What has survived in your garden with minimal or no watering?
Burnham to tell schools in England to adapt teaching to local business needs- what do you think?
Good Morning Everyone ,
A dark start but its dry outside , looks like we could be in for a hot week weather wise.
Today , plan to do Bicester ,and then watch the tour of Britain bike race around a favourite part of NE Wales at Wrexham , and its surrounding scenery .
Take Care,
Mick
You are all so wonderfully kind and thoughtful. Thank you.
I’ll think about bringing in my solicitor re. Asbestos. She is still fiddling about with my lease extension.
Ash hope all goes well for olddudders today and he is back with you soon.
Susan56 thanks for that when he finally gets a bed there we will take his wife to visit as she doesn't drive.
GM I have PM’d you.
Oops, it probably has brought back sad memories, I too apologise.
We need to support our friends on this thread, hence the digression.
Good morning from Staffordshire where a sunny day is forecast.
We were up at 4.45 today to drive over here to look after DGS1 who has a PD day.I drove here so DH will drive home, I will probably sleeep!
We are just a couple of miles away from the Orthopaedic hospital at Gobowen monk so if you want any local information let me know.
Thinking of you and your grandson grandMattie💐
Hope all goes well for olddudders today Ash, thinking of you both🙏🏻
Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩
So sorry to have derailed a gentle thread this morning folks.
Sometimes it’s difficult to sit on my hands.

GM sorry but no disturbed Asbestos is ok.
It has to be surveyed by an expert, removed by experts.
If the property sellers know of Asbestos in the property they have to inform the potential buyer, I notice that you thought that was why they dragged their feet in giving you permission? If they knew about it and didn’t tell you ( or the other homeowners on your site) then they could be in big trouble. Of course if there is Asbstos in your property I imagine that they will have to tell the other owners about it? Unlikely that it is just in one floor.
Sorry, but they need to treat it and you safely.
Good point Oopsadaisy both that the vendors should have informed GM as purchaser, and that the management company must bear some liability for what sounds like exceedingly dodgy dealing.
But finally that if it is in one flat, the chances are that it is others or communal areas and many more residents may be affected.
Time to bring out some big guns - don’t you have a tame legal friend or solicitor eg among D’s congregation, @GM ?
A late good morning from a warm and sunny Sarthe but, in my defence, I have already been to Le Mans and back! We left here at 6.00 BST so DH could check in for his thyroid operation, scheduled for mid morning.
It feels odd to be here alone although I’ve experienced it before and we had horses to care for then. Life is easier these days, thankfully, with just cats to feed. Unless something serious emerges, he should be home tomorrow.
Thinking of the sadness of today for grandMattie; you’ve been through a lot in the last two years.
Today is back to school/work day here; good luck to all returning pupils and teachers - I hope you have a building fit to use!
🦩💐😎🥰🦩
Oops we had it in the ceilings in my school. It was a major job to remove it safely. Parts of the school were closed off and much of the work done in the holidays.
I am so sorry to hear about your parents. 💐A friend's doctor, a hospital consultant died from it, after being exposed to it in the hospital she worked.
GM, I'm sure the management team will take all precautions.
Morning from a bright S Hants.
Welcome Nanatoone.
gMattie a poignant day for you.
Hope you feel better as the day goes on llfl.
Back on the voluntary phone today, I’ll get a walk in early before the heat, quiz tonight.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Good morning from a sweltering Cornwall, aaaaargh.
gM, I remember that day very well. Thinking of you.
Today I'm off to Asda to buy pillows for their inside stuffing plus the outer fabric to make small cartoon cuddle pillows for our next allotment fundraiser. Then home to hide inside and sew.
Yesterday my rockpool-obsessed son and grandson found a semi-suburban beach where discoveries were a tad smaller than the coastal rockpools.
See pic.
llfl hope you feel better soon.
Welcome Nannatoone 👋 my younger grandson starts reception this week as well.
Good morning from a sunny Black Country. Typical now DD is back at school, and the children go back tomorrow!
Such a lovely warm day yesterday, we BBQ'd Sea Bream, and were sat outside again until 10pm again. We had orginally booked to go to Weymouth in the caravan this week, but for various reasons postponed it until July next year. Who would have thought the weather would be so good this week!
Eldest (19) DGD started University in April for a Nursing Degree. Today she starts her first placement in a Hospital. An exciting but probably nerve wracking day for her.
Monday morning health walk today.
gM thinking of you today
A quick Good morning from a lovey warm N. Bucks.
Off to DD3s in an hour to watch DGS2 while DD takes the little one for his introductory hour at misery where he will now be each Tuesday and Thursday morning ,
A few jobs t to do later and then I shall enjoy the promised sunshine.
Kind thoughts to all.
Good morning all from another bright day in Harrogate today.
Another here who has lots of happy memories of Wales, both parents were from around the Llandudno area, where we still visit regularly.
GrandMattie
you’ve had so much change in your life in the past two years, more than most.
Today my chat with my school friend we put Scotland to rights. Then after lunch a much needed visit to a podiatrist who will make my feet more comfortable for our trip to Scarborough later this week.
Have the best day possible folks
Good morning from a glorious South Downs.
Set hot today, so I need to clear away the detritus from yesterdays jollification, polish the dining table, take down the decorations and relax in the sun!! - well actually the shade.
I love the light this time of year, the colour in the garden is being added to by the asters - so purple and lilacs and is probably at its most colourful as the roses are in their second flush, but the Delphs haven’t flowered twice this year.
gm a sad day. Losing a child is the worse I think.
llf get well soon.
Peace and harmony to all
I’m sorry about that, Oops, they haven’t but I don’t think the asbestos is very serious. Was added to the cement and, basically, they’re supervising any drilling into the floor cement, as far as I know! But..l
A very sad anniversary for you today grandMattie. Your son Philip indeed left this world too soon. I hope your dear grandson is coping in his grief. 💐
x
Good Morning everyone from sunny Severnside. No clouds.
I finished my painting yesterday and have the room back to normal. The windows need a clean but I will leave that until next week.
Today I’m going to Lidl for a few things, wash the bedding and just faff around with anything else I want to do.
Thinking of you Mattie 💐
Enjoy the sunshine all 🌞
Welcome Nannatoone
Good morning it’s a beautiful, sunny morning, another good day I hope. MrOops has taken the car to the garage and I have to mow the lawn, do some washing and that’s it. I now have Kinde Unlimited so plenty of books to read.
Apart from dog walking that is my day.
GM a sad day for you, but I realise sadness isnt confined to one day.
Have they explained to you how they will sort out your Asbestos problem? Will you have to vacate ? It’s a horrid product, I lost both of my parents to Asbestosis, so it isn’t something to be underestimated.
Have a good day everyone, if you are travelling enjoy the scenery and if you are at home ditto!
Good morning, this is my first visit here though I’ve been on gransnet for a while now. I’m taking the GCs to school today, the little one is part time this week as he’s just going into reception. Not sure I’m keen on the early starts again. Lovely day ahead though.
Good morning all and I’m NOT looking forward to the heat this week. I love September so I’m miffed ! It will drain me! 🥵.
Yesterday I went swimming with ds1 and family . It was cool and refreshing. I certainly knew that I hadn’t swum for a good while and found it hard going. We then went into the spa and got hot again. 🤣. I really enjoyed it and we’re going again next Sunday.
Nothing much on today, just shopping and a dog walk. We’ll change the beds and do a bit more clipping of shrubs.
GM a sad day for you. So much has happened in those two years. 💐.
Take care 🌻
