Sorry, wouldn't suit me at all. I like to be able to read, and reread if necessary.
I don't like YouTube videos for the same reason, I don't remember every word that is said and it's much easier to skim a page of writing than it is to fiddle around trying to locate the time at which something was said. It makes following an argument really difficult.
I'm really sad that reading seems to have gone out of fashion...
As you're dictating your posts, DAR, are we allowed to point out when your speech to text software is making mistakes?
Maisie, I asked what difference people thought it would make rather than wanting to thrust it on everyone.
The software is a real problem, as is not having a keyboard but using the on-screen one. It's part of the murder (by me or Microsoft, I'm not sure which) of my computer. It died, taking with it my specialist software. I didn't always use it, but it had learned my voice, knew I wrote in English English, understood punctuation and was reasonably good at grammar, etc., etc. Unfortunately, these things are a) not cheap and b) use a lot of memory.
So, joy of joys, I found the tablet had a built-in dictation program. It is appalling! I still use it because I get tired due to my level of concentration when I'm typing. If it's something long and complicated, I run it through another programme, but oh, what a waste of time and energy. Anyway, that is the tale, or as the tablet would have it, the "tail" of my software and, thinking about it, that may be what led to my question
