Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight before we start to have another hot day here in brackley , normally its raining when the fair comes to town.
Mind think back last year sees the anniversary of the Queens Death will it be marked with something of an event?
Otherwise , taking it day by day as to health improvements .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a warm but cloudy Sarthe.

Some of you may remember that my ex’s wife’s DS and DIL recently suffered the sad loss of a baby aged three months, conceived through IVF. They have a seven year old daughter. Tragically, the distraught mother has now taken her own life. There are no words but please keep the father and daughter in your prayers.

Covid has struck my DD2 and family, affecting her, my SiL and DGS2 (13). It seems likely that my DGD (10) will be next. My DD had just completed three days in her new post as Headteacher and was relishing the challenge but must now remain at home until Wednesday.

A gloomy post from me today so I shall enjoy reading more cheerful posts from others. 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩

Good morning, perhaps a thunder cloud at teatime, hope so. S somerset is stifling

Oh Ash, no words, just sorrow and condolences

No appointments, which means another free and easy day. I am doing an hour of garden tidying late each day, I only tidied three rambling roses yesterday but there was a lot of scrap. I chop the removed stems up small and they quickly turn into compost. There must be thousands of compost worms in my bins and I need to keep them fed. 3 hotbins, don`t know how those shiny pink delicate creatures can stand the heat

Have a good day

RosesandLilac Fri 08-Sept-23 06:14:31

Good morning all, another sweltering day 🫤
Oh Ashcombe, how utterly heartbreaking for you all, my thoughts are with you 🙏
Yesterday I had my hair chopped, I cba with faffing with it .
I went to art group in the afternoon, only 4 of us but loved seeing everyone.
Thankfully I slept better last night although when I got up to the loo at some early hour I nearly stood on a big spider…..managed to evict it outside. It’s the first wolf spider 🕷️ I have seen this year 🫣
Today is housework, washing and dog walker for the dog so I will walk her later once it’s marginally cooler.
I want to go through my yarn stash and sort out the colours for another crochet blanket too.
Take care everyone 🌹

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is forecast more sunshine.

Very hot and humid yesterday, 30 degrees on the seafront at 6pm. We sat and enjoyed watching folk splash about for a short while. Overnight Sahara dust had covered our black car, not a good look. A neighbour we really don’t know well hosed it off when he did his own. People can be very kind.

A short volunteer stint for me this morning, first for many a month, it will do me good I think. I need to gain confidence in leaving Mr C on his own. I’ll be ten minutes away, he’ll be glad of the peace and quiet.

Goodness ash I’m so sorry to hear your shocking news and much relieved you are with your husband. Covid is picking up here too, our elder granddaughter has been very unwell for a week, such a shame for your daughter. We do worry about them for sure. Hope you feel better today mick. Did you seek advice?

Belated anniversary wishes to urms and her husband. I’ve only just caught up with yesterdays posts.

Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Good morning from Cornwall where it will be hot again later. Ash, what a terrible thing to happen; that poor family...

Today coffee at a new Ukrainian restaurant and before that am opening my bathroom door to my neighbour. She's had a weird smell in her bathroom for ages and builders took the tiles off to find sodden towels shoved behind. See pic of her current bathing status! The previous tenant had some very strange DIY ideas.

Yesterday I cut two Seasalt tops down the middle and added vintage lace to make floppy cardigan-type garments. If nothing else this oppressive weather is enhancing my sewing skills by making me stay inside!

Morning from a very musty dstart to the day here on the east coast of Fife according to the weather report it’s supposed to reach low a low 70 which is really too warm for Bonny Scotland .
I’m off to Blackpool on Monday for 5 days and I’m so looking forward to it. I’ve found a company who takes their own carers to assist me 24/7 if I enjoy my trip to Blackpool I’m going to book Tenerife and Sicily next year should be great fun.

Have a good day everyone keep safe

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 16° and again very misty. Ash there are no words that can take away the grief of that poor family. I'm so sorry.
Yesterday I had a lovely catch up with an ex colleague who came for coffee. Today I need to move the car out of the drive as the men are coming to deal with two leylandii hedges and some trees. I'll go and get the rest of their money from the post office. Apparently my bank no longer has a branch in town and the nearest branch is miles away. Fortunately the post office can oblige. Dd is dropping off dgs2 for an hour and I'm sure he will be fascinated by the garden work. Dinner tonight will either be macaroni cheese or frittata, I haven't decided. Have a good day all

Whitewavemark2 Fri 08-Sept-23 06:52:23

Good morning from another hot South Downs. Dogs stomach still not very settled so I was out at 5.15 this morning, but must say it was lovely. Cool and peaceful and I watched the sky lightening.

ashcombe that is quite dreadful, particularly for her young daughter she has left behind. Their sadness must be profound.

Today I have little planned. A handy man is coming later to fit new hinges to a small window which won’t shut properly, but that is all. It is too hot for gardening, but I will make a list of the autumn jobs I think, which will keep me occupied.

Fish day today - leek, tomato and barley risotto with baked haddock.

Greyduster Fri 08-Sept-23 06:52:29

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a misty South Yorkshire. Ash that is unbearably sad; my heart goes out to you all.
I have the early funeral of our neighbour to attend this morning. I’ve been offered a lift with another of our neighbours and am glad not to be going alone. This afternoon, I will try and cut the front lawn if it’s not too hot, and clear away some dead plants before the next green bin collection. Everything is going over at a rate of knots.
Have the best day you can folks.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 08-Sept-23 06:55:05

Morning all from an already warm West Oxfordshire.
Such sad and difficult news Ash.
It is our monthly WI Coffee morning. Rather than meet in the village coffee shop we are travelling further afield to a Garden Centre. I think around ten of us will go - I will drive at least one person. After lunch I am having a hair cut with my usual stylist at my usual salon. I have quite a bit of ironing to do, but it’s soooo hot! Apart from walking to a friend’s house last night I haven’t really been out in it.
Have a good day everyone. I hope the Urms’s had a good anniversary yesterday.

Susan56 Fri 08-Sept-23 06:58:45

Good morning from Shropshire.Another scorcher forecast🥵

Ash, as you say there are no words. How heartbreaking. Our thoughts are with the whole family especially the father and little girl🙏🏻

I had good news at the ophthalmologist in that there is an improvement in my eye condition. In all the scenarios I had imagined an improvement hadn’t crossed my mind.DH said well I knew there would be, you have done everything he told you!

A day of keeping on top of all household jobs and packing for our trip to Scotland.DD will bring the children over after school and will leave them for a sleepover.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

kittylester Fri 08-Sept-23 06:59:17

Good morning all from a misty North Leicestershire.

Ash, I am so sorry to hear your sad news.

Yet more kitchen work today and we are admitting defeat and going to the pub for dinner. We are picking B,P and W from school first - first time this term

Have the best day possible all.

Sar53 Fri 08-Sept-23 07:05:40

Good morning from the Essex coast where it is warm already. Yesterday was very hot, so glad we had the air con installed.
Ash thinking of you and your family, how sad for you all xx
DGD2 had a bad at school yesterday but the school appear to be very proactive and DD1 has a meeting there next week. Poor DGD2, only two days in.
No real plans today apart from some early ironing.
I wish you all well xxx

BlueSapphire Fri 08-Sept-23 07:12:37

Good morning everyone from a still cool Northampton,.but set to be mother hot day.

Did very little yesterday, just stayed indoors in the cool and read. Around 5pm I went out into the garden and did the wateting, then got myself a drink and my Kindle,.and sat in the sun for while until it disappeared behind my neighbour's house.

Ash what terrible news; one can only imagine the terrible grief and pain that poor family must be going through.

Out with ballet friends this morning to an informal coffee morning our dance teacher is holding at a garden centre the other side of town. Being picked up at 9.30 and thinking it might be rather warm, will probably wear a cool dress.

No other plans for today, except defrost a curry for tonight's dinner. May the sun shine on us today. (But not too hot, thank you.)

Susan56 Fri 08-Sept-23 07:16:14

Sar I am so sorry your DGD had a bad day at school.I am really glad the school are being proactive and hope things settle down for her.

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 08-Sept-23 07:19:03

Good morning it promises to be another scorcher!
We are off to the coast for the wedding tomorrow, hot weather is promised down there as well.
Ash what a tragedy for the whole family, but especially the husband and little girl, so very sad.
Safe travels to those on the move and best wishes for those staying out of the sun and hopefully out of the heat.
That reminds me I’ll have to wear sunscreen tomorrow as there will be a lot of standing around at the Church.
Have a good day everyone, virtual hugs for those caring for loved ones.

Pittcity Fri 08-Sept-23 07:21:46

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Another hot, dry day.
Aldi first thing via the letter box to send a card to a friend who's father has died.
Then a day of this and that while staying cool.
Hugs to Ash and love to all 🦩 x

NanKate Fri 08-Sept-23 07:25:11

How desperately sad Ash. 🕊️

luluaugust Fri 08-Sept-23 07:26:57

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent
Ash so sorry to hear your tragic news, thoughts with you all
Enjoyable time at art catching up with all the news. Confused time with the paramedic at the surgery regarding my statins. I report a nasty side effect and he tells me to carry on taking them! I do have an appointment with a nurse later in the month so should get a bit more help then I don’t understand what is so urgent when they have done nothing about it before.
Off on holiday for a few days to N Norfolk a favourite spot of ours
Best wishes to all

GrannyGravy13 Fri 08-Sept-23 07:32:45

Morning all

Ashcombe I am so sorry, heartbreaking for all concerned 💔

Sar53 I do hope your DGD has a better day today, it’s worrying when our loved ones are unhappy.

For the first time in three years I am not on Granny duty as The Imp is now at pre-school four full days. I will miss having him.

Off to the gym and a small shop.

Tomorrow I am off to a spa for the weekend with DD and two DiL’s, hopefully I will return ready to cope with the stress of builders and structural engineers 😡😡😡

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Gingster Fri 08-Sept-23 07:33:59

Good morning all.

Ash such shocking news. That poor little girl and her dad! 🙏

Yesterday we walked through the woods along by the river which was pleasantly cooler. Sat and watched the swans and a lonely canoeist. As soon as we left the woods , the heat was too much for us and little dog.
Back home and the fan had stopped working 🥵. I’ve ordered another, due this afternoon.

Today we meet our Friday friends and the cycling tour will go passed the pub garden where we will have ringside seats. 🚴‍♀️🚴🚴‍♂️.

Sar sorry to hear your DGD has had a rough start at school. Hopefully the school will sort it quickly. 🤞. Poor girl - it isn’t fair!

Multi have a great holiday - I feel your excitement for trips abroad next year. Hope all goes well for you. Sounds ideal.

Take care everyone and keep cool if you can. 🌻

NannyJan53 Fri 08-Sept-23 07:34:15

Good morning from a dull but humid Black Country.

Lovely walk yesterday round Baggeridge Park, where it was mostly in the shade as it is a very wooded area thankfully.

No plans today, so probably the gym (at least it is air conditioned). Up early tomorrow as off on a u3a trip.

Such very upsetting news Ashcombe I cannot begin to imagine how the family are feeling. I feel so sad for the little daughter.

Wishing you all the best day.

Gingster Fri 08-Sept-23 07:38:12

GG have a lovely weekend 💆‍♀️🧘‍♀️🧖‍♀️🍹

brook2704 Fri 08-Sept-23 07:38:50

Good morning everyone from a warm and already sunny Inverness, another gorgeous day forecast for later
Ash I’m so sorry to hear such tragic news, please send my deepest condolences to the family, such a tragic loss
This morning I’m going to the gym and then meeting my friend for coffee and a catch up. Should be home early afternoon to potter in the garden if it’s not too hot
Sar hoping things improve very soon for your DGD, its so awful seeing them upset isn’t it
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
