Good Morning Everyone,
Its light and its dry here in brackley at the present moment.
Todays plans my usual trip to Bicester , a coffee and sarnie today methinks .
Later watch the Vuelta on TV as the race unfolds .
Take Care,
Mick

Morning all

I had a really good day yesterday, my darling sister, BiL and their two girls came down, we spent the afternoon on our nearest beach, they went off to Adventure Island for a couple of hours. DH and I came home and ordered a Chinese takeaway for when they returned to us. They left at 11pm guided home by the supermoon
(They should have been here the day before but had to delay)

I will change the bed today, make a shopping list and potter.

(((Hugs))) for Kalu & Urmstongran

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Lovely to see you posting Kalu.

Grandmabatty I am so pleased that a decision has been made about your mum’s future care and that it is the decision you wanted.A weight off your mind.

Good morning Mick and all from a bright start on the Angus coast. Glad you're obviously feeling better again Mick.
I had a lovely time yesterday catching up with Dancing GD, my niece and my great-niece, as well as getting my hair cut. Lovely chat with lovely people in lovely sunshine. An indifferent meal, though that didn't matter!
Great pic of the moon Pittcity. I was too tired to notice it last night, but I did on Monday night. Because of cloudy night skies for most of the past month I hadn't seen it for ages. It was certainly huge and bright - I though at first there was someone outside shining a bright light through my windows!
Today is Tai chi again, followed by my usual visit to the fish shop. After an unusually busy few days I shall then be very happy to put my feet up!
Good wishes to all the grandchildren excitedly returning to school this week. Our local schools are into their third week back now - hence the lovely weather!
Have a lovely day everyone x

Morning Mick, morning All from a very soggy corner of Somerset.

Sadly no moon view last night, heavy cloud blocking it out. More settled here too, adjustments made and Mr C less likely to fret on the not so good days. I’ve banned the ‘this is where you should be on week xxx’ booklets. Recovery takes as long as it takes.

Emergency dental appointment for Mr C at lunch time, a crown became dislodged. We’re hoping it can simply be fixed back as invasive dental treatment wouldn’t be be such a good idea just now.

Some beautiful photos here. Always enjoy seeing them. Safe journey ash and all on the move. Special thoughts to everyone finding life hard going. Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

Marydoll Thu 31-Aug-23 08:15:43

Kalu, I was just thinking about you earlier. Lovely to see you posting. 💕💕💕💕

Beechnut Thu 31-Aug-23 08:15:37

Good morning everyone from a grey and wet Severnside.
I looked out for the moon last night. It was cloudy so I wasn’t able to see it properly.

I think I’ll stay in today and do some cleaning and admin tidying. My brother may call by later.

Have a good day all and safe travels to all that will be 🪷

Susan56 Thu 31-Aug-23 08:13:27

Good morning from Shropshire. After a lovely sunny day yesterday we have rain forecast all day today.

Today will be a quiet day before a busy September.Another season of life starts as H starts at the school nursery next week so after eight years we won’t be doing long days of childcare.I had thought life would be quieter but so far September and the start of October are looking pretty busy.

Karma I am giving my guitar to DGD tomorrow. My fingers are not strong enough to play anymore.Music has been my life long love.I played piano, violin, guitar, clarinet and treble recorder.I am down now to piano and treble recorder.A big job for the winter will be sorting out all the music books.

I hope the rest of your journey goes well Ash and safe travels to all on the move.

Have the best day you can everybody🌺🦩

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and bright. Yesterday was a lovely day apart from a sudden shower in the evening. My phone meeting with a lawyer was successful in the morning and she's going to send out a written version of my will and poa. Then I'll meet her in the office. In the afternoon I met the hospital social worker who is of the view that mum will require nursing so a nursing home is what she needs. It's a huge weight of my mind. She gave me masses of information about nursing homes, including a list of those in the area so I shall research them.
Today I'm going to my art tutor's house for a private showing of her latest works. There will be a number of us. In addition, she's being filmed for a documentary and the bbc are coming along. It's all very exciting. Some of us may be interviewed as part of the documentary, although I doubt I'll be picked. I'm not particularly photogenic. Anyway, I'm looking forward to it. Then home for a light dinner. Have a good day all

Good Morning from a damp Killarney, last day of our holiday ,
We have had a lovely time with lovely weather good food and plenty of craic !
It rained in the night but looks like it’s drying up

Kalu Thu 31-Aug-23 08:09:15

Good morning all from, at last, a sunny Glasgow.

Our new normal life is more settled now and DH is doing comparatively well.

The super moon was indeed spectacular last night and I took a few pics to share with GDs who missed it. As the sun has finally arrived I plan to spend the day in my favourite place, in the garden pottering about which for me, is the best therapy.

Have a good day all and sending special thoughts to those of you going through troubling times, I hope you have a better day.

Marydoll Thu 31-Aug-23 08:08:48

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where its only 6°C.
You sound chirpier, Mick.

I was wakened during the night by an almighty noise, the police helicopter hovering over our house. I was convinced it was on the roof! 🤣 DH, of course heard nothing!!!!!

I did very little yesterday, it was the afternoon before I felt a bit better. However, I did fill yet another bag for the charity shop with clothes, which no longer fit. My heart and lung issues mean I am looking rather bloated, and too tight, almost new clothes, make me resemble the Michelin man more and more! I long for deflation! 😔
I have always been reluctant to let things go, in the hope things will improve, but I must be ruthless. There is no possibility of the clothes ever fitting again!

It"s lovely to see my pal, Nan Kate posting once more on the the GM thread.
Safe journey Ash ( You are brave, I couldn't do that drive), and for all on holiday, enjoy. GD, we had many happy holidays in a lodge at Filey, when our children were young.

Have a good day folks, we are looking after Babydoll, while DS and DIL go to a matinee. I am a nervous wreck, worrying I may have lost my touch. 😉

Jaxjacky Thu 31-Aug-23 08:05:15

Oh, sorry, have a calm journey across ‘La Manche’ Ashcombe.

Foxygloves Thu 31-Aug-23 08:05:07

Good morning from Foxyland where I am not at all sure what weather we have in store. It is fine now but with a lot of high cloud.
Yesterdays book group bbq was lovely and we didn’t get up from the table until after 4! My frozen gelato dessert went down well with its chocolate and Kahlua sauce and we served it with fresh raspberries and blueberries.
(I still can’t find the packet of meringue nests though 🙄)
Today I am having my first shockwave treatment for my PF. Typically, it has eased recently and I’ve actually had two nearly pain-free days but I’m going ahead with it anyway.
I plan to rest it this afternoon as I may have a lot of walking in the next few days, Norfolk on a Saturday, Les Troyens at the Proms on Sunday and the Harry Potter experience with 4 of the GC (and their mummies) on Monday.
I feel exhausted just thinking about it!
Kind thoughts to all who are in pain or distress and warm wishes to you all for a pleasant day.

Jaxjacky Thu 31-Aug-23 08:02:50

Morning from a damp S Hants, rain due most of the day. Enjoy the air show NanKate we get some of the planes over this way, I’ll be listening out, weather should be perfect.
I’m enjoying your trip Sago thank you.
Yesterday was tedious waiting in for a delivery that had to be handed over, it eventually turned up.
Not much on today, lasagna to make later.
Very good to see Matt yesterday courtesy of Urms 🦩.

Liberty Thu 31-Aug-23 08:02:17

Good morning from a sunny autumnal feeling Suffolk.

Off to my stretch class this morning and then meeting up with 3 friends for lunch at a fish restaurant which has a good reputation locally. They say in their blurb that they focus on local produce but with red snapper on the menu I’m not so sure!

Good to see Urms posting Matt’s morning cartoon yesterday. Hoping there is a little sunshine for those today bowed down with illness or worries.

Oopsadaisy1 ….tried your helpful phone tip yesterday, reset my phone and all well. Thank you. The helpfulness of GN.

Gala Thu 31-Aug-23 08:00:38

Good morning from a cool & dull Sefton. It was bright & sunny an hour ago.
Have had a run of very disturbed nights this weeks so no plans for today as I'm so tired. Will visit the fish man this morning as that will sort tea for today & tomorrow. A s l o w day will follow
Thoughts with everyone finding life difficult at the moment.

monk08 Thu 31-Aug-23 07:56:52

Good morning all from a very dull Black country.
Ash I laughed at your room 101 mention, hope your journey today is not fraught with any delays.
Shopping today and then we have a carvery booked for later so no cooking yippee.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Gwenisgreat Thu 31-Aug-23 07:50:31

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Sounds like normal service resumed Mick
Glad you have got the gardeners doing what they are supposed to do GrandMattie. That is some fantastic holiday Sago. We did visit Ronda many years ago, I still remember the stunning bridge over a valley?
Yesterday we had two men round to tell us the solar panels were not working as they should, at least they were not expecting to fix them at an astronomical price.
Today, Sainsburies delivery, then I go to the hairdresser, when I get back I have DGS. This evening it’s zooming my sisters
Have the best day possible folks

Sar53 Thu 31-Aug-23 07:46:31

Good morning from a bright and breezy Essex coast.
Food shopping first thing then admin.
Almost 12 year old granddaughter starts secondary school next week but a couple of hours settling in today. She has recently been prescribed glasses and DD1 sent a picture of her yesterday with her glasses, her hair cut and in her new school uniform. She looks so grown up and not like my C at all. I wish her and all DGC who are setting off to new schools my very best wishes.
Have a great day everyone xx

brook2704 Thu 31-Aug-23 07:45:14

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Inverness
Safe journey Ash
Great picture of the moon pittcity
I’m going to take DH into the gym this morning on a free guest pass as the swimming and exercise machines are all good for his new knee. After that a bit of shopping and then hopefully I’ll be in the garden most of the afternoon.
Enjoy your holiday in Bournemouth nankate and the air show - sounds good
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

BlueSapphire Thu 31-Aug-23 07:42:42

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton; better make the most of it as rain is forecast this afternoon.

I have some men coming this morning to give me a quote for repairing/replacing fencing. Yesterday the plumber came and removed the old hose from the shower, fixed the wobbly loo, and said I just needed to get a new hose to attach to the current shower fitment, and said it would be easy to do. So yesterday afternoon I took the hose back to the shop we sourced our bathroom fittings from, and they supplied what I wanted - and also assured me it would be easy to fit..... we shall see. I shall have a go after the fencing men have been.

A Sainsbury's delivery after that, an early lunch, and then my two dance classes. Will make a chilli this afternoon, if Sainsbury's deliver the mince and a tin of kidney beans.

Greyduster, my youngest DSis lives just outside Filey, in Hunmanby, and it is indeed lovely up there.

Wishing all a good Thursday.

Grammaretto Thu 31-Aug-23 07:41:34

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
A nice day with an autumn chill in the air.
Yesterday the 3 dead elms came down as I sat with my knitting and watched. Like the tricoteuses.
It's all been left very tidy. A pile of logs and mulch.
Safe journey Ash, sago and my young helper who is off on a bus to Devon to her next host.
Wishing you all a happy day.

Pittcity Thu 31-Aug-23 07:39:20

Good morning from Colchester. There is blue sky visible between the wispy clouds and the maximum temperature today will be 18°.
Thursday is housework day. I need to make up DS's bed as he'll be home tonight for the weekend.
I took this photo of the moon last night with my phone camera and it's not too bad.
Love to all 🦩 x

Gingster Thu 31-Aug-23 07:35:13

Good morning all and it’s ok at the moment. Rain later.
I missed the Super moon. 😤. Forgot to look out .

Had a busy , productive day yesterday while Dh was out fishing. I get so much done when he’s out.

Cleared out my cupboards and drawers and have a large sack for the charity shop.
I don’t have a lot of clothes or shoes - hate shopping Marydoll 🤣. Dh has loads more than me - only wears the same old things - but will not throw anything out.

Bowls club for me this morning and maybe a dog walk by the river this afternoon, weather permitting.

Take care Ash you are a very brave lady. Hope the journey goes well.

Hoping your days are ‘good’ ones 🌻
