Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry but grey sky here in brackley this morning.
I did not go out yesterday, but stayed in apart from an attempt to eat a Chinese Take Away .
Buy body is still not a 100% tempted to drink more bottled water as opposed to tap water.
Must plan my week next week ,after I have watched to women's road race champs from Glasgow.
Take Care,
Miclk

Good morning from the Essex coast, it's a little cooler and more cloudy than yesterday.
DH didn't have a good day yesterday, his head hurt all day. He told me he didn't expect it to be this bad. We did go for a walk to see the Festival that is going on beside the sea. It will all happen again today. Everyone seemed to be having fun although I have heard of a nasty incident last night.
We watched the football, well done girls, rugby in the afternoon and the 100 cricket in the evening. A good day for sports fans and my team won their first game of the season.
DD2 and family arrived safely home from Kos yesterday afternoon.
We are going to watch his eldest grandson play cricket this morning then we will take the day as it comes.
Thinking of all those with worries and sadness.
Enjoy Sunday everyone xxx

Good morning all from cloudy Harrogate
I’m finding it difficult getting back in the habit or writing posts after a long break of not being able to post. Lovely g photos Llfl and Ash.
I, too, have been up in a balloon GrandMattie and loved it. 1st time was over villages in N Yorkshire, the2nd time was over York.
Yesterday after making 3 crumbles and 2 quiches, I sorted out some paintings for our forthcoming exhibition.
Then DD2 arrived to pick up a clothes rail for her car boot sale today. She got a bit huffy because I wasn’t ready for her apart from donating some stuff for her to sell. Found she was hiding a male in her car who I wasn’t meant to know about!
Church this morning then sorting out the attic after it got messed up yesterday
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders' sunshine 🌞
Lots of showers yesterday for our foraging walk. It was fun, productive and educational. It's for families and the youngsters were finding things the older ones couldn't.
After a nap I went to a df 70th party in their beautiful garden. There was a band and dancing in a marquee. Fabulous - though I didn't stay late.

Tonight I will go to a concert. I love August with the festival in Edinburgh and lots of visitors.

The Australian wedding looks fabulous LLFL enjoy the rest of your stay

Glad you continue to improve Mick .
Such a shame to see your DM declining grandmabatty .

Foxygloves you made me smile! If I linger even a few too many minutes at a pump, someone will offer to "help". You must ooze efficiency.
Get better soon Blossoming

MrJ is in a Novices competition at bowls starting this morning.
I’ll be doing similar jobs WWM2, both fridge and oven need a clean.
Lovely pictures llfl Ashcombe and NannyJan thank you.
Tomatoes are now producing, later than usual, but plentiful.
Thinking of those in dark places.

Good morning everyone from a grey and cloudy Northampton, no idea what the weather has in mind today.

Spent most of yesterday unpacking the second suitcase, sorting clothes for washing and putting away. Also started a pile for the charity shop - there may be more to come. I seem to have come home from the cruise minus one much-loved scarf; I know I checked my cabin several times, so can't think where it is. I will ring tomorrow and see if any crew has come across it - it may be in Lost and Found on the ship.

A morning of pottering and then to the cinema this afternoon to see a screening of 'Oklahoma '; it is the Hugh Jackman, Maureen Lipman production from some years back I believe.

Wishing all a pleasant Sunday.

Good morning from a damp and drippy North Leicestershire.

Not much happening here today. DD2 is cooking Sunday lunch and we are going to play board games with the DGDs.

Thinking of everyone who has sadness, worries and irritations.

BlueSapphire Sun 13-Aug-23 08:49:11

Foxygloves I am also going to the streamed production of 'Oklahoma!' too; only just read your post; it is on at a local filmhouse.

Good morning everyone from north Kent where there are blue skies and sunshine. Not sure of temperature as I am lolling about and not yet ventured outside.

A late night yesterday as I was awake waiting for a message from DD to say they were home from their Rhodes holiday after a late night flight. No doubt they will pop round later and we shall hear all about their holiday.

Today I shall spend a while dead heading and pottering in the garden. Not a great deal to do as everything is usually left to do its own thing. Apart from that nothing else planned; I have a book I want to finish. I made the mistake of looking at one of the book forums on here yesterday and came away with several titles that I want to read so better get to it!

Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning from West York's a grey sky this morning . Nothing planned for this morning we have been invited to tea at Dd,s this afternoon where Gg will tell us all about their holiday in Northumberland .

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright but showery Carlise. I won't have a moan about the weather having read your reminder about the temperature this time last year Jaxjacky, even in Carlisle it reached about 32C. Days of it, far too hot for me to function outside.

I got my 'free' birthday cake at the garden centre yesterday. I'm not usually one for gooey cake but it was a light and tasty hunk of carrot cake half of which I had to take home for later. I didn't come home empty handed in the plant department either though they are just spring bulbs. I tend to lose my head when confronted with an array of my favourite tulips. Now I only have a small garden, my previous mantra of 'they'll fit in somewhere' is not on!
I spent part of the afternoon re-vamping a small corner of the shade area where I have planted a yew and foxgloves. I've put down a thick bark mulch and edged it all with limestone rockery stone handily excavated from the garden. I've had a mini mountain of it, kind of the builders to bury it for me to find!
Today, a quiet day of pottering...little jobs if the mood takes me and finishing off an accumulating pile of magazines.

Wishing you all an enjoyable Sunday.

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny Oxfordshire after overnight rain.
Roast chicken lunch today, but I will have a slice of nut roast that I made a while ago, sliced up and popped into the freezer.
MissOops and nephew are due to arrive at 12, but I suspect Nephew won’t turn up so I will send a plate back with MissOops.
I’ve ordered some bubble wrap and ‘Fragile’ tape so that I can sort out the crockery, it was so nice to use it the other evening and it was a talking point among the ladies, so I will start to use some pieces more often, it doesn’t take long to wash it up, but it needs somewhere safe to be put afterwards as it won’t stack without cracking, I might have to clear the sideboard a bit. Another job that will lead onto even more jobs to make it work!
So apart from lunch that’s me done for the day.
Lovely pics LLFL so good that you were able to be there.
Karmalady I might have to buy a sewing pattern as you have inspired me! I’m between a 12 and 14 so everything I buy is too big or too small and getting down to a proper 12 is proving difficult. Can you PM me where you buy your Linen fabric? GM I have made quilts in the past, but nothing as complicated as yours, they are brilliant and you do them so quickly.

Hope everyone sees some sunshine , thoughts are with the poorly grans and poorly families.

brook2704 Sun 13-Aug-23 09:26:55

A late good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry and sunny, I overslept and DH left me snoozing away
I’ve not had chance to read all the posts yet but I did see llfl gorgeous wedding photos! Congratulations to the happy couple 💐🎉🥂💕
Nothing much planned for today, a bit of gardening and pottering
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a cloudy but dry NE.
Yesterday someone posted video clips from their Ring doorbell showing two intruders wearing balaclavas entering the porch. The Facebook page is for residents of the estate and there seems to be a lot of crime here at present.
Needless to say I did not sleep well last night.
DS and family are safely home from their holiday but GD will be off to Manchester University shortly for an engineering course. I am at a loss to know what that entails as she is 13.
DD and SIL are coming this afternoon and we will cook dinner together. Must discuss what I need to take on holiday too.
Lovely photographs today.
Have a good day.

hollysteers Sun 13-Aug-23 09:48:05

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
Nice meal with friend in the city and weekend mayhem after not seeing her for quite a while, then a couple of drinks before the last train home which came to a halt four stations before mine. It didn’t move for over an hour, trouble on the line and I got rather cold, being in a summer dress and short sleeved cardigan. Thank heavens for the kindle on my phone. I thought we might all have to pile into a bus which has happened before, but thankfully no and we got going again, leading to a late arrival home.
I was sorry to hear of the death of one of my private mature singing students, a lovely man who also did jobs for me and painted my DDs flat.

Quiet day today, hope you are ok Mick and thoughts to all with troubles 🌹

Good morning from S Lanarkshire where it is sunny with no sign of the forecast drizzle at the moment. It will be waiting till I leave for church!

Really nice day yesterday with an old friend, we went to see a youth production of ‘Frozen’ and the young cast were amazing, particularly the adult ‘Elsa’ who has a real talent for comedy.
Then a walk round the Loch followed by a meal out before she caught the train home.

I’ve had a quick scan of the last couple of day’s posts and was very sad to read about the family who lost their precious baby Ash, a dreadful thing, I will remember them.

I also missed seeing Urms’ post, of course my thoughts are with her as well as the others who are walking such difficult paths.

Family with youngest DGC were here overnight on Friday, I have only seen them once over the holidays so it was great to be with them again, although DD looked as though she can’t wait for school to start again on Wednesday!

Lovely happy picture Llfl, sounds like a wonderful holiday too.

Good wishes to all for a peaceful Sunday.

^Storage container should be storage box!Sounds like I have a shipping container sitting on the drive^🤣

Susan once you start going through them it’ll feel like a shipping container - I’ve just done the same with a boxful here! It took me months!
