I share the feelings of many - I think she is a very good actress. I wish I’d seen her one-woman show of women in Dickens. Apparently, from the West End it went to several places round the country and elsewhere, but I wasn’t aware of it until quite recently. I enjoyed the Australian tour, where she came over - to me at least - as very clever, astute, genuine and capable, but there were times, as always, when she is just out to shock.
I read her book too - couldn’t put it down and found reading about her past fascinating - BUT - in places, unnecessarily and excessively rude. (I think she’s written a second book, due out any time now).
I read only a day or two ago that she is quite ill, and readily admits that it is down to her bad eating habits. I wish her well.
To sum up, I like marmite - but only a little at a time. I like Miriam in the same way.
