If you know the title of the thread, and use the search function, you may see a message saying the thread has been deleted, and why. But search function is not great. Alternatively, if you've contributed to the thread, using the "I'm on" function may tell you about deletion.

Gransnet will take down a thread for a variety of reasons. One was removed earlier because the OP was previously banned, and their post had been reported by many
