Good morning from a sunny but cool (normal for August) Oxfordshire.
Washing and dog walk today, I cleaned through yesterday as it was raining.

Marydoll MissOops has to wear finger splints now as her fingers are ‘swan necking’ so very painful for her, she wouldn’t be able to manage a manual car, also she can’t use my car any more as she can’t use the door handles to get in, her Erosive Arthritis is galloping along, no painkillers, apart from Tramadol, which she hates will help the intense pain, so I can understand the pain in your hands. The number of cups and glasses that just drop from her hands….
Karmaldy hope your consult goes ok.
Thoughts are with those who need a virtual hug and for those looking after sick family members.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. A busy weekend with family visits and now getting ready for DD2 and family to come and stay whilst her roof is being sorted out. It is years since we have had so many visitors.
Thank you for the kind wishes regarding my DDIL she should know very soon what the plan for her care is.

Yesterday was a lovely sunny day and I got loads of washing dried outside and the grass cut. This morning I’ve got a short training session for my new volunteering opportunity, I’ll decide then if it’s for me or not! Then Zumba at the gym followed by a coffee and catch up with my pal.
Good to hear MrC is doing well corner, hope you can get the follow on care in place without too much hassle.

DH has gone to open up the boat yard early then he is coming back and we are going to watch the football, good luck to the England team.
Yesterday we booked a holiday to Turkey, going at the end of September. We've not been before but it is somewhere different where hopefully it will still be hot and sunny.

I know the photo is old and already seen here but my heart is full of joy this morning for all sorts of reasons and this reflects it.

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a dry, intermittently sunny South Yorkshire. I heard yesterday that my lovely neighbour, who was taken ill while out of the country on holiday has died. He and his wife were a great source of support to me while DH was ill, and after he died, but I’ll miss him because he was such a lovely, kind, gentle man. My heart goes out to his wife and family.
Had a lovely dinner here with DD and the menfolk yesterday. GS helped to prep the veg. I did have to point out to him though that there are quicker ways to top and tail a pack of French beans than doing them one at a time!
Today if it stays dry I’ll cut the front lawn and try and get a walk in.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 12°C, with rain forecast later.
DH is golfing and I was planning an empty, but my neighbour, the Ebay Queen has invited me out for coffee and a (high end) charity shop trawl.

I will let myself into church later to collect more surplices and soutanes. Our church is closed this week, no priest, and I am taking the opportunity to wash all twenty of them. I noticed yesterday that many were stained (messy altar boys) and covered in wax. They are very heavy and cumbersome and I hate them lying in my utility room, so I am pacing myself.
I am also chasing an Evri parcel, which has been lying in the wrong depot! 🤬

I have come to a point, where I may have to give up some of my sacristan duties. I am making too many mistakes and having too many disasters.
To my huge embarrassment yesterday, I dropped the chalice, paten etc, while setting up the altar for Mass. They flew out of my hand and I have no idea how it happened.
I looked down the church to see the congregation looking horrified, as everything was strewn across the altar.☹.
My RA flare up seems to be quite severe this time and my hands are reverting back to the way they were when I was forced to give up teaching. I am resisting wearing my cumbersome splints, but it is looking very likely.
For that reason the Ebay Queen will drive today.
I had no intention of changing my car to an automatic (DH bluntly said I would never get my money's worth ⚰), but I am seriously thinking about it, for I am determined to maintain my independence.

The wireless keyboard for my PC failed yesterday and no matter what I tried, I couldn't get it to work. 😡
After working for an hour with an old wired one and a wired mouse, I gave in and ordered a new one. It arrived three hours later, how is that for service?

Baubles, many years ago, just married, I had a bone marrow biopsy done on my sternum, when I first became ill. I was heavily sedated and woke up in my bed confused, minus my nightie.
Much to the amusement of the staff, I was screaming someone had stolen my nightie! 😊
I shall keep you in my prayers today.

Morning Mick, morning All. Looks like a clear start to the day in our corner of Somerset.

Mr C is happy to be home, I’m happy not to be travelling. Fortunately Mr C is experiencing little pain, our joint task is to gradually build strength, we are warned to think months not weeks. Surgeons (all three of them) are delighted with their joint handiwork. At the moment Mr C needs help with everything, so please excuse my morning absence for a while, our mornings and indeed days are devoid of routine at the moment. .

Many of you will be familiar with the gap between hospital expectation and what primary care systems permit. First challenge is to manage a need for daily blood testing, the second to obtain a GP appointment in the timeframe the surgeon insists is essential. We’ll get there. Just takes both time and energy.

Family came yesterday to check on us both, we’ve been so fortunate to have their practical and emotional support. Real rocks. Our former daughter in law is geographically closest to us and will also willingly help. Neighbours offer daily help with errands. We’re very fortunate indeed. Currently our bungalow resembles a florist, everyone brought food treats yesterday. I was quite overwhelmed.

Thank you all for your kindness and support. It’s meant a lot. Best get on with our morning non-routine.

Good morning from a glorious morning on the South Downs.

Housework planned this morning and after an appointment at the podiatrist. Then on to the flower shop, so living the high life today😄.

A couple of cats have begun to gang up on my dog and vixen husband and wife foxes when I feed them at night. The cats don’t seem to want the food but won’t let the foxes near it either. Mr fox disappeared, but Mrs fox curled up near them and waited - I guess her patience won out in the end.

Nice time of year in the garden I always think, as there isn’t really an awful lot to do, but the flowers are lovely. I’ve ordered daffs and tulips for autumn planting😮. Where does the time go? It was only spring yesterday!

Meat day today - moussaka - takes forever to prepare but delicious.

Dungarees are almost finished and it seems as though they will be very wearable over winter. I may well be making the same pattern, small size, for dd, who is a slender athlete. Dgs is growing very tall, 16 this week and I am going to pass my accordian over to him. He is very keen to have it

Good morning, clear blue skies and sunshine here, fingers crossed it stays so!
Yesterday a friend unexpectedly asked me if I’d like to visit a NGS garden a few miles from here with her. We had a lovely time, despite showers, then coffees on the way back. It was a beautiful garden, full of unusual plants.
Today DH and dog are out for the day so I will be gardening and doing more watercolours I think.

Good morningMick and all from Polmont where it's currently 9° with a beautiful blue sky. It has been cold in the night as the cars have condensation on them. Ash my goodness, the prompter must have been very busy. Harrigran don't do too much!
Yesterday was a lovely quiet day. The dehumidifier duly arrived and is waiting for me to turn it on. I enjoyed pottering in the garden for a while and blethering to my neighbours. I made a chicken and Serrano ham salad for dinner which was lovely.
Today is childcare day. I have booked soft play again for this morning and the fridge is full. I have a gardener coming at lunchtime to give me a price to trim awful leylandii hedges which badly need attention. I still have a cough which is annoying but less so than the weekend. Chicken again for dinner tonight. Have a good day all

Good morning from a dry Bristol. So nice to see blue sky.
I’m glad the dress rehearsal went well, Ash, despite all the unscheduled dramas!
We too have a few moments in church during the intercessions to pray for those people on our hearts; naturally you are all much on mine.
I did very little yesterday, it having been very low, for now apparent reason.
Today, I’m washing the church toddler cushions before making new covers for them. My lovely neighbour is also taking me to Tesco this morning.

Good morning from a beautiful clear, still Torbay with a promise of sunshine as its first rays catch the tops of the trees.

Thank you for the supportive comments regarding our final dress rehearsal yesterday. As it was a last minute decision to hold it, a few cast members were missing, giving the prompt lady the chance to try out a range of accents from German to Midlands! Before the end of Act One, Corporal Jones was summoned home as his daughter had been involved in a car accident. We were relieved to hear later that she was OK but has whiplash.

Yesterday morning in church, we were given the chance to offer prayers for those whose names were on our hearts. My thoughts were with absent and unwell friends from here. 🦩🥰😎💐🦩

Good morning Mick and all to follow. I have been awake since 4.30am. It is dry here in the NE which makes a change.
SIL and I got some paperwork sorted yesterday and spent a very long time trying to get on to the NS&I website to buy PBs for GD. I thought doing things online was supposed to be much easier than the old fashioned way, not so 🤨
I have a lot of laundry to do but I still have a painful back so not keen, needs must as I am going on holiday next week.
