Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry outside in brackley this morning.
Todays plans , not much had a bowel problem earlier , but have showered and changed clothing when out of bed .
Its a job to know what to take even with Loperarmide tablets although drinking water OK.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from sunny Glasgow, where it is 10 °C.
I'm sorry you have had a blip Mick, hopefully that is what is is. Perhaps, wise to drink only water and no solids, until it settles. Good suggestion to phone your team for advice.
GM, glad to hear you feel better.

Ash, DD's father had just had his parathyroid gland removed, a couple of weeks in ago , H was in and out of hospital in two days. He had been producing huge kidney stones for years and having only one kidney, that was not a good position to be in.
Safe journey and I hope all goes well.

I too am another, who can't cope with mountain roads. We were once on a coach to Guadalest and I had the window seat. Everything we turned a corner, I was convinced the bus was going over the edge.
To make matters worse, we had to keep stopping, because the were using explosives to widen parts of the road.
The worst thing is that you have to make the return journey! 😱

Good morning from a bright and sunnySuffolk. Not sure if it is due to last but it’s nice having my first cuppa in a sunny sitting room.

Am going to try and get a new iPhone today. Mine ,several years old, won’t retain our home WiFi even when I’m sitting next to the router but has done so when in Bristol, or on holiday in various places. I ate having to get anything new apart from clothes and books. I’m a bit of a creature of habit and don’t mind how old things are as long as they work. Changing my car…..no thank you.

I hope that those with concerns about their health or that of others find some comfort today.

Good morning all from a sunny Black country after overnight rain.
My view on opening garden door this morning a lovely rainbow.
Mick take it easy today and have plenty of fluids.
Safe journeys Ash & Greyduster and anybody else on the move.
Local shops today with a trip to the bank then home to the ironing.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning all from sunny East Yorkshire.

I’m lying here in bed deciding what to do with my day. Listening to Scala radio and just heard the sad news one of the presenters has died at only 57. What a shock I was only listening to his show on Sunday. It’s a musicals one that I really enjoy. It really does bring home to seize the day and all that.

Sending good wishes for olddd and a successful outcome.

Grandmabatty Wed 30-Aug-23 08:18:23

Sago your journey is one of my nightmares! I couldn't do it as I have no head for heights. The Amalfi coast is another nono. MerylStreep I have a phobia about bridges! My friends reckon I'm a witch as apparently they can't cross running water. My DD had to talk me over the bridge at Perth each time I took her to university at Dundee. Going back without her was awful.

Good morning from a sunny NE but it must be cool as the heating is on again.
Yesterday was a day of bits and bobs, next door's palm tree always drops it's leaves into my garden and the birds have been foraging in the patio pots.
Had to clean the kitchen windows because a seagull, I think, splattered them from top to bottom. The guest bathroom window is the same but I can't reach that.
DD and SIL are coming today and we will go shopping, it has been lovely to have DD in the UK for two weeks but she has to work from home tomorrow and Friday.
Safe journey Ashcombe and best wishes for your DH.
Have a good day all.

Good morning from Sefton where the sky is brightening and sunshine is taking over.
Some delightful photos appear this morning; what an adorable quilt you have made Grandmattie. Playing with my DGC and later putting in more winter bedding plants will keep me busy today.
My thoughts are of those struggling, my wishes that everyone has the best day possible.

Liberty Google your problem, there are things you can do to check your phone, even a reset might cure your problem? I had the same problem with mine a few weeks ago, it turns out that I had pressed the VPN and it cut out my home wifi, (don’t know why as it’s installed on my iPad ok) anyway, turned it off and voila! Good as new.

Something strange happened, the text box was empty, but the post had previewed! A sure sign my novella was too long.

We had a very happy day in Ayr yesterday, the sun shone, the food was lovely and DH and his friend reminisced about their days in the County buildings, which overlooks the sea, only a few yards away.
Much to my surprise, DH asked if I would like to visit TkMaxx over the river. You bet I did!
We spent ages talking to the lovely train guard, with her offering suggestions of other train journeys for us. She laughed, when we said we had done most of them. The other passengers joined in, so time passed very pleasantly.

While in the restaurant, my phone rang, it was the PP. Now he never phones my mobile. It was to inform me that the Bishop had just announced that we have a new assistant priest and I could I put it on the website.
It meant that when I went home, instead of collapsing and having a snooze, I had to figure out how to amend the front page of the website, for I hadn't a clue!

A day of doing nothing planned. I obviously overdid things. During the night I awoke with a very strange feeling ling in my chest, very similar to the one I had with my last heart attack. I did get a bit of a fright, but thankfully it passed.

I always love standing on the Auld Brig and looking towards the sea.

Enjoy your trips everyone and love to all, who are struggling.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy and grey
Safe journey Ash today and tomorrow and hope DH does ok on Monday
Hope you enjoy your time away greyduster when you get there
A busy day today, it’s the gym this morning for the tough circuits class 😳 then a much easier dance class and to round it all off a dip in the pool. Once that’s all done it’s a relaxing afternoon with coffee and my pal catching up on all our news.
Take care on those roads Sago!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

grandMattie Wed 30-Aug-23 08:27:58

Oops, I am removing a wall, to the “silly cupboard”. But it is only a stud wall, nothing structural or dangerous, so why the delay, especially as verbal permission had been granted on 13 July?

Sar53 Wed 30-Aug-23 08:29:22

Good morning from the Essex coast where it is bright and sunny at the moment.
DH has gone to an early hospital appointment, I hope he gets parked ok.
His two daughters were both caught up in the plane fiasco but home safely now.
I have the minutes to type up from our Management company AGM last night, it shouldn't take too long.
Safe journey Ash and best wishes to Olddudders.
Have a great Wednesday everyone xxx

Good morning everyone it’s a dull start to the day here on the east coast of Fife, however that won’t stop me going out to get a McDonald’s for lunch. I do so love them along with a mcflurrie ice cream.
Lovely photo Marydoll

Have a good day everyone

Urmstongran Wed 30-Aug-23 08:41:52

Good morning from a sunny and bright Algarve, the early mornings are the only time of day that you can tell that Autumn is coming, there’s definitely a difference in the air.

I’m sorry that you’re having problems Mick , I hope it settles down soon. Sorry you’re having problems too gMattie. I think your DD is quite right to write a strongly worded letter to them and hope it has a prompt result. I love your Autumn leaf square.

We had our colonoscopies on Monday, thank you for the good wishes Auntie Flo and Blossoming. Nephew was nowhere near well enough to drive us but still won’t see a doctor and the chap on stand by was nowhere to be found. So in the end we got an Uber there, it was the first time we’ve phoned for one ourselves and I was worried he wouldn’t find the house but he did and got us there smoothly despite the heavy traffic in Faro, all for about 30euros.

The procedures were straightforward, the whole process like a well oiled machine right down to the cup of tea afterwards.
Mine was clear but when the doctor told me he added that they had found that DH has a small tumour that would have to be investigated. DH seems completely unworried by it all, apparently he was told that they had taken a section for biopsy and it would be at least 15 days before he heard anything. He seems to have accepted that without his usual health anxiety setting in.
No Ubers to be found afterwards so we had to walk as far as the station for a taxi. ( twice the price but a very helpful and good driver.)

Unfortunately my thin skinned shins were knocked sometime during the procedure and the dressings that the clinic nurse put on damaged my skin even more, so yesterday I had to visit our own surgery for them to be removed and new ones put on. I’ve got to return on Thursday for them to be changed. I now have my right leg bandaged from ankle to knee! I hope by tomorrow that they will have shrunk enough so that I can have waterproof dressings put on instead.

Good morning Mick and all from a bright start - but becoming less so - on the Angus coast where the breeze coming out of the north is bearing snow, I swear! Brrrr.
Sorry you're not so well today Mick, so take it easy today. What a horrid start to your day.
Your description of that drive has brought me out in 'ducky bumps' of sympathy Sago - but the photo is greatly appreciated 😉. What an almost primeval place. And you certainly are experiencing - and sharing - everything. Thank you.
Lovely patchwork grandmattie. And I hope your DD's stiff letter has an effect on the Junta - little people feeling the power! I'd find it difficult to live with that.
What a wonderful thing is Zoom, Foxy, bringing family together from across the globe like that. So sorry about your sister - that must have been hard to see. Just keep hold of those happier memories.
Grandmabatty good luck with today. I'm exhausted just reading about it.
Safe travels today and tomorrowAsh and I trust all will go well for Olddudders.
Yesterday's tai chi went well - although I got someone different to take the lead corner and the final set did descend into chaos and much laughter! I then had a number of things to do along the High Street which involved much walking and steep stair climbing so that, after 'one of those nights' of little sleep, by the time I got home I was totally exhausted. Oh for the stamina of yesteryear!
Today I'm off to get my hair trimmed and tidied and then a catch-up lunch with Dancing GD and my niece. I hope my hearing aids will cope!
Have a good day everyone x

dustyangel Wed 30-Aug-23 08:50:46

So many postings since I started my screed. I’m looking forward to catching up with you all later.

Grammaretto Wed 30-Aug-23 08:57:08

Lovely Urms
Thanks for the rainbow monk, Ayr looking great Marydoll and ginny you look quite hmm uncomfortable.

The trees are coming down now so I may get to yarn group after all.

Georgesgran Wed 30-Aug-23 09:00:11

Good morning from Durham. The grass is damp, but the sky a brilliant blue. Not much on today - coffee with a friend at some point and a dog walk early evening. He was at the groomer yesterday, so I’ll try to keep him clean. He’s no bother, but I’m not attached to him, as I was to his predecessor - I do miss that daft dog.
Hoping all Doctor appointments go well today.
Best wishes to all. X

EkwaNimitee Wed 30-Aug-23 09:01:42

Good morning Mick and everyone from currently sunny Carlisle.
Hope that was a temporary setback Mick.

I had good news yesterday. Before I started my round of chivvying, I rang the underwriters for my holiday insurance which had been suspended while I awaited my ECG and result. I was clear but the hospital and consultant are being slow in sending written confirmation (not slow to take the money!). To my delight, the underwriters are taking my word for it and have promptly restored the insurance. I shall still be chasing up that report if it doesn't arrive soon.

Today, the ironing awaits and various other little jobs.

One of your best quilts grandMattie and I hope your DD's letter gets results.
Have a good trip Ashcombe and good luck to Olddudders.

Matt made me laugh Urmston, good to see you posting him again.

And have a good day all of you.

Gingster Wed 30-Aug-23 09:11:00

Good morning and it’s fairly bright here in Essex.
Dh has gone fishing so no car for me. I’ll walk up to Mass and then on up the v steep hill 🥵 to the market in town.
Iced coffee and a toasted tea cake in our lovely little tearooms, and a run back down the hill.

Ash hope your journey and olddudders biopsy goes well. 🙏
GM so frustrating for you!
Rose disappointing for you. So many towns and cities are like this now.😢.
Love the costume Ginny.
Foxy so sad that you had to see your DS like that. 💔.
Try to remember her how she was.

I know just how you feel with the husband drivers. I’m a quivering wreck just getting out of our road. 🫣.

Hope the day goes well for you all 🌻

mamaa Wed 30-Aug-23 09:15:33

Morning all, up early (for me) today as I've got a day of beautifying ahead grin
1st stop is the hairdressers for a trim, for some reason my hair always grows really quickly in the summer, followed by eyelash and brow tint at the beauticians.
I'll be even more gorgeous by the time they've finished, haha wink
Hope all can have a good as day as is possible with some sunshine ☀ thrown in for good measure.x

monk08 Wed 30-Aug-23 09:22:03

Thanks for the laugh Urms hope your feeling brighter and your cold has cleared thinking of you and himself as always.💐

Liberty Wed 30-Aug-23 09:24:35

Thank you Oopsdaisy1 for your suggestion which I’ll try in a minute. Like you WiFi is fine on my iPad and remains on it so I know it’s not a problem with the router and DH’s phone, tablet and lap top remain firmly attached to WiFi. ( Embarassing to think of how many bits of technology we have between us!).
