS1 home tonight as he has plans for the rest of the week. We have DGS3 here until Friday.
Dodging the showers to buy more groceries as the boys have eaten everything.
I'm trying to teach them new board games as there are only so many rounds of Uno you can play before going insane.
Love to all 🦩 x

Susan56 Wed 02-Aug-23 07:24:51

Good morning from Shropshire.

Nothing planned for today so after I have done the usual household jobs I will settle down in the conservatory with my book.

Safe journey to olddudders.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

brook2704 Wed 02-Aug-23 07:25:44

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry and bright just now, hopefully no rain later. Yesterday we had a lovely sunny afternoon, so hope it’s the same today.
Safe journey home for olddudders Ash, hope you’ll be together again soon
We had a really lovely day yesterday, just one of those perfect days that don’t come along that often but wonderful when they do. All 4 DGC played happily together and got on really well. Today we’re off for a few rounds at the crazy golf, the play park in town and maybe a walk near the river. DD1 will join us later again after doing a bit of work from here. I’ll have to pop to Tesco again as my fridge and cupboards are emptying rapidly!
Love the picture Mizuna!
I’ve not had much time to catch up on all the news bit hoping everyone is doing ok and those on holiday having a lovely time
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, especially Urms, Kalu and baggs hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Beechnut Wed 02-Aug-23 07:37:17

Good morning everyone. The sun is currently shining on Severnside. Thunder forecast for later.

I shall go swimming and tackle some ironing later. Two jobs I don’t like are putting shopping and ironing away.

I mowed the lawn yesterday. It hasn’t been done much this year what with the dry spell and then the rain.

Have a good day all 🌺☔️

luluaugust Wed 02-Aug-23 07:37:39

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Today is my birthday and I feel very lucky to have both DDs here for part of the day, a rare occurrence. We are having a sandwich lunch at home and a meal out later.
harrigran I hope your back improves
Best wishes to all

BlueSapphire Wed 02-Aug-23 07:37:49

Good morning everyone from a grey day in northern Iceland. At the moment we are sailing up a long fjord to the town of Akureyri, and I am in bed enjoying the view with a mug of tea!
Our excursion today is to explore this area, and to visit the large waterfall, Godafoss.
Yesterday was cold and foggy in our fjord, but our tour took us over the mountains to the next valley which was bathed in brilliant sunshine and pleasantly warm.
Hope all have a pleasant day.

Gala Wed 02-Aug-23 07:41:04

Oh what a grey day. Very wet here in Sefton. A real autumnal feel to it.
Zoom exercise class first thing then off to Pilates. A visit to admire a friend's new shed this afternoon.
Take care all.

ginny Wed 02-Aug-23 07:42:43

Good morning. When I woke the paths were dry, now they are wet after a shower.
Preparations today for the WI Garden Party that I am hosting this evening .
We’ll just have to play it by ear as far as the weather is concerned.
DD3 rang last evening to let me know that they might be back from holiday a few days early. They have had a few decent days weather wise but it is getting expensive keeping the boys occupied and no fun trailing around in the wet. They are a very outdoorsy family.
Thoughts with all who have struggles . A good day wished for all.

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 02-Aug-23 07:53:58

Good morning from a dull and damp Oxfordshire, apart from a dog walk I ah E an indoors day today.
MrOops is out with MissOops so I can put my music on and potter.
Happy Birthday Luluaugust have a lovely day💐🎉🎂🎁

Have a good day everyone, safe travels to those in the move, thoughts are with Urms,Kalu and Baggs

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 02-Aug-23 07:54:51

Whoa, ‘it’s an indoors day’ keyboard trying to strike out on its own.

Marydoll Wed 02-Aug-23 08:00:49

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it is 13°C, with more rain forecast.
Micj, you seem much brighter!

We had a fantastic day with Dollie yesterday at the Maritime Museum. We managed to get parked on the harbourside, a few minutes away, so little walking for me.
There were lots of activities to do and much to see. The staff were amazing and so helpful. Dollie hadn't finished her finding of clues before lunch, so the receptionist suggested we leave the clipboard for her to look after and come back after lunch.

I met two ladies from up north and they asked if I had ever been doon the watter. Ten minutes later and having delivered a module on Clyde boats I have sailed, and places visited as a child, they thanked me for making their visit enjoyable!
They had just been a trip on the paddle steamer Waverly from the Broomielaw to Oban. I was quite envious.💚

By late afternoon, Dollie was getting frustrated as she still had two clues left to find. By this time I wasn't feeling too good, so went and sat in the reception area. One of the curators asked if I was OK, which was kind of him. I explained that we had one more clue and Dollie was not for leaving until she found it, but I was exhausted.
He and another guide offered to help her by telling her if she was hot or cold, They were so lovely to her.

I was the middle of a delicious lunch, when I received a phone called, the display showed NHS. (My phone is set to any display NHS generic calls.)
It seems that because I had an echocardiogram in February at another hospital when I was a hospital inpatient, my appointment was being cancelled.
The caller explained that this referral had been made a year ago, by my GP and now that I am on the Professor's cardiology clinic list, I need to wait to see him in about a years time no doubt!

On the way home, we made a detour to see Babydoll, *Dollie" was delighted to see her baby cousin and even better, when she was rewarded with a huge smile!

When we got home, I noticed the answering nachine flashing. It was a call from the parish bookkeeper in a panic. She had sent me a screenshot, which showed the financial file she was working on was corrupted. Guess what I am doing today?

Safe journey to ODD and anyone else travelling.
Susan, I hope you got on ok at the dentist, a part of one of my new fillings fell out yesterday! 😪 Auntieflo, I hope your medical phone call yesterday was a positive one.

Have a good day folks, whatever your plans.

Grandmabatty Wed 02-Aug-23 08:01:01

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and damp. Ash safe journey to your dh. GrandMattie your patchwork is lovely. I like the juxtaposition of colours. Susan enjoy your day doing nothing. And Brook enjoy your busy day with your grandchildren. Luluaugust a happy birthday to you. I hope you have a lovely day.
Yesterday was another long day as dgs1 still wasn't himself. He was quite lethargic with emotional outbursts. He has sprouted recently so it's maybe connected to a growth spurt. He wanted to talk to mummy and fortunately she was able to phone him for a chat which cheered him up. I visited mum last night who was ready to sleep but had a little chat.
Today I'm doing very little. I shall potter about and tidy up the garden a bit. I enjoy my quiet Wednesday after the chaos of two childcare days. Chorizo and gnocchi in a tomato sauce for dinner. Have a good day all

Jacs7 Wed 02-Aug-23 08:01:04

Good morning from a dull and wet north Kent. Think it will be a damp and dismal day.

Nothing much planned today. Exercise class this morning which is always good fun and gives a virtuous feeling to the day. Apart from that will see how the day pans out. DD and family are on route to their holiday in Rhodes; the fires are under control and have been on the other side of the island to their hotel and the heat wave is lessening so they are looking forward to their holiday.

Hope you all have a good day.
