Good Morning Everyone,
Its light and its dry here in brackley at the present moment.
Todays plans my usual trip to Bicester , a coffee and sarnie today methinks .
Later watch the Vuelta on TV as the race unfolds .
Take Care,

Just popped back in to read all the posts I didn't have time to read this morning, and it was so lovely to see you posting Kalu and that Mr Kalu is comfortable. I hope you enjoyed your garden time x

Welcome back Kalu 👋

Good morning, while it still is. Heavy rain has arrived in West Sussex but I did see the blue moon on my way to bed at 1am.
I’m glad to see you are recovered, Mick. We had a lovely weekend at Greenbelt Festival (near Kettering) but DH has brought Covid back with him - it is the first time it has visited our household. He is coughing hideously and has a fever but says he doesn’t feel too bad. I will miss my book group tomorrow and it was my choice of book 🙁. On Monday we should be conveying DGD’s bedding, tv and other essentials, to Salford while her parents convey her and her vast clothing collection in their car. On Tuesday we are due at a caravan site south of Edinburgh where I have a meet-up with my flat mates from student days. I cannot catch Covid 😨

I am enjoying hearing, and seeing, all the travels, from Filey to the Med via Andalusia, and back by Killarney. Sorry it’s not been such a rewarding holiday for you and your DH, Baubles.

It’s good to hear from Kalu and Urms and that decisions are being made for your mum Grandmabatty.

Sad to hear of music being given up but good when the next generation are taking up the baton (/accordion/guitar).

I have had to cancel today’s coffee with one friend and lunch with another so I will make another attempt at decluttering, following the excellent examples of Marydoll and Grandmattie. It took me nearly an hour to clear a space in the spare bedroom to unfold the sofa bed so that I could sleep away from DH’s coughing and germ spreading, last night.

Hope all plans for today go well.

Kalu Thu 31-Aug-23 11:31:58

It’s so warming to read such welcoming messages of support.
You’re simply the best, thank you.

My thoughts are with you, your sister and her DH Baubles ♥️

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
A day of bits and pieces yesterday, appointment with Doc to check moles. She thinks ok, but will refer me. Then I returned a top to Primarni and found the satin black midi skirt I had had my eye on, only one left, so pleased with that. Then to health shop for milk thistle for my wayward stomach.
Don’t know if it helps, but still take it. After that I strangely fancied a Kentucky fried chicken when passing the shop. Enjoyed it, but they are horrid places.

Went out to see the moon, but cloudy…
Quiet day and thoughts to Urms Kalu, all with troubles and Bon Voyage Ash

Scapa1 Thu 31-Aug-23 10:54:42

Still dry here in Dunblane but very dull. Good to see you posting Kalu. I am sure you will not have lost your touch Marydoll enjoy the cuddles. Quiet day yesterday just a trip to M&S for some bits and pieces. GD2 came in after school and will do so again today as these are the days we look after her after school. She is Primary 6 now and basically is no bother. As we have done some childcare for her since she was a baby she knows where everything is and helps herself, she does ask first though! She loves doing crafty things unlike her older sister who has no patience at all. Not much else planned today but will footer about probably shifting things from one place to another. Hope all the poorlies have a better day.

Good morning all from sunny Mallorca.

Groundhog Day again as I type from the poolside. This kind of holiday is completely alien to us and we are trying to adjust. DH is slowly recovering from his chest infection but has no energy and my vertigo caused me to visit a pharmacy where I was able to buy betahistamine which is helping a little. A right pair we are!

So lovely to see Kalu and Urms posting.

My dear sister’s husband is today undergoing the first of what may be several surgeries now that his chemo has been paused. Difficult times for them.

Thinking of everyone struggling with illness or worries.

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire. A mild 15°C.

Another good night’s sleep, today I need to do a little laundry and hopefully get out for a walk.

Safe journey Ash.

Lovely to see you Kalu.

Well done sorting out your will and poa Grandmabatty, glad the situation with your mother is going the right way.

As always thinking of all dealing with troubles.

Have a good day all whatever you’re doing🌻

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 31-Aug-23 10:06:10

Good morning it’s cold and wet here today, I was literally awake all night, not sure why but I went to sleep some time after 6.15 am, my plans of gardening all day thwarted by the weather and feeling like a wet dishcloth.
Good to see kalu and urms posting, hugs to you both and your DHs.
Have a good day everyone, safe travels, fun times for those on holiday and hugs for anyone in need and let’s hope it stops raining soon.

Grandmabatty Thu 31-Aug-23 09:36:37

Grammaretto thank you. It's true. I feel like an elastic band some days! Fortunately I'm quite resilient.

Grammaretto Thu 31-Aug-23 09:19:26

Good to see Urms and Kalu with slightly better news
Thinking of you all.
Also grandmabatty who is being pulled in all directions but hopefully light at the end of the tunnel.

Good morning from a bright W Kent. I met with a DF yesterday to go to our usual small teashop only to find it had closed and had a sign up selling all the furniture, we ended up in our local Civic Centre which has a small coffee area. Today I am off to drink tea, do I do anything else?, with a lovely lady from my art group.
Very good to hear from Urmston and Kalu.
Enjoy your time with Babydoll, Marydoll
Glad the gardening got done gM,
Safe crossing Ashcombe
Best wishes to all.

Good morning from a bright West York's. We had a lovely view of the blue moon last night. We are deciding what to do today a lot of places are out due to my mobility .I have finally bought an air fryer will need a good recipe book any suggestions would be appreciated.
Typically I got appt to see orthopaedic consultant for when we are away hope I get another one soon .

harrigran Thu 31-Aug-23 09:08:20

Good morning from a sunny NE.
The moon was spectacular when I went to bed last night, took a photo with my phone but it did not capture it the way I thought it would.
A day to myself today so will wrap GD's birthday gifts, not very exciting but what she wants, H&M gift card and a book of piano music. I bought a bubble tea set so she can create her own. Both GDs love coffee shops and tearooms.
Lovely to see Urmston posting, you are in my thoughts.
Have a good day all.

GrannySomerset Thu 31-Aug-23 09:05:03

Sorry, Marydoll -am losing the plot! DH used to sing to GD1 when she was teething - and she still, and turned out to be a musician,

Stilllearning Thu 31-Aug-23 09:04:21

Morning from S Lanarkshire, no time to write much but just want to say hello to Kalu, I’ve thought about you a lot and very happy that things are a little better for you and your DH just now.

Also wonderful to see Matt and Urms again today. Prayers for both of you and all others who need them, at mass as soon as I get there!

Kalu Thu 31-Aug-23 09:02:19

Urms. You are always in my thoughts. xx

Georgesgran Thu 31-Aug-23 09:00:26

Good morning from a glorious Durham. So still and warm, I’ve had my tea outside.
Coffee this morning with an old colleague. A bit disappointed that it’s been downgraded from lunch, but she has her hands full childminding for her DD - 3 under 5!
Chiropodist appointment later.
DD2 flies back today and has just sent that she’s on the flight to Aberdeen, but they’ll drop her off at Newcastle!! Not by parachute, I hope!
Little Dog to walk tonight again.
Hope all journeys go smoothly today and our poorlies get the love and care they deserve.
Best wishes to all X

Good morning everyone from a grey and damp Oxfordshire. Think it will improve as the day goes on.

A busy couple of days in Oxford going around the museums and walking around admiring the lovely buildings. Weather has been good and we have seen some fascinating things in the museums and exhibitions.

Today we are off to Witney to find out about the wool trade and then to William Morris’s Kelmscott Manor later this afternoon.

Tomorrow we leave Oxfordshire and move onto North Wales via Shropshire. We are staying near Abergele for a week.

Hope you all have a good day

Marydoll Thu 31-Aug-23 08:48:42

Grannysomerset, it's Babydoll, we have today, this is the first time that we will have had her on her own and she is teething!
Dollie is at school and is staying overnight on Saturday. She will be looking after me! 😉

GMBatty, I'm so pleased to hear your mum will be getting the support she needs. I was in the same position as you. My mother was never the easiest of people to be with, so it was a difficult journey.
However, much to my surprise, she mellowed and responded well to being in care.

Urmstongran Thu 31-Aug-23 08:46:16

Good morning everybody. Here’s Matt.
👋 Kalu I’m glad to hear things are more stable.
x

Grandmabatty Thu 31-Aug-23 08:43:32

Thank you Susan and Grannysomerset We are waiting for psych services to assess her as to her mental capabilities but her physical capability is poor. She also suffers from depression, dementia and cognitive impairment but it needs to be formally diagnosed by the psych team before decisions can be made. I'm very happy with her care at the moment. The community hospital are looking after her really well.

EkwaNimitee Thu 31-Aug-23 08:40:03

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.

No blue moon here last night, after a clear sky all day it clouded over at sunset and that was it all night. Sky is clear now though!

Yesterday, I waited in for a delivery Royal Mail had said was due but that the consignor had said would come today. Obviously the latter had it right so another day of hanging about when I need to go into town. Hopefully it will turn up this morning. I have to be in as it needs signing for.

Apart from that, I'll do a few minor jobs today and continue with a bit of clothes sorting.

Enjoy the day everyone.

GrannySomerset Thu 31-Aug-23 08:33:21

Grey and damp but as I have the hairdresser and the U3A book group this morning it doesn’t affect my plans today. Too much activity to comment on, but all noted. Bon voyage, Ash, happy Dollie entertaining, Marydoll, hope Gbatty can find the right nursing home for her mum and that the day’s plans work out for everyone.
