So unlike Prince Charles, who ignores the unwritten rule that he shouldn't become political, in a republic the head of state could be challenged if they step out of line.

That’s true. It applies in so many families. There’s no guarantee that good ancestry means good descendants or bad ancestry means bad descendants.

What has he done, had himself a coronation cost a fortune, got a 40million pay rise, did not pay inheritance tax. No modernisation of monarchy it is the most expensive. Monarchy only help themselves do nothing for the people of this country. They spend tax payers money daily on their own travel homes holidays. Waste of space and money.

I think he is doing a great job- I would no longer describe myself as a ‘republican’ because he is definitely a better choice than anyone here!

What’s wrong with pointing the obscene wealth of someone who has got a position, not on merit, but by being born in a particular bed. I’m not a president either, does that make me a marvellous person worth billions. Why don’t we suggest making Charles King of Ukraine. Much better than a president.
