Good morning from what is going to be a very hot and sunny s somerset

I needed my fan on last night, for a couple of hours. It did help and I slept. The cave is ready and I shall be in slothful mode, all jobs finished by 10. I have a craft and chat this afternoon, I will go but it is a walk there in the heat of the sun and I shall have to cover head to foot in sun protective clothing

The tour of Britain is interesting, the lovely scenery we have here. My husbands brother took part when it was called the milk race. I shall watch the highlights and the first couple of hours today, we lived in n wales for a few years. I see stage 8 is margam park, we used to go there often, lived in beautiful s Wales for 35 years. I am very nostalgic for that area

Have a good day

Good morning from Bristol. It’s promising to be warm again today. Our delayed summer?
Had a quiet day yesterday. After church, I came home and just pootled around.
My upstairs neighbour came round for a cuppa and we put the world to rights. She’s taking me to the supermarket this morning as usual.
Today is sorrowful as it is two years since my lovely son, Philip, was found dead at home. As taichi says, the pain goes (eventually) but the sadness remains. I feel saddest for his son, my DGS.
I am buoyed up with rage as my bathroom refit was due to start today!
Onwards and upwards.
Hugs to all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Sago Mon 04-Sept-23 06:14:49

GrandMattie How sad, I’m sending hugs and condolences. 💐

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and cloudy. I expect it will burn off at some point. GrandMattie 💐 I remember you posting about the loss of your son. Two years have passed in a blink of an eye. Karma I like the sound of craft and chat. Mick enjoy watching Wales whizz by!
Yesterday whizzed by for me. Lots of pottering and getting things done. I cleared out bedding and clothes and it's in a bag to take to the charity shop. I made an enormous pot of lentil soup and have enough for a few days with the rest in the freezer.
Today is a childcare day so it'll be pick up then drop off at nursery and later repeat in reverse. I think dgs2 and I will be in the garden today with maybe a walk to the swings. Then I'll visit mum later on. Have a good day all

RosesandLilac Mon 04-Sept-23 06:36:02

Good morning, I haven’t looked outside yet so no idea what the weather’s doing! Wasn’t yesterday lovely? That mellow sunshine and warmth is so good.
I got all the throws washed and dried, so satisfying.
Today an early dog walk, I think I will drive to the edge of the village and do the old road and fields, she can be off lead for much of it.
I’m cracking on with my crocheting, it’s a big granny square so quite easy to do while listening to podcasts or audiobooks.
I will sit outside in the shade and enjoy the garden I think!
Have a lovely day 🌹

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 15°C.

GM, a very sad day for you💐

Auntieflo, I somehow missed your anniversary, belated congratulations.

DH is golfing and I intend to have a day of doing little. Even small tasks leave me exhausted nowadays.

Enjoy your day, what ever your plans. Looking forward to hearing Sago's wedding tales.
As always keeping the poorlies in my thoughts and prayers.

Good morning all it’s to be another warm day here on the east coast of Fife.

I’m off to the bank this afternoon I’ve got to sort things out with them they’ve cancelled the wrong account and my card was rejected when trying to purchase on line. I phoned the bank and made a complaint and for my troubles they gave me £50. I’m also going to Boots for Emla cream to deaden the pain of my flu injection.

Have a good day and keep safe

Good morning all from a North Leicestershire where we are promised a warm day.

Kitchen fitter is due at 8 so we have to get going. DH is off to the gym and I have a hair appointment this afternoon.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Cool mornings and hot sunny afternoons. It's just how I like it.
My French helper left pre dawn for the airport. I slept through. I shall miss him. He comes back each year and has become a dear friend. Yesterday we went Taizé singing in a medieval church. The community cinema in the evening.

Today I have a df coming round who is helping me choose a knitting pattern for the wool my DD wants me to use.

gMattie thinking of you today. flowers

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton; another fine sunny day forecast. Yesterday was lovely, almost too hot for gardening, but I managed a couple of hours of weeding and hard cutting back of unruly bushes. Then I got my Kindle and a cold drink, and sat and read in the garden for an hour or so.

Dinner was roast chicken and white wine, followed by ice-cream. Think I shall have spaghetti Amatriciana tonight.

Yoga this morning; I may cut the back grass this afternoon if it's not too warm, otherwise I shall sit outside with my Kindle again.

May today be kind to us all, especially those with sadness and worries.

Good morning Michael and all GNs from what promises to be a very warm South Yorkshire. Post holiday laundry today and a food shop. My garden needs some serious deadheading, there is a glut of tomatoes to pick and I need to cut the lawn. I miss the sea already, and the house is very quiet with just me in it.
Have the best day you can, folks.

cornergran Mon 04-Sept-23 07:01:21

Morning Mick, morning All from a clear, about to be sunny, corner of Somerset.

Yesterdays sunshine lifted my spirits although it was too warm in our garden for sitting out, no breeze at all. Mr C had a quiet, uneventful day, a relief to us both. INR check today is at a surgery on a busy road without a car park.

Our younger son will be here, he’s offered to tackle the chores which are beyond me and will provide a taxi service to the surgery, so no stress. . Our elder son flew out for work yesterday muttering about his Dads ability to time health dips with his absences. You’d think he did it on purpose. grin.

What a lot has happened in those two years grandmattie, a challenging, sad day for you flowers. Another here with a fondness for Wales, Mr C’s home country.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 04-Sept-23 07:07:10

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I was in bed early last night feeling under the weather. I still feel unwell now! We had such a lovely weekend with elder son and his family. Not much today. OH has croquet this afternoon but unless I perk up massively and go Waitrose shopping, I’ll be lying on the sofa. 🌹GM.

Good morning from Sefton. A lovely sunny start to the day. I had a very disturbed night after a short run of sleeping through the night.... thought I'd cracked it. It appears not. Unfortunately I have a busy day. Singing group this morning, then 'minding' our youngest DGD this afternoon whilst mum & dad who work from home get on with their zoom/conference calls, WI this evening. Tired out just thinking about it. Hope I last the course.
NE Wales is where I'm from Mick. A lovely & very under rated part of the country. I was brought up in a village on a hill right by the aqueduct. Enjoy the cycling & the scenery.

brook2704 Mon 04-Sept-23 07:19:39

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Inverness
gMattie I’ll be thinking of you today, such a sad loss. I hope your DGS is doing ok and you get to see him from time to time
We had a change of plan yesterday and instead of having a quiet day in the garden, DGD came round for lunch and later DGS came over for a sleepover. A thoroughly enjoyable but unexpected day. We’re dropping DGS at school first thing then I’ll be coming home to tidy up! I’ll not be going to the gym this morning but enjoying being out in the garden instead
Hope you feel a bit better soon llfl, take care
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, enjoy the sunshine and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a misty W Kent. Thinking of the grandchildren back to school this morning.
I think I can safely say yesterday’s beef was the worst piece of meat I have ever cooked I just don’t know what was wrong with it. Tough as old boots, so disappointing. Lovely to see the family and catch up.
gM a difficult time for you. flowers
llfl hope you feel better soon.
Best wishes to all

Good morning from sunny Colchester. A week of summer here.
I'm planning on taking the train into London for a bit of retail therapy as I have an empty.
Must get DS's bedding on the line first.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from very blustery Mallorca.

We seem to be in storm season, there was no rain yesterday but my goodness, the wind was fierce.

DH is still a bit breathless so it will be another quiet, relaxing day. We both needed to rest and we’ve certainly done that.

Mattie, thinking of you flowers.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

monk08 Mon 04-Sept-23 07:41:34

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Yesterday was a good catch up with family. DH cousin was remarkably cheerful for someone that's been laying on their back for 3mths he kept us entertained with tales of his time on the ward and the antics of some of the patients. He is now waiting for a bed in Oswestry hospital were they treat his case of spinal injury he is 15th on the list at the moment.
We then went to visit my brothers while we was over that way and the nephews and niece were there also nice to see them all.
No plans as yet for today perhaps a walk round the arboretum enjoy the sunshine.
grandMattie thinking of you today💐.
I shall now go back and read everyone's happenings by the time it takes me to write there are many more postings on here.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Gingster Mon 04-Sept-23 07:45:33

Good morning all and I’m NOT looking forward to the heat this week. I love September so I’m miffed ! It will drain me! 🥵.

Yesterday I went swimming with ds1 and family . It was cool and refreshing. I certainly knew that I hadn’t swum for a good while and found it hard going. We then went into the spa and got hot again. 🤣. I really enjoyed it and we’re going again next Sunday.

Nothing much on today, just shopping and a dog walk. We’ll change the beds and do a bit more clipping of shrubs.

GM a sad day for you. So much has happened in those two years. 💐.

Take care 🌻

Nanatoone Mon 04-Sept-23 07:50:09

Good morning, this is my first visit here though I’ve been on gransnet for a while now. I’m taking the GCs to school today, the little one is part time this week as he’s just going into reception. Not sure I’m keen on the early starts again. Lovely day ahead though.

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 04-Sept-23 07:50:29

Good morning it’s a beautiful, sunny morning, another good day I hope. MrOops has taken the car to the garage and I have to mow the lawn, do some washing and that’s it. I now have Kinde Unlimited so plenty of books to read.
Apart from dog walking that is my day.
GM a sad day for you, but I realise sadness isnt confined to one day.
Have they explained to you how they will sort out your Asbestos problem? Will you have to vacate ? It’s a horrid product, I lost both of my parents to Asbestosis, so it isn’t something to be underestimated.
Have a good day everyone, if you are travelling enjoy the scenery and if you are at home ditto!

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 04-Sept-23 07:51:03

Welcome Nannatoone

Beechnut Mon 04-Sept-23 07:53:32

Good Morning everyone from sunny Severnside. No clouds.

I finished my painting yesterday and have the room back to normal. The windows need a clean but I will leave that until next week.
Today I’m going to Lidl for a few things, wash the bedding and just faff around with anything else I want to do.

Thinking of you Mattie 💐

Enjoy the sunshine all 🌞
