Anyone else had any luck?

Ah, I see, thanks. I thought you were talking about Premium Bonds - too early on a Sunday morning for me grin.

What are one year bonds, please?

They have a new one year bond, offering 6.2% interest.

I moved a chunk of mine to an ISA giving something like 4.5% just before the prize levels on bonds increased, but I have still won £125 in the last couple of months. I can’t remember how much the ISA will pay over the year or two the money is locked away, but it still feels like a better deal. I might increase my monthly spend on new bonds though. I’ve had a DD going for years now at £50 a month, but I think I’ll increase it a bit.

I won nothing this month but hubby won £325. He has the max amount, £50,000. He just looked up how much interest his bank would have given on £50k in a year and it was £93. He has won several thousands in P Bond wins this year.
I am going to transfer more savings into P Bonds this afternoon. 😉

He would get over £300 now with the new one year NS & I bonds.

kittylester Sat 02-Sept-23 18:54:14

Only £100 between us this time. But I have bought a lottery ticket!!

Kate1949 Sat 02-Sept-23 13:51:52

£200 on mine today. Nothing on DH's.

Doodledog Sat 02-Sept-23 13:46:26

Congratulations to all winners!

I got £100, which is good as I sold a lot of mine a while ago, and didn't win much when I had them.

Poppyred Sat 02-Sept-23 12:48:55

£175 for me this month. Most I’ve ever won in one draw! Nothing for DH.

DanniRae Sat 02-Sept-23 12:15:13

£50 for me this month ....... better than nothing!

Kateykrunch Sat 02-Sept-23 10:32:09

Oooops, Ive started a September thread!

annsixty Sat 02-Sept-23 10:22:46

I too love the little excitement of checking each month.
I am too old to worry about interest rates and waiting a year for a few pounds.
I spend any winnings on a nice meal or similar.
£125 for me today.

welshchrissy Sat 02-Sept-23 09:53:10

£100 win this month . Then tried to close bathroom window and hinge broke £80 to repair ar well that’s life

Charleygirl5 Sat 02-Sept-23 09:28:06

£100 for me. I was expecting zilch because I have won something if only £25 each month this year. I and a friend also enjoy the frisson of excitement each month. At least the winnings are tax-free.

henetha Sat 02-Sept-23 09:24:39

Nothing for me here in my nest since last January. It's clucking rotten!

Largolass Sat 02-Sept-23 09:18:57

Jaxjacky Sat 02-Sept-23 09:12:44

Just £25 this month, better than nothing.

Visgir1 Sat 02-Sept-23 09:01:43

I have had PB since the 60's tbh I have forgotten about them. Never won a penny.

Maggiemaybe Sat 02-Sept-23 08:52:07

How lovely to win £10,000 from a £25 holding you bought in 1971. I hope the winner’s still around to receive it!

Maggiemaybe Sat 02-Sept-23 08:48:18

There seem to be more people than usual winning big with just a few bonds this month (you can order the table by “holding”, low to high). I think they’ve shaken them up a bit. grin

kittylester Sat 02-Sept-23 08:02:56

Only £100 this month. Don't they know we have a whole new kitchen to pay for. grin
