Good Morning Everyone,
Its still dark but its dry outside here in brackley this morning.
Today will be spent at home , as cyclin on Tv later this morning, and I am hoping later as most past Saturdays to get a Chinese Take Away .
Take Care,
Mick
I swoon looking at those blooms!
That has not been an issue in our parish, but I can see that it may be a problem elsewbere.
I enjoy what I do, but we have few people who are willing to volunteer, so the load is heavy.
Fair enough.
I am noticing more and more it is becoming an issue where I am. Our area on the whole is know for being deprived. And is rural.
The cost of petrol alone, has become an issue.
Nothing to do with not being paid, perish the thought, Fancythat, I would never dream of taking payment. These have always been volunteer roles and no-one has ever or is now presently being paid for them. Therefore, there is no-one to be annoyed with nor compare with, apart from myself, due to my inability to say to say No!.

I am a volunteer, not an employee and am close to walking away. I think my low tolerance level and lack of patience may be partly linked to not feeling 100%
I think in Church circles, and maybe partly because of increased cost of living, there are people now, who have done a lot of volunteering in the past, and they are noticing that there are others getting paid, who may not even, be putting in so much effort as the volunteers.
Don't know what happened there we go away tomorrow for a short break forecast looks poor 🌧️never mind no cooking or cleaning for a few days .☺️

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. Sunny here and looks set for a lovely day.
After the fiasco from the garage dealership, our service book is now stamped and up to date. I suppose that if ever we decide to sell, it makes a difference, proving that all services have been carried out?
Did quite a big shop yesterday. Wouldn't it be nice if all the things just put themselves away?
After reading a thread, on here somewhere, about milk going off, we had some that did just that, so I made some fruit scones. They turned out very nicely, so we had a couple and I have frozen the rest.
Urms, I do so enjoy the Matt cartoons, thank you.
I think our garden thrives on a bit of neglect Liberty, but I have missed collecting the nasturtium seeds! They have disappeared, so hopefully will nestle down in the soil and pop up next year.
Mizuna, wow, you were a busy bee. I know you said it was only a few steps here and there, but you sure got a lot done.
To all who are still poorly, I send love and thoughts, especially to the little girl in Aggie's village.
Have a good day one and all.
Good morning from a wet Durham. It’s rained constantly since Thursday evening here.
I’m still in bed, having nodded off after an uncomfortable night.
DGS1 is 6 today - big Pokémon party tomorrow - so he’s being taken out for treats by DD1 later. I know what you mean Foxy 💐my late DH was able to see DGS1 for almost 4 of his first years, but while he knew of her pregnancy, he died before DD2’s son was born.
A nothing much day for me, but I must get milk, so a little shop later.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning from a rainy NE where it forecast to be no higher than 13 degrees today and rain is forecast for the foreseeable future. Heating has been on morning and night.
Sister got her car fixed so they will visit this afternoon. DS and GD2 will come after lunch and stay for the rest of the day.
DD is making a brief visit to the NE this weekend, she has a medical procedure on Monday and then off on a work related trip. We were hoping to have lunch out tomorrow but every restaurant seems to only do the obligatory roasts and Yorkshire pudding, we would prefer more choices and certainly good vegetarian or vegan food.
Thinking of you today Foxygloves, I know exactly how you feel, sending a virtual hug 💐
Such a lovely photo Foxygloves . Hope you have a gentle day.
Very witty Matt as usual Urms thanks for sharing.
I am campaigning for an extension of the 20 in our town centre as all the Scottish Borders's villages and towns are 20mph.
I'm just in Midlothian where it doesn't apply.

Foxygloves, I think I know just how you feel and empathise. Hope today brings some joyous memories as well as the pain of loss, which doesn’t really seem to diminish much.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire where it is currently 15°C and very windy.
I was feeling quite glum yesterday after the no show plumber. I will forget about it today and get on with some housework.
Thinking of all our ‘poorlies’ and those looking after loved ones.
Have a good day all whatever you’re doing 🌹

Morning all. On our way to Newby Hall to the Harrogate Autumn flower show. I hope the weather improves as it's rather drizzly at Washington services where w are having a comfort stop. I've never Ben to the show at Newby Hall so looking forward to it.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, so I have just put a load of washing in, and have another load to do. Thought I may as well get it done as rain is forecast for the next few days.
Had a lovely morning yesterday; was picked by friends and we visited the complex in the grounds of a local large private mental hospital (they also take a good proportion of NHS).
There were several workshops to provide occupational therapy and employment for patients - ceramics, cookery, woodworking, which are all open to the public; a large wholefoods shop called Daily Bread which also provides work for women who have spent time in the prison system, with the aim of getting them back on the right tracks; a large garden centre, and a beautiful coffee shop as well as a charity shop.
We made a beeline for the coffee shop and had wonderful cherry scones along with our coffee - they were enormous! Then spent a pleasant hour or so wandering around the workshops and garden centre. I also met a friend there (mum of one of DS's schoolfriends), who volunteers in Daily Bread, so had a chat and a catch-up.
On the way home I asked to be dropped off at Sainsbury's, as I had forgotten one or two things on my visit on Thursday.
Then home, where I made a start on tackling the border in front of my new fence. It hasn't been touched for years and was full of weeds, and absolutely back-breaking. I think I cleared a square metre which took me all afternoon. But then suffered the consequences all evening with a terrible backache.
Washing to hang out this morning, then an early lunch and out to rugby this afternoon, where I shall have a catch-up with DD and her husband.
Steak for dinner tonight.
Wishing all a good weekend.
Lovely photo Foxygloves.
Good morning all from Glasgow where, dreich and wet sums up today’s weather.
No gardening today…..again.
Have the best day you can and hopefully a more settled day for all with troubled minds.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
It's been wet and I must gather flowers for the tables at the community café this morning.
Yesterday I waded home from visiting the df with the badly broken ankle. Her pregnant DD brought us tea at intervals while we 3 set the world to rights.
My shift at the shop was fraught. Someone's card payment didn't go through he'd left the shop by then
The card reader stopped working as did my panic button and to cap it someone had wrongly written a V beside the quiche on the blackboard menu and a vegan diner wasn't happy.
Still in the greater order of things.......
Hoping for safe travels and painfree days for everyone.
