Grandmabatty

Marydoll thank you. I've ordered from Amazon so should arrive tomorrow

Its a tiny bottle. I sit it on the windowsill. It's usually DHs forgotten bananas, which are the culprit here.

Good morning from a grey W Kent. DH off for a blood test first thing and then visit to GS3 to hand over his birthday card etc as he is off abroad for a year at University.
Love the cushions gM and the beautiful ship Mizuna
Best wishes to all

Good morning from a dull Black Country where it is just starting to rain. Thunderstorms forecast!

Lovely walk yesterday with a cafe stop, very sunny and warm. In all I covered almost 8 miles as I walked to the park to the meeting point. Legs were very achy in the afternoon though.

u3a walk this morning cancelled due to the forecast storms. So I suppose I may as well make a start on housework!

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning all from an overcast Essex. Not the high temperatures that were forecast a few days ago. I,for one, am pleased 🥵.

Yesterday I caught the bus to the hospital, had my glaucoma tests done and caught the bus home. Brilliant - I’ll do that again. No driving, parking, no cabs and didn’t cost me a penny.
I’ve had three of these tests now (all inconclusive) but every time , the equipment and procedures have changed and improved. It was a ‘virtual clinic’, so didn’t see the practitioner for a feed back. They will write and tell me the results. I must say that all the staff were delightful.

DS1 has his stitches removed today and the results of his rodent ulcer removal. How is your dh Sar?

Little pooch to the groomers at 10 and then drinks with our Friday friends. The elderly landlady (90 in November) doesn’t do food anymore so we just have a catch-up and a gin or two.
We’ve been going to the same pub for over 40 years but I feel it will soon be closing. She only opens up for us on a Friday lunchtime. Nothing is status quo! 😢.

Fabulous photo Mizuna. So atmospheric. Maybe you could paint that.🤔.
LLF what a journey you’ve had. Exciting but exhausting. Have a chilled one.
Hope today is a better one for grans feeling under the weather.

Good morning from Foxyland where it is distinctly cooler. Yay!
As long as it is fine for tomorrow’s bbq with D3, SIL, his parents and the two little boys I am more than happy to see the garden watered with no effort from me.
When I got back from taking the Foxyhound to have her derrière checked by the vet yesterday I found I could not open my drivers door. Checked I hadn’t accidentally locked it and sat bemused for a moment or two. Then wound down the window and tried the handle on the outside - Phew! With one bound I was free!
As it had just come back from being unbent and I had a mobile no for the friendly mechanic, Tristram, I rang him just to ask whether they had had to do anything to that door in the course of the repairs and he admitted they had had to take the handle off in the course of the respray. So, to bring it over and they would look at it there and then. Nice man. They fixed it while I waited, no questions asked and my faith in garages was restored. Foxyhound did not like her derrière being fiddled with BTW and actually squeaked. If it had been dear late Gracie, I fear she’d have had the vet’s hand off grin
Out for coffee with a friend this morning and maybe a few bits (inevitably) from Waitrose while we are there.
Loved your picMizuma it made me think of “The Flying Dutchman” !
With warmest wishes especially to those of you with worries or in pain, I hope today is gentle with you.

Apologies MizuNa blush

Good morning from an overcast NE.
I am going on holiday today with DD and SIL, a week in Yorkshire. Lots of outings arranged with meals out.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
Thinking of the poorly people and their carers.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 18-Aug-23 08:03:01

Good morning from an overcast East Yorkshire.

Lovely photos today. I particularly like the tall ship pic. It would make a lovely print.

Our wedding anniversary today. No plans apart from to decamp to our lodge in the countryside for a few days. Tried to book a restaurant new to us. DH e mailed them but got a blunt reply that said fully booked sorry. He was a bit miffed for them not to offer any alternative date. We will find somewhere for a nice lunch I am sure.

Wishing you all a good day.

GrannySomerset Fri 18-Aug-23 08:14:09

Grey skies suggest the promised rain is not far away but after a very busy week I am happy to just potter though I may brave the elements and go to the weekly market.

Impressed by the cushion, covers, by Australian adventures and by very busy lives of which we see such interesting snapshots. Hope today is good for everyone.

Sar53 Fri 18-Aug-23 08:19:09

A quick good morning from a cloudy Essex coast.
DH has an appointment with the practice nurse at 9 to get the dressing changed on his head. I hope it is healing ok.
I will do some shopping and then we are heading to the boat.
Tomorrow we go away on it for a few days.
Wishing you all a lovely day xxx

Georgesgran Fri 18-Aug-23 08:25:29

Good morning from Durham. Seems still and overcast. Garden sorted yesterday by the efficient crew.
SinL cleared blocked gutters (moss from the roof and sycamore seeds) on Tuesday and found a lot of the wood trim rotten. Methinks an expensive job for next spring.
Little Dog still here, so I’ll not be going far - charity shop, as I’m slowly disposing of DH’s stuff and then Tesco. It’s a bit like Mother Hubbards here!
Hoping holidaying GNs have good breaks and the weather they want.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from a very dull Black country haven't read through yet late out of bed.
What lovely photos I'm sure the children will love their cushions once again your needlework is so impressive grandMattie. The tall ships look very atmospheric Mizuna
Small local shop today and a bit if tidying upstairs so will now grab a cuppa 🍵 and settle down to read everyone's happenings enjoy your day and may you all find some ☀️.

ginny Fri 18-Aug-23 08:31:46

Good morning. Not had a chance to read through yet as busy with two DGSs who stayed overnight.
DD will be picking them up in an hour.
No plans for today except clearing up and putting on some washing. I’ll then take it easy for the rest of the day.
Thoughts with all with problems of any kind. Wishing all a good day.

Wyllow3 Fri 18-Aug-23 08:33:35

Morning from a very gloomy S Yorks, I wouldn't be surprised it its a day of rain.

Lovely cushions and other pictures.

Yesterday I had my gastroscopy, fretted about it all day and a very long wait alone in waiting room was difficult, but lovely team and I have nothing nasty, its likely to end up managing bloating and other IBS stuff.

Today there will be flumping and books

best for poorlies and carers, and may outings and other endeavours go well.

monk08 Fri 18-Aug-23 08:46:40

Happy Anniversary Grandmadinosaur🥂🍾

BlueSapphire Fri 18-Aug-23 08:47:00

Good morning everyone from a very grey and overcast Northampton, rain forecast this morning, but hopefully not a lot, as I have a blood test appointment at the surgery and then plan on walking down to our small retail park. I need a few things from M&S Food and Sainsbury's.

Had a really strenuous dance session yesterday afternoon; we are.gradually putting together our tap sequence, which is lengthy and difficult, with lots of time and step changes. As I have been away, I was really out of practice, and had forgotten everything! Ballet was a bit easier with a gentle run through of plies, balance exercises, grand battement, ronde de jambe. Then on to porte de bras and gentle sequences. Focus is on grace and elegance, both of which I seem to lack! I still feel like the ugly duckling!

Was exhausted when I got home and had a gentle afternoon reading. Managed to summon up the energy to cook a stir-fry for.dinner though.

May Friday be kind to us all.

luluaugust Fri 18-Aug-23 08:52:38

Glad all was well Wyllow3

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 18-Aug-23 08:52:54

Good morning Mick and all, it’s hammering down here and the conservatory has sprung a leak…..
We had a good day on the coast yesterday then afterwards at my SILs house where all her family had arrived to say hello, they are a lovely bunch, BIL is not so well, he has a break from Chemo for a while, let’s hope it has proved effective and gives him more time.
Back down south again today to see MrOops old school friend for lunch, let’s hope the rain calms down a bit, thank goodness we booked an indoors table and not one down by the river.
Lovely photos on here today.
Hope everyone has a peaceful day.

EkwaNimitee Fri 18-Aug-23 08:53:41

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny-ish Carlisle. It's a tad cooler and the breeze is picking up, we have heavy rain forecast for this evening.

Yesterday saw a pleasant train ride over to Newcastle and back. I had my ECG equipment fitted. I had this done once before over 3 years ago when I had to endure various cablings around me. Not now...just 2 small electrodes and a little box thing. I take it off and post it back later today and then fingers crossed for a good result. The nurse, knowing my age, evidently expected a wrinkly old lady ( I am old) and complimented me on my looks! Makes you feel good straight away.

Today, a Tesco delivery shortly then I shall potter at a few little jobs. After lunch, it will be into town to post my device back and do a little shopping.

Best wishes to all the poorlies and their families.

Jaxjacky Fri 18-Aug-23 09:01:15

Happy Anniversary Grandmadinosaur 🎉🥂🎈.
Good result Wyllow 👍.

Beechnut Fri 18-Aug-23 09:10:43

Gloomy here too on Severnside.

Good morning everyone.
I had my annual blood test yesterday and asked about future injections. Also asked about admin stuff at reception and was sent that later. I will have a go sorting that later. Not many people in the waiting room.

I did my weekly shop afterwards and it was quite warm and uncomfortable coming out of the store. I was glad of the aircon.

Lovely photos today.

I’ll probably do some card making later as I have a few special birthdays coming up in the next few months.

Happy Anniversary to Mr&MrsDinosaur I hope you find somewhere nice for your lunch 🥂

Have good day all 🌷

Ziplok Fri 18-Aug-23 09:13:48

Good morning,

It’s very grey and dull here this morning with drizzly rain forecast throughout the day. I’m hoping it holds off though as I’m meeting up with friends later for a catch up.

Good news Wyllow3. It is anxious waiting for procedures, but you must be feeling huge relief at the news.

A lovely photo of the tall ship @Mizuna.

brook2704 Fri 18-Aug-23 09:32:44

A late good morning from me to everyone from Ullapool where we are about to board the ferry to Stornoway
It’s bright and sunny but the sea looks a bit choppy 🤢
A very Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs grandmadinosaur, enjoy your time at your holiday lodge
Hoping everything goes ok with the monitor Ekwa and the results are good
Well done Wyllow
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Taichinan Fri 18-Aug-23 09:40:02

Good morning all. The Angus coast is the same as yesterday - just a bit greyer, a bit breezier, a bit cooler, and it's raining! I guess this is November now as September has lasted a good while 😉
Lovely photo of the tall ship all lit up in its finery Mizuna. I hope you have a lovely messy arty day with your DGD.
Your cushions look lovely grandmattie.
What an amazing time you are having LLfl - though I don't envy you that bumpy flight in a small plane!
Our tai chi session was great yesterday. I asked one of the students what he thought we should look at and he picked a move which he felt we could improve on. It worked well and discussions carried in over coffee break as well. Next week I have told them that I shall offer myself up to be critiqued - I may live to regret that!
Now what to do for today? Oh yes, there's plenty that needs doing! But it feels so chilly today that all I can think of is curling up beside an open fire. I won't though as I haven't had the lounge chimney swept for many a long year, preferring to spend my time in the smaller and cosier garden room. So maybe just another cup of coffee before I get moving ........ ?
Have a good day everyone x

Taichinan Fri 18-Aug-23 09:41:45

Sorry, forgot to say Happy Anniversary to the Dinosaurs. Have a lovely day.
